I only own 1 Figure from the company & that's the Armoured WW. It's a total mess For one, what WW doesn't come with her Lasso. The wings can can only be posed outwards, thay could have included a second pair/figure with them folded & a head not wearing the helmet Even though my fave DC hero is Nightwing, I refuse to buy any of him just because they look so bad
I don't understand the appeal of McFarlane Toys at all. They look cheap AF. just reused pieces after reuse, Majority are repaints/variants. Plus Pins?! Why are they still using pinned joints? There's a reason why they are so cheap & you have to question the labour that he is using
Glad you guys in the action figure community are having more luck with Deadpool than us in the Lego community. We’ve only had one regular Deadpool mini fig back in 2012 and two SDCC fig. It’s not been a fun time 😐
They seem to sit on the shelves a lot and aren’t as popular as ML I find the figure scale to be too big but there are other issues like pins and no 3d printing face sculpt.
With $500 I buy a Resin 3D printer and a filament 3D printer and in a year print Tatooine. I am sure a lot of 3D designers going to design this cantina and more items.
Why don't McFarlane toys just make the classic looks? Sick of this vampire Shazam crap. Sick of this blackest night Batman crap. Sick of winter vacation wonder woman crap.
Just came into my office this morning to find one of my stands had an accident so most of the figures were on the floor. Just ordered the sticky dots so hopefully won't be having that issue again.
If you set down two figures of the same character in front of me.. and you didn't tell me which one is McFarlane and which one is Neca. And then said I can only buy one of them. Just by the sculpt on the figure it's going to be Neca.
I only have the spawn mk11, which is so fucking barebones, but gave it a pass cause its the first articulated spawn with a slight modern articulation. Never looked into McFarlane figs anymore. Props to them though, they are pretty accessible here in my country, despite being in Asia.
They always brag about they are the #1 toy company at retail but idk how , they stay rotting on shelves and they have the ugliest articulation and inaccurate designs with horrible scaling STILL
I'm still waiting to see if their 3" DC Page Punchers line is dead, but Todd and his company refuse to release any information on that line. At least to collectors. =(
I buy everything from Hasbro to Hot Toys and McFarlane is the only company I shy away from because every piece I've ever bought was terrible compared to what other companies produce. I feel they just cannot consistently produce quality product.
So you made a bad business deal when you first bought the play-doh legs but it’s their fault. 😂😂😂. I’ve never bought anything from your store and will never buy from you. Great way to build those positive relationships. Either way you putting out your laundry isn’t the wisest business decision but keep doing what you do, I’m sure you’ll make it to the BBTS and EE level.
Wow! I would have been drinking after the second blow off letter and I don't think I'd have a cool head. I have a few Mcs and they aren't bad, hope things swing better for distribution and the company. Like I say, more toys are always better for the companies and community.
As a mcfarlane collector. It does frustrated me. That. Figures. Sell out almost immediately and I have to fucking. Pay Double or triple and. That's super frustrating and I have been buying less and less from McFarlane. Cis I am tired. Of not being able to complete my DC teams because I have to hunt down. And pay amounts that the figures are not even worth for
I thought Mcfarlane Toys were only lazy on the scaling of the figures and the creativity in marketability, they can literally make millions if they released a new Escanor "THE ONE" figure but they prefer favoring BBTS, this is disappointing
Thanks for this post Matt. I’ve been a toy collected all my life. Even as a young kid in the late 70s, I made sure that when I played with my Star Wars figures, I TRIED to keep them pristine and still have them all today. That said, I know little about the modern collectable TOY business and your frustrated rant really was an education. While I regret the cause of your rant, you and your store are on my radar now. I’d be more than happy to add you to my list retailers I shop from. To be honest, a lot of the stuff I buy now I order direct from the toy maker, catch with a decent markdown on BBTS or EE, or if lucky catch online on Walmart, Target, or Amazon shop sites. In doing so, I find the quick sellouts of the coolest stuff, much shorter to no “coming soon” presale previews, and staggered and delayed release of products and waves truly annoying now. It’s like it’s all designed to serve bulk resellers who scoop things up to sell at crazy jacked up prices. I don’t know, man, I’m on the verge of getting out of the hobby, but your post got me encouraged by knowing I’m far from the only one frustrated and that there are still retailers out there who want better for both their customers and, understandably being a business, themselves.
