Kitty Pryde the ToyBiz version. Banshee from the first Hasbro wave. Cannonball he has no legs, just that blast effect base... Stupid figure. More Marvel Legends videos are cool.
@@Nerdzoic Not only that, there weren't too many dedicated movie only lines then, it was just a comic version in a wave that vaguely tied into a movie. Maybe.
If we were being completely honest about top 10 worst Marvel Legend figures and including both companies it would be a list made entirely of Toy Biz female figures.
Lets be honest, toybiz lack the proper posture. I mean every female is skinny. If they did somehow went with hasbro's current mold then later maintain the aesthetics they sell, every toybiz figure would be expensive.
Only thing I disagree with is Doctor strange, though the cape not coming with him is a bit sad, the costume does exist in the comics, google "Doctor Strange Black and red".
This Doctor Strange doesn't have the cloak because in the comic book, he didn't have the cloak when he was wearing this particular costume (which was the one he was wearing in 2006)
HAHA Venture bros refrence. Now I know why the figure struck that familiarity chord. Can't unhear his voice that way now. And thank goodness I only own 2 from this list. They make good fodder. Liked and subbed and look forward to future content. Personal Top 3 worst Marvel Legends. 3. My 80th anniversary Iron Man. Came with 2 left repulsor hands and loose joints. 2. Cannonball obviously. Half a figure with limited arm articulation lol well at least on mine hence fodder. 1. Dani Moonstar/Aurora. Even my replacement figures came with fragile left arms. Meh just more fodder for the pile brethren. Have a good Sunday and hope you all have a great week. Cheers.
V crotch is when the figures legs don't go straight up and down and arnt on a "t" shaped ball joint. Instead its almost cut to look like a "v" shape. So basically those crappy dollar store figures that whenever you move the leg up it its swivels outward and almost inside out.
I think you should’ve added the Wolverine figure from Toybiz series 2. He had his torso locked in a weird pose and his claws were trash. I know it was super early in the line, but he was still trash. Magneto came out in the same wave or before and somehow had more articulation. And the reason that Toybiz had trash women was because of Electra. They reused her body. But her body was done that way to achieve high pose ability while still looking sexual. It did not work for that figure. But they shouldn’t have kept using that body. But Toybiz loved reusing bodies. And I noticed Hasbro is getting bad about it too
I hate that complaint for Cannonball, if his lower body were regular legs he would be so generic and if given a choice most would choose the blast off legs
I think the point of the complaint IS... That he SHOULD have had legs and the blast effect SHOULD have been an added accessory... So that EVERYONE had the option according to how each person might prefer to display him... Personally, I think he SHOULD have had legs, on the Spider-Man 2099 buck (for dynamic flight poses...), AND the blast effect SHOULD have been able to attach at the waist, enclosing the legs. NOT difficult to accomplish. Also, I hate to say it... BUT his head sculpt ALSO SUCKS...!! I appreciate what they were going for there... But NO.
Just found your channel, very fun and informative. Love the references and clever digs at the figures. The botulism had me rolling! Nice to see a fellow "mature" collector... (LOL).
Hey! Welcome. Thank you for watching my channel. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I like adding references where I can to keep it light and fun for everyone.
I think an added layer of 'WTF' for the Wolverine listed is it's Being 'Ultimate' while in the same BAF as the 'movie inspired' Jean... - quality Control aside an 8 figure BAF with such an 'erratic' roster practically screams "we're here to take your money"
Congrats on your first video. Charisma and delivery are good. You might want to be a bit more thorough on researching the figure source material (Doc Strange) as you may get raked over the coals by viewers. Cheers! EDIT - Apologies, I coud swear I thought you said in the video it was your first.
Haha first Marvel Legends. I did the need get corrected about it being a comic version when he was no longer sorcerer supreme. Was I wrong about anything else on it?
@@Nerdzoic I'll have have to watch agaim. I think there was something that could be misinterpreted That was probably a joke if I remember correctly but otherwise you nailed it.
Two things: I love that five-panel Falcon on your wall... gorgeous. Second: I am SHOCKSHOCKSHOCKED that the Ronan wave Namor not make this list. That thing is the standard of horribleness that all things horrible are measured against. Not in the realm of MLs, or action figures as a group, but ALL things. In life. And thirdly, great video. Ok, three things.
I like that Dr. Strange is on this list. I get that it's based on the comic line where he isn't the Supreme Sorcerer, but then they released him later on Dormammu BaF wave where he was the same figure, but with the cloak making this figure even worse.
Hey man do the best marvel legends next, my top picks so far are spider man ps4 version, captain america from the civil 2 pack, and ant man from ant man and the wasp
I disagree with your #10 pick. Sure, it’s a ugly figure, but comic version characters are in movie waves all the time. That Hulk buster wave, five out of the six characters in that wave are comic version characters. Only one figure, War machine, is the only figure in that wave is a MCU figure. The Doctor Strange figure was not intended to be the MCU Strange as that film came out a year later.
