I lost it seeing Janet Jackson and Mary J Blige on the stage together. Two mega global legends. Black Women are wrongfully mistreated in the music industry. Black women are the creators of every genre of music. A black woman created Rock, Black female slaves created country music with their African folklores, and Black women were the pioneers of EDM house, just to name a few of many genres. Black women are erased from Pop music and are marginalized to the Urban categories of hip hop and r&b in order to perpetuate negative stereotypes of black womanhood. I'm just glad to see Mary J Blige get her flowers. She is an underrated legend
