How about you rule a kingdom with every man against you and have a different faith as what the country is. Have your father die 8 days after you were born, then your husband die within one year of marriage, then your mother dies being the regent of Scotland. Imagine going back on your own to rule a kingdom at the age of 19. I'd bet you wouldn't last long...
Molly Vickers In this show, yes, but not in history. Queen Elizabeth was far more suited to be a queen of England. Mary was only groomed to be the wife of Francis and had lived all her life in France. Though Queen of her own country, it was really only by name since her mother was Queen Regent. + Having a different faith, being a woman and never having been really lived in her own country, it was pretty difficult for her to rule.
Blahblah Blah I think you need to read a biography on Mary. The TRUE life of Mary Stuart by John Guy. In history and this show she was the best for this role.
Noah Buck It’s basically a sympathetic biography of Mary Stuart lol her marrying the murderer of her 2nd husband was absolutely ludicrous. She ruled with her heart, and not her head and that was definitely not how it goes in politics

You won England in my eyes, and your cousin does not have the given "birth right", like you do. She was not legitimate, and should not have taken the throne to begin with. The ending of this show still doesn’t make sense. Mary had many loyal lords on her side where the fuck were they....where were all of Mary’s guards when she was getting arrested...and she was literally their queen and her killing the king shouldn’t have matter. I hate how this show got cancelled...it needed at least another season to end the show properly.
I think her brother dying was a huge blow to her getting back her crown in real life … no was more loyal to her then her bro … and as far as the show the CW rushed it
The worst tv show that I've ever heard of, by far. Such a teen show, you could say. If you make a series based on historical events, you should at least try to be believable. Not make a series that is ridiculous and unbelievably fake.
It is mostly wrong but it does have some right facts inside the tv show and it makes younger people research Mary queen of scots to see what really happened to her
It's not supposed to be historically accurate, they never brand it as such. It's a historical fiction based upon her life, not a direct representation.

You'd think they've made that clear when they opened up the pilot episode with a prophesy and proceeded to have 12 bdsm base subplots and ongoing pagan side quests while maintaining the whole first season in a "today on reign" format, having each episode its own tiny plot that is immersed in the ongoing story. Apparently that, along with modern prom dresses, is not enough to make things clear to some people... :(
