Please don’t add an active balancer! So many people have convinced themselves they’re necessary due to videos from RU-vidrs making money from selling active balancers… but I trust Seplos as an engineering company to know that passive balancing is much safer and perfectly adequate for normal systems without faulty cells.

Let them add active balancers to their BMS. To satisfy someone like you, they should give end users the ability to turn off active balancing of cells. Remember Seplos sell their BMSs to anyone who cares to buy from them (even without buying cells or batteries from them). If I choose to use grade B or recycled or poorly matched cells with a Seplos BMS, let the active balancing be available to me. Someone like you who has perfectly matched grade A cells can simply turn that function off. I'll like to request that they include Bluetooth as well. Again you can simply ignore that it If you don't need it. All their BMSs should also be rs485 and CAN compatible too. Right now some communicate via CAN and others via rs485 and this is confusing.

Please don't add a high amperage active balancer. Some people don't understand how your system works over time under normal use. They have been convinced by youtube but not their own experience. The design works as it is. You have a good design.

Ray, love your channel buddy. But active balancing for the 280 amd above cells works extremely well with the JK BMS's. An active balancer on Seplos would help those who build their kits without taking the time to top balance first have better results. I agree with Andy at Off Grid Garage on that point. I have JK and now multiple iterations of Seplos in both 135ah and 280ah kits, and the JK DIY batteries stay very constant across discharge and charge. It would not hurt as an option that can be on or off. If you want the current passive method, then just turn off active.

When are you going to start shipping? Have ordered a box 1 month ago and it's not shipped yet. Seplos contact is not sincer with me to tell me what is the hold up. Please let your customers know about the delays.
