@@BoombapArt As you mentioned so long as you have the Maschine 2 software then you're good to go. True story - it took me 18 months to figure out you can scratch on the 'PT01 SCRATCH'.

Oh, but the “switch” it comes with isn’t the best.. but I’ve seen a lot of people replacing it with a “Jesse Fader”.

@@BoombapArt I have seen people modifying them but I'm gonna get my baby scratch down before advancing! Ah the switch, i've had occasions when I can't figure out why there is no signal to my interface/sampler - because i've knocked the switch slightly! i now know, but it drove me crazy when I first got it. This has got me back in the mood, so thank you i'm gonna go chop and practice! 👊

There’s some crazy mods available, you can pretty much replace all the parts + with a bit of knowledge add stop/start button, usb flash stick connector etc 🤯. I know the feeling, been there.. so frustrating checking all the cables and then found out it was that damn switch 😅

Good point! I can mention that in another video, but It’s harder than setting your loopback as input and now you can sample RU-vid, Spotify, Netflix or whatever 😊.. if you don’t own a 404 and turntable. One option could be to buy the RC-20 for some texturing 👌🏻

That’s a good question, but I think it’s possible to have like a mixer and Maschine in sync.. not sure about ProTools tho.

Sure, definitely something I could cover. Do you have the Mikro or the MK3? I do most of the adjustments on the fly using the MK3 controller, the arrangement and everything, but once I’m done I export the whole track and use Adobe Audition and use iZotope for some final touches.

Yes you can. All you have to do really is to have the beat ready, pick a pad in a group you wanna record your scratching and hit record and start scratching.

Yea you can add whatever samples you want, or sample from a vinyl into the software directly on the pads.. endless possibilities 😉

@@BoombapArt And they stay inside the internal memory? So i don't need to have a computer during concert? Hope I am right. Do you think that Maschine is easier and simpler for that in comparison to Presonus Atom? I need something very simple that mostly is related to my own samples without any beats and rythyms. It's more contemporary/experimental. Would that Maschine be good for that?

@@ianmoon3063 the Mikro doesn’t have an internal memory it’s just a simple pad/midi controller so you will need a computer, same with Maschine MK3. The Maschine Plus is a standalone device, quite expensive if you’re only planning on storing samples, but you have other options like SP404, MC101, Verselab MV1, MPC One. The most versatile in my opinion is the SP404, can store a lots of samples, perform songs, process incoming signals, add fx on top and trigger samples and of course make music with it! However, the Mikro is a cheap option if you’re willing to bring the computer!

I don’t think you can, or maybe 🤔. Both controllers have the same functions that controls the software.. like if you press a group for example. Maybe there’s a way to set things up via midi channels, one uses group A and second one uses B. Imma test it out. I’ll get back!

Yes you can hook up both and play two different sets.. I’m not 100% sure about the midi routing, just hooked them up, but getting a few double triggers.. but it’s doable for sure!

@@BoombapArt oh so you tried both you have the mk3 and mikro how did you link them together

@@pierrefitch yes, I hooked up my Maschine Plus via usb and once I hooked up the Mikro it turned into midi mode.. and from the software I could set up the different devices for each group.

You can’t “sample into” the MK3 Mikro.. I think I talked about that in the video 🤔
