She is very under appreciated. She deserves some big awards for 10 Cloverfield Lane. I thought she was as great as Sandra Bullock in Gravity, maybe better! She really gave that wonderful female performance without exploiting her looks, and focused on the character, which in my opinion is the definition of a great actress. She kicked ass in 10 Cloverfield Lane, and she was also wonderful in The Thing remake in 2011.
In my opinion she is for all intents and purposes physically perfect. She also has a tremendous personality. Boy how I would love to take her out to dinner.
I agree but my only issue with the film is that it could have done without the "surprise" ending involving aliens. Hollywood has pretty much beaten that idea into the ground over the past two decades or so. In my honest opinion, the film was just fine being about three people cooped up in a house and one of them turns out to be a psychotic murderer.
Livingston Hampton I don't think you know that the "Cloverfield Universe" is much bigger than this movie, and even bigger than Cloverfield. Do yourself a favour and look up the other media, short clips, audio etc, that's being built around the Cloverfield Universe... it's incredibly compelling. And it all ties together and also brings in both these movies in an incredible way. Spot the satellite falling, Dharma initiative, the hidden audio "bugs" in both movies and the trailer and the released audio tracks. Hint: You need to reverse the audio. Do that for yourself if you can tho, before looking it up. Much more fun that way. The trailers and the interactive social media also have little clues that 'spoiler' will lead you to a conclusion of what was awoken (by the satellite?), where it's from, and whether or not they killed it... (You can tell I'm a huge Cloverfield fan!)
I really liked the movie; it wasn't just a cheap thriller. It actually kept you guessing most (if not all) of the way through. I definitely recommend it, even to those that don't like getting scared.
Just watched Scott Pilgrim vs the World and fell in love with Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character there.. so sad that I didn't watch it back in the day and stalked her online.. she's amazing - today, in the past, at all times - what a woman! Beautiful eyes, amazing actress as well!
Is it me or Stephen is getting better and better at interviewing actors and actresses? He's always been great with interesting guests, but now he seems always so confident...
She has been one of my favorites and I loved her in Brain dead and Fargo among others but so happy for her recent marriage to Ewan Mcgreggor and he beautiful baby boy. They make a perfect couple
Big fan of hers. She's a talented actress and obviously beautiful. Hopefully the critical success of 10 Cloverfield Lane will lead to box-office success and a big push for her career.
She is simply beautiful. I mean no makeup, messy hair beautiful. And her intelligence and sweetness puts her way over the top. Great movie. Loved it. All three main actors where excellent. She is still somewhat under the radar. Probably a good thing.
SPOILER ALERT: DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE CONNECTION! There is no connection except a sign at the end of the movie that says "10 Cloverfield". There are no giant monster. The whole thing was just a marketing ploy. The movie doesn't take place in the same universe as Cloverfield, even. It seems that the franchise name of "Cloverfield" is more about producing original, groundbreaking horror films with viral marketing campaigns. But the movie is VERY good. It has 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, too.
There is an alien ship she blow up with a Molotov cocktail in the end after being chased by an alien being. In the end as she drives off into the horizon, the dark sky is lit up by lightning only to reveal more alien spaceships. So yes it can fall under the clover field universe.
Always liked her ever since I first saw her in Final Destination part 3. Thought she was pretty cute then, ridiculously hot now. Also very hot in Grindhouse and she sings too!!
Im soooo damn relieved that she wasn't sexually exploited and used in that way as an actress and character, scary movies give women extra anxiety because just like in life, we're always prepared for the worst in the simplest and most severe ways. This movie gains sooo much respect because they respected HER
+Joey Banana Well..they were not talking about any winter...guess they were talking about the real winter. But, in case of a massive disaster..do you think few chickens will be enough?
if my continuity-error eyes were functioning properly, there is one such error involving her in the movie. There's a scene where she's lying on the couch talking to Emmitt and then the air filtration system starts going haywire. She is called by Howard to come to the duct. When she does, she is wearing a different pair of jeans (I'd have to rewatch to be certain)
