Yea but there's been many superstar singers and actors that have promoted for food chains and did not go thru so much scrutiny. People just make this to be racist and I'm like damn.... Every damn thing is not racist
It's not that it's racist... It's just awkward... Even Mary j said that she didn't know the final product was gonna end up like that and that she was upset by it. Also she didn't get 2 million from it like people think she did. I mean i wouldn't call it racist by a longshot... But the idea of Mary j singing about a chicken wrap is funny in itself....

There is nothing wrong with this song or commercial. She is just promoting a chicken wrap. She ain't half naked she aint portraying a slave; so what's so bad about promoting something that everyone loves, chicken?

Well that's why Mary is awesome. She has a sense of humor, and obviously doesn't think too many things are "below" her. She isn't some snobby rich person who can't take a joke. And obviously if she thought this was racist or offensive, she would have said no.

theLupeXperience Ugh, she's being funny. It shows she doesn't take herself overly serious. It's what humanizes her as an artist and as a person. I don't think this is REAL racism and what I mean by that is, it's a joke. My friends of ALL races are racist to each other with jokes, it makes us ALL laugh. It's all light hearted, we're all intelligent enough to know none of it is real or true. Racism is only wrong when it's real. If this WERE real than Mary wouldn't have done it.
