There's this nostalgic feeling that I get by watching Mary as Ramona, like not the movie itself, but only the actress playing that character. Something so nostalgic, so sad, it reminds of someone and a happier time. Idk, something about her eyes.
It's so strange you should mention it. I had the exact same feeling! I watched the movie last week after a sleepless night... you know how those days are, when you didn't get enough sleep and everything's a bit surreal. And then this nostalgic feeling, this immediate crush on her... boy, that was tough.
I have watched the movie during my Erasmus at Sweden's winter. And she reminded me of the girl I loved back then. So completely understand how you feel. :)
I think this clip makes some of us nostalgic because it kinda emulates the memories/experiences we used to have in highschool when we saw our crush. At least it does for me.
Mary as Ramona Flowers was perfect. She's a fantastic actress, she is so unbelievably gorgeous, and she kicks major ass. I love how Mary Elizabeth Winstead was in three different "cinematic trends" along her carrer - teen horror movies of early 2000s (The Final Destination 3), indie comic adaptations of early 2010s (Scott Pilgrim Against The World) and Super Hero movies on late 2010s (Birds of Prey).
I love a lot of celebrities: Mila Kunis, Brie Larson, Daisy Ridley and many more, but I feel like Mary has just another dimension of beauty to her. She is honestly the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my lifetime, and it's not just a casual: "Oh, she's gorgeous", no. She is genuinely another specimen of beauty.

I've seen more of other actresses since I was a kid but for some reason, I always had a crush on her the most even from only two films that I didn't even watch regularly (this and Sky High). Honestly, it makes Scott Pilgrim very relatable to me to have a huge crush on someone only from passing glances
