Never really liked that groot baf. But the obsidian figure I did like it. I think they wasted a couple of characters on baf that they could of used better characters but it is what it is. Good video dude 👍
I have the Marvel Anniversary Age of Ultron: Ultron, and I like him better than the build a figure. His paint is better and he just over all feels and looks like an overall improvement.
I have the single release Ultron and its a fair bit better than the BAF. The paint is just way better, he doesn't have the dull grey instead he's all shiny silver with better red highlights.
@@Nerdzoic He's been as low as $23 in the past couple of months, not sure he'll ever drop back down there again as I think the 80th anniversary figures are now pretty much sold out everywhere, and are climbing in value.
As others have said, the 10 years Ultron has a nice metallic paint over it where the original had some parts slightly shiny and some parts a dull grey and it didn't match. The paint makes a huge difference. Key distinction though for the comic Thanos at the end - the new one isn't an update of the old BAF. The BAF is a modern Thanos and the new one is a classic/Infinity Gauntlet Thanos. The King Thanos head with the new one is actually made to go on the modern figure, per the Legends team. The BAF did get rereleased in 2018 though as a cheap attempt by Hasbro to have a "classic" Thanos in stores when Infinity War came out. Just the modern look in classic colors so it wasn't really accurate to anything, but it's a cool looking figure at least.
I was kinda hoping with the fox x men legends being made I wish they did a set that included colossus , storm , a single release Deadpool and maybe and Cyclopes with the Deadpool 2 juggernaut as the baf I think that would be an amazing wave
Just priced the mantis BAF on eBay… $100, $110, $120, $140… That’s crazy insane!!!!.I did buy a Bro Thor BAF for $35 complete, i’m glad I got him, and not a bad price either!.
@@Nerdzoic he also has the much older version of Apocalypse, and Onslaught, Sentinel, Nemesis (just Holocaust with a different name to prevent controversy), the brood queen, and the older red hulk
I have the 10 years Ultron which I got from GameStop Main reason I bought it was because Ultron has a cool design and who doesn’t love big bad robots (he towers over my other figures) and he’s painted more accurately and sculpted more accurately Only downside is no accessories but that’s about it
Studios series Ultron is a huge improvement! He's darker and shinier with a gun Metal grey Plastic as apposed to the light grey plastic colour of the original BAF. I think he may have a slight wash to him as well which just highlights the sculpt way more than the light colours of the original. If you like the original BAF, studio series version is a must buy! The upgrade is super worth it!
Dont know why people hate on the cull obsidian, the new one maybe screen accurate but the uniform on him covers up all the great sculpt of the original. Forget about screen accuracy and put the two side by side and the original has a way better sculpt and more detail, i know which one i would pick if i had to go for one
@@Nerdzoic the thing with bafs is that if it gets a re-release/remake, it should be better than the original. I just dont think the new cull is, more accurate yes, but better overall figure, no. Agree on rest of list. Plz do a top 10 most wanted mcu/sony/fox figs. I would love a mcu kurse, quicksilver + updated soviet winter soldier, would love fox xmen storm, nightcrawler+ azazel, and would love a dp2 juggernaut vs colossus 2 pack. Id love to see some of the face print tech on eye patch nick fury and bruce banner also. Keep the great content coming dude
I really like the new updated Thanos that you showed, but I picked up the Masterpiece version that comes with Lady Death for like $27 and he looks really good in any setting of figures. I do like the BAF's, but I think I had to go with this one. Updates of Fin Fang Foom and Galactus would be really awesome
You should do an underrated marvel legends top 10. I recently picked up Robot man from the allfather BAF wave, and I gotta say he’s pretty good. I only paid 10 bucks for him as well! Also as someone who owns both MCU Ultrons, the 10 years version has much better paint apps. His back is actually painted unlike the original.
I wish I could just buy them whole on eBay, but I'm someone that feels like I must be the one to build the build-a-figure in order for it to feel like a genuine BAF and not just some loose action figure I would be purchasing. It would definitely save me a lot of money to do it that way, especially on cheaper BAF options like Molten Man. I just love to be the one to snap the pieces together, it makes it part of the fun. However, sometimes individual parts for BAF for the pricier ones get to absurd prices, like 35 bucks or more for a small chunk of plastic... to me the better option is to just buy the figure itself at that point even if it's an expensive one.
