From Liverpool myself and lived in Glasgow for 5 years worked on every deprived area and it’s very sad to see how many people are addicts there, still love the place and Glaswegians 👍🏻👍🏻
My home city .. I worked in Birmingham mosley 😳 that was worse all young girls on the game smack crack .. homeless units went to get weed two black guts Swan off down the side of the front passenger seat 😮 fk I'm only wanting a half q of bud .. first day there front of house foil black lines up and down it .. everyone where I was on the crack heroin 14yr old girls on the game i was 17 first time in Birmingham but our company probably put us where the cheapest rent was .. next to the carphone warehouse could rent a gun 2 doors up was there for 7 months 😮 this mad but central was fine some good nights out .. but shocked me I thought im from Glasgow Birmingham 🤨 won't be bad.. it was worse
Glasgow could be such a nice city. I think they always seem to spend money on the outside of areas in Glasgow or Scotland really and they forget about the parts in the middle and 9/10 the middle bits are horrifying. I bet Roxanne would’ve been stunning if she could get clean and most probably before whatever got hold of her.
Roxanne has people waiting to help her she needs to want the help billy i was brought up with all her family her mum & brother are dead she lost her we gran a couple of years back and a uncle just before xmas she has people around who are willing to give their time up but you really need to want it for yourself ive tried so many times ive had her in my arms as a baby and as a young lady 💔 We have to Just pray she sees sence and does what her uncle edward wants her to aswell and get into recovery 🙏🏻 #wdr..1nall
@@alicewatt416 Morning Alice 🩷 Thank you her yesterday he made sure she was okay poor we soul😢 I was once were roxanne was 9 years I have been away from that life & i 🙏🏻 one day Roxanne will take the help waiting for her ❤️ it's so sad the young ones of today are lost and stuck in addiction some as young as 12,13 yrs old and they don't know what or who to turn to 💔 They think that's a freind selling that stuff to them when in reality no freind would offer you the devil's dust 😭 Have a lovely week ahead 🩷🙏🏻
As you know Billy from my previous comments, I work with addicted people and homeless and one of the biggest problems with the homeless is, we get them into rehab, we get them off the drugs or the alcohol, then when they leave rehab because they are homeless we stick them in emergency accommodation that is full of addicts, and alcoholics, no wonder they go back to there old ways, this situation helps no one and local councils need to address this urgently
Derek 46 percent of drug related deaths toxicology reports had cannabis in their system. We if we allowed people to grow their own and allowed clubs to bulk buy different strains that people could chose to suit their own needs at reasonable prices, we would be in a better situation. Recovery support has to accept other drug use as a valid form of recovery. Eg Aa must welcome and accept that someone may want to stop alcohol and continue with other substances because if they aren't made to feel welcome they will leave.
Do you ever stop and think - these are people who made the CHOICE to take drugs? In the past my life has been a complete pile of shit, yet the first thing on my mind is not ‘my life is crap - I know, I’ll deliberately search out someone who sells drugs to buy to make me feel better.’ You have to also teach the people about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, and that sometimes, their shit life is THEIR FAULT.
@@peter-cj5fo are you being deliberately difficult or are you really that thick? The ones you go to an ILLEGAL DRUG dealer for. 🙄 No one (unless they have acquired an addiction through something like pain medication) is a VICTIM of drugs - they DECIDE to voluntarily seek out people who PUSH these (again, illegal) drugs, and they DECIDE/CHOOSE to take them.
Billy I love your channel. I'm from Halifax and Leeds. Lost my sister to smack and drink 11 yrs ago. It is so easy to go down that bad road to drugs. I'm so lucky to have a good family and learn from my sisters mistakes. Respect Billy 👍
Brought up on the Wynford estate opposite the plod shop Bill moved to Liverpool for 26 years and moved back home few years ago, very similar cities, good and bad but I'm so glad to be home. Nice one for coming up mate❤ Best wishes pal
@@stacksmalacks8826 I was going to say bahookies (learnt that up there). Had a great time up there. Got there in early 87 and Paisley was covered in black and white flags, I thought oh that's nice of them putting Newcastle United bunting out for me.

You are following my footsteps Billy :) as a child I grew up in the Wyndford Barracks, then some years in Ruchill Smeaton and Mayfield st, then we moved back down to Maryhill Road at 970 which was next to Cash and Carry carpets. I last lived in Acre Road before we came down to London in 86'.
another great video, love your style so much, you care so much and it really comes across and the people you meet open up to you because of it....brilliant
Funny how Scousers got innocent English club teams banned in 1985 with their violence they were happy to be classed as English that year, poor Everton missed out on a chance to defend the Cup Winners Cup and FA Cup winners Man Utd missed a chance to win it, thanks to the Red Lice, scum.
Bill brilliant mate !! really appreciate your work in Glasgow buddy. Am a posso boy or (guy) now lol just good to see you in places that we know !! just wanted to say that mate keep up the good work and inspiring people, hope your well and the family are too ❤. love to your brother as well ! legend
So desperately sad. I think the last interview demonstrated your totally empathy. I felt a heavy sense of hopelessness ,and really respect you for sharing this video although it was difficult to watch. It seems nobody is taking responsibility for the whole situation.