In that hulkbuster wave we should have gotten instead mcu quicksilver, iron man mark 45, Ultron sentries , and winter gear Hawkeye from the raid on hydra scene but no we got awful blizzard, marvel now iron man, thunder and Valkyrie with awful body mold. The reason I don’t have mcu vision and scarlet witch in the figures we should have gotten the hulkbuster wave is because we got scarlet witch in the abomination 2016 wave and vision was in a pretty rare two pack with scarlet witch from infinity war and phasing vision in fat Thor wave. Hopefully we get mcu quicksilver, iron man mark 45 and Ultron sentries
NOT 2002 - 2005. Toy Biz officially did Marvel Legends from 2002 - 2006. Toy Biz went bankrupt in 2006 and sold the license to Hasbro in 2006. Hasbro released Spider-Man: Origins figures in the end of 2006 (circa November/December) and then officially released their own wave of Marvel Legends in January 2007.
@@Nerdzoic Yeah. Most of them were. A few of them were made by Hasbro, though. Especially the 8 inch doll figures they did for that line. That was Hasbro.
Dude. That black-suit DOCTOR STRANGE figure is an absolute FAVORITE! Others in the comments have already explained that, at the time, he wore this outfit in the comics (and It's my 2nd fave look of his), and that (at the time - though it happens waaay tooo frequently) he was not the Sorcerer Supreme, and gave away the Cloak of Levitation. I will give you the point that having a comic figure in a movie wave is weird, but I was happy to have it. I was WAY MORE PISSED when they re-released this figure shortly later WITH the Cloak. The cloak paint app irritates me, as does the static sculpt. It was just a lazy re-release that I was "contractually obligated" to purchase (multiplies of). OK. I've been typing while you've been rambling on the rest of the list. Now to rewind it and watch. Stay nerdy.
I'm surprised no honorable mentions. Six Armed Spidey, and most of the smaller figures (Spider-Ham, Hit Monkey, Puck usually get mentioned here as they have limited articulation.)
I don't collect Marvel Legends, but I do collect Black Series so it was entertaining to see how bad Hasbro messed up some Marvel characters. They sure have had some bad Black Series, I'm thinking the first release of the Emperor. Thanks for the content.
Hey nerdzoic when are you going to upload top 10 best marvel legends figures of all time because my favorites are hulk figures with 80 years body, 2020 retro spider man, and mark 85 iron man
Man I really miss Toy Biz. Only one I have on the list was Cannonball and that was because I got the case. Didn't really want the case but I knew trying to get a Nightcrawler and Mr. Sinister was gonna be a bitch .
Hasbro took over the line in 2006 or 2007, not 2005. And that Doctor Strange is very comic accurate, he wore a black costume without cape for a while a few years ago, good list tho
I wouldn't count any with odd designs since that's more on Marvel than Hasbro. For what it is, it's a passable effort, Hasbro did they best they could.
Hey nerdzoic Ik this is about marvel legend but my question is about blackseries. Have you gotten any of the new clone wars figures yet, if so which one/one’s?
2007 ultimate wolverine was my favorite marvel figure as a kid, and he doesn't look that bad in person in my opinion, just maybe claws are not straight but rest is decent and acceptable
Haha thanks so much. I’m myself when using pop culture references. I used to have a game at work that we’d only communicate through movie quotes and see how long we could go through the shift.
*_Hey my friend! Love your channel name/logo! I saw you in Cathrin's comments and wanted to swing by and say hi! Wishing you tons of success on your RU-vid journey! Like # 239! ^_^_* 👊😀
LOVE THAT DR STRANGE! unfortunately, that was his look for about 5 years, then it changed just as the toy came out. Marvel makes that mistake A LOT. PS. at the time, Dr. Voodoo had the cloak of lev because Strange lost the mantle of Sorc Supreme.
I loathed the Quicksilver Marvel Legends figure, Yellow Jacket one, and the first Ultron one they did. All three were terribly sculpted, had limited articulation, and if you had painted Ultron green, he would have looked like one of the grasshoppers from the ANTZ movie! So they get my vote for the top three worst Marvel Legends sculptures. 🤢
I disagree with that Dr. Strange. It's not the best but it's not anywhere near the class of these other releases. As for my bottom three Marvel Legends, it's hard to say. Most MLs are either average or extraordinary; it has to really suck given the price-point to make the cut: Cannonball: This could have been amazing if they had figured out a way to give him alternate legs, or tool the blast effect where you can port him in. Having him constantly in the blast off position basically only gives you half a figure and limits what you can do for displays. Emma Frost: To put it bluntly, she looks like a sex doll. Odd proportions, a frozen face, anky articulation, the only reason it's not my worst is because it's from Hasbro's early days with the line and there's one worse. Well, 5 worse... The OG X-Men Toysrus box set: Look up Glenn Webb's (RIP) review of this set and he can better put into words my thoughts on how butts it is.
That Hulkbuster wave didn't have any movie figures, just the BaF. Plus that Dr Strange isn't BAD, just..boring. overall I think i agree with you on 6 of these. Gamora gets a maybe. One that you left out was the Toy Biz X-23. The purple variant is top 5 worthy of all time trash