@@Nerdzoic For sure! That's why I like your channel so much since I think it's very much about the fun of the figures and not the value or collectible itself. It's so satisfying to work slowly on completing a collection over time. I have spent the last few years trying to get the Apocalypse BAF wave figure by figure when I encounter them at a price I am willing to pay for them: snapping together that figure will be amazing and make it be worth way more in my mind than just picking him up on eBay buy it now. The thrill of the hunt makes it that much sweeter.
It definitely feels like this list is based on 2 sec ebay searches and you wrote down the cheapest one you can find from a random seller. Because Allfather is worth way more than 34 bones
I wish it was 2 seconds. A few hours actually. The problem with that one in particular was the lack of auction data. If I remember correctly there were only a handful of auctions. Looking now it’s closer to $50
It would be sick to see what some of your favorites are from your personal collection. Or what figs you wasted money on. I bought three Black Knights before I learned my lesson. Also do you collect comic slabs? Trying to get into em and was looking for tips.
At some point I’ll def talk about that. I don’t collect slabbed...yet. At some point I want to get my better books graded though and get into that game
The juggernaut baf can be gotten in a two pack with Colossus For around 60 much better deal as comes with two extra hands and a extra head and the colossus is a nice guy as well. Only down side is you don't get the belt that the baf has
Maybe a shriek figure? she was basically Carnage's girlfriend in Maximum Carnage and a more classic variant of lizard like maybe around normal height and shorter snout
I concur with this list + the honorable mentions, I only bought the X-Men BAF Jugs wave but sold him off once I got the more classic version that came with classic Colossus.
I finally got the cull obsidian BAF after many years! It's a pre loved figure from a collector/seller on our local online store app, he is still in a very good condition seems untouched for a long time and I bought him for only 1400 Pesos or 24 dollars in US currency, the film accurate one is still pretty expensive thought like he is about 60 dollars or something, so I personally prefer the BAF if you're currently saving money.
I've been looking a if it's worth getting the build a figure for Sam wilson. But with hasbro track record I think it'll be worth waiting for them to re do him in a month or so 😂
I'm surprised the Kree Baf is so cheap, I get that the wave which he came from has no standout characters so there isn't a real shortage of available parts to complete it, but at the same time, it's an army baf type of character, sure it's a lesser character, but still you would think a hard core fan would want about 3 of these in their kree legions.(I'm now looking to add another) I think that the Juggernaut price is also a bit weird, there are a couple of super expensive figures in that series (I"m missing the Wolverine figure from that series and he goes for $44 without the baf piece, 75 with) and Rogue goes for nearly double that price.
I didn’t even consider it being an army builder, that’s a really good point. I think the Juggernaut is low because he has multiple releases plus his marvel select is supposed to be awesome
@@Nerdzoic I have the select and the two pack, but am missing the baf, and not really trying to get it, since the piece I was missing from it was more or less released as a classic... but still considering the sheer cost of the component figures on the secondary market (I don't think any of them sells for less than $30) It's a bit surprising that just putting him out as a buyable figure makes him "cheap". I guess for the people who actually like the original figures, and who have the baf, and who are now buying the superior re-release figures, it makes a bit of sense to give up their baf, which is what I have to assume is happening.
Wave’s of figures that got blown out at discount stores like Ollie’s and Five Below tend to flood the market with cheap BAF’s. For example the Guardians Groot wave hit 5 below. So you could get The Whole set for $30. The Captain Marvel wave peg warmed at Ollie’s for awhile for not much more.
@@Nerdzoic great deal, wasn't really expecting Thanos and Cull to look so detailed and Cull to be as big was he was. I put him next to the new Kingpin, Blue and Yellow Deadpool and the 90s Black and Red Daredevil
That Ultron doesnt looks good its a shame Rocket R. Low the price . I wonder if you consider make a top of DC Universe Classics a great line with awesome selection of characters like Joker, Bane, Swamp Thing, Lobo among others. Keep going the tops.