You’ll turn the corner at some point mate then you’ll no look, pills 💊 we’re mine, Valium to be exact, got the jail then never looked back, addiction always ends up 1 of two ways jail or dead ☠️ so all the best
All the very best mate. I was in rehab in largs last year. Lost my dad and hit the drink and coke. Its fuckin hard. I wish you all the best mate. You just need to stay sober for today....1 day at a time. Proud of you. David from glasgow x
Stand in High school teacher asks the 2. Boys and a girl pupils who are late in class " were have you been? First boy says " Up Maryhill ! " And you boy ? Aye miss i wiz up Maryhill as well ."And you missy ?? I um Mary Hill ......😮
The Old "I'm a Scouser shout" does not work up there in Scotland I'm afraid Bill! You're a "Englishman" as the young Lady states Still Salt of the earth people though 👍👍👍
About 5/6 years ago pal I stayed in a moving on house there down the road from MacDonald across the road from the old army barracks my old man's infantry highland light was based there many years ago good times over there 👍😁
Great videos Bill, I live in parkhead, a few miles away from that area. It is far to easy to fall into a life of crime and children are expose to hard drugs at really young age. Its tragic
Those high flats around 8:20 are in the Wyndford scheme in Maryhil. Glasgow Housing Association, now called The Wheatley Group has plans to demolish them and a community centre, taking 900 low rent flats off the market and replace them with 400 mid market rental properties. A campaign group fought to stop the demolition and save the more affordable flats. Now the crazy part. The campaign group was infiltrated by trans activists from outside the community who removed members trying to stop the demolition and used threats of violence and accusations of transphobia against anyone who disagreed with them. Luckily the expelled members formed their own group and with the community onside have managed to delay the demolition.
You got my old flat on video it was one of the high risers. Lived there many years ago when I was young but moved away from there bought a house got a degree have a really nice life now. I'd never change my time in Maryhill no matter what, absolutely loved that part of my life was there. I sometimes go back and visit just to take it all in.
Gotta love the Glasgae accent. Great vid as ever Billy lad. It sounds weird but it feels like folk know you personally , on the comments I mean , must be your manner and the way you come across. Nice one pal.
28 its sad to see this young lass, younger than my own daughter. I hope some off her family see this, horrible, as an addict myself, you know what's in store for her, addiction can be beat . but no way can anybody do it alone.
Love what u do im a recovering alcoholic i had to hit the curb and got told if i drank again i would die off of yhe paramedic. Shame to c someone else hurting so bad hope wee girl turns her life around but only she can do it
Great stuff Billy ye should come out to the shire sometimes. See the wee market towns and smaller towns like motherwell Bellshill carluke and lanark where William Wallace started the rebellion. Its got it good and bad and lots of ancient history and modern problems . You'd be welcome mate
Being brought up ( dragged up) in Stepney East London and now living in the chilterns in Buckinghamshire I have seen both side of the coin.I have a open mind about these people, and never try to judge them.Everyone has a back story, and our life’s can be changed for better or worse in seconds.I hope they navigate their way in a positive way .
I once worked with the German man his name is thorston he was a man of many stories about his time in the military overseas was a very fit and physical man back in 2009 -10 has fallen into the wrong crowds it’s sad to see how he looking nowadays .
wow billy you are covering ground......i mentioned in your possilark vid my dad lived in allander street......but he was born on henderson street in maryhill......whats next ruchill? great videos. toronto
Good content, the guy at the end hes cooked difficult for him to return to a normal life, although I have seen people like him turn it around somehow. The girl is still young and has plenty of chamce to turn it around and lead a good life but depends how much she wants it, first of all she needs to surround herself by people who are going to encourage here to change. Good luck to them both
That’s peoples life’s and I’m in Glasgow and it saddens me we seem to have forgot to look after our own. It’s probably early morning and he’s out his face. You go abroad and you notice something is missing, you can’t place it then you realise the place is clean and tidy and seems safe and people don’t drop litter or wreck things for the sake of it and take pride in where they live. Obviously people have problems and go down the spiral, good luck to these guys it can happen to anyone.
Legend bill. Hope you paid your old 20 year plus pal George a visit when bk down here. ! Great content. Think you would do great numbers doing live audience in Glasgow. People can relate to you bill. 🙏
Those high rises are literally a 10 min walk from million pound houses. Shows you how much the postcode lottery can make all the difference. St George's Cross isn't really classed as Maryhill it's really its own area.
Beeing from dundee, scotland, im a regular visitor to glasgow. Especially barlinnie prison lol. Glasgows like everywhere, there's good and bad. If your streetwise you ll survive..
Thanks for showing a bit of humanity. Hope that we’ve treated you with respect whilst you’re here Billy. And yes he isn’t English - but he’s Scouse. ☺️👏 (Unfortunately met lot’s of Scousers, all very game 99% gentlemen, up the Big House🙄😏✌️)
Billy you should do video just purely based on central west scotland. Coatbridge and Airdrie in particular are two of the most deprived areas in the the u.k nevermind scotland.
Just a thought. I know it's important to highlight real life struggles that individuals go through, and hearing voices straight from the street is invaluable for us to learn. Is it possible to also find and show videos of the Supporting Groups in the places you visit? Show viewers and people you meet a link for help, if they decide to follow it up, and to show a glimmer of light to those in the areas to go to, and more importantly to shout out the groups in these communities who do give positive opportunities and make a difference in people's lives. TYIA