I really thought I was a subscriber to you? Apparently I wasn't. Odd since the majority of my views focus on Die-Cast cars, trucks, etc. Also action figures like Marvel Legends figures DC Multiverse and Star Wars Black Series figures are my favorites. Anyway I fixed that problem. Thank you sir for your dedication 🙏 and for all of your hard work I regards to your top ten lists and reviews. I will be looking back at binge watching your older videos to get a better idea on some of the figures I didn't get on release. I made some really foolish decisions, mistakes, or purchases that cost me too much money. The BAF's can be extremely difficult to acquire, find, and assemble. I was able to get one BAF a while back that I probably spent too much on. The older Toy Biz wave that included Nightcrawler, Professor X, War Machine, the Hulk with a variant. A green Hulk and a Gray Hulk. Whiplash with another variation. This had different heads. Also a Doctor Strange figure. This was the Galactus series BAF. I was able to get the entire series Mint on Card and I picked up a couple loose as well. The Nightcrawler was one of the best ones I wanted. Professor X was another one I wanted loose but he was going for over $100.00+ back then unopened and I didn't want to spend that. Toy Biz has been bashed a lot by some Hasbro supporters, but I found some absolutely incredible figures that Toy Biz made that IMO are better than the Hasbro versions. The series VIII (I think) Doctor🐙Octopus🐙 from Toy Biz has far better appendages than the Hasbro version. The Toy Biz version has arms that all bend, the ends actually are also articulated as well. You can pose Doc Ock like he was in the comics walking with his Octo-Arms. Nightcrawler also is a better version. Again his tail is bendable and posable as well. Just an opinion I'm not bashing the Hasbro line at all, EXCEPT how expensive they've become and how much less you get. One more reason why your videos will be helpful. I can learn if a figure is worth the price being asked for. Thank you again and TAKE CARE!
Here's a contest I'd like to see...best Baf contest! Make your own build a figure ,but you must use three or more parts from 3 or more different baf sets
I still want that children of Thanos Boxset but mainly just for the corrected Proxima and Cull. It would’ve been a definite cop if they would’ve made a corrected endgame armored thanos in the pack instead of the infinity war version. Still hoping for a corrected Endgame Thanos. That baf is awful. Also the MCU 10 years Ultron is much better than the baf. It’s actually silver unlike the baf which was gray and touches of silver. I think it looks much better than the Baf
I was very lucky because I got Cull and Ultron as gifts which made swallowing the 60 i paid for king thor much easier. 2017 Ares for 37 so I am happy. I got the deluxe giant man and I love it. Great video I have Caliban but I bought the wave. I have the deluxe and the other Thanos. Also have both Juggernaut and don't know which I like more because I left the 2 pack mib. 🙃
BLASPHEMY! The first Thanos build a figure is a treasure. I hate it don’t get me wrong. It’s the worst build a figure I own. However! It is based off the concept art which is amazing. So I love it. Also hate it at the same time. :)
I think you might have your facts wrong on all father from what I personally seen yes most of him is pretty cheap but if you're looking to get his legs alone from what I've seen most of them have gone like 50 bucks a piece per leg his legs are the most difficult part to find if I'm not correct unless something has changed in the marketing last I checked yeah you can get this guy for even less than 30 like 10 bucks for just his entire upper half but his legs are going to be a b**** for anyone to find because I believe one of them comes with a hard to find Thor and the other comes with a pretty pricey iron fist like I said last time I checked
Nerdzoic The BAF is more silver while the 10 Years is more “gunmetal”. I use the baf for the end-of-movie Ultron Prime and the 10 Years for the mid-movie Ultron Prime. Hope this helps! :)
Fair question, but unless I point out that I have never seen it in person, I have seen and handled every figure I talk about VIA friends, resales, or conventions. Can't own them all though (unfortunately)
What's funny is I have the absolute WORST POSSIBLE LUCK! ALL of the worst list were figures that I bought the whole sets of, and the BETTER BAF's that are far better and more expensive I didn't get because I spent too much money on the crappier BAF's! The Jubilee BAF was/IS by far a better BAF than some of those again CRAPPY versions. Point? Do research, and don't buy to just buy.
