thank you for the education. I have a 2008 Honda accord 2.4L with DTC P0341. vibration/shaking at idle without gear. Hesitation first then sudden jump when accelerating from a stop. Also very high negative fuel trims -17 and -19. Please advice

Had this today. The shop tried to charge me $200 to swap out my MAF. Which is on top the engine, to the right, two small phillip head screws, which would have took them less than 5 seconds to do. And then I price checked NAPA Auto parts, who wanted $110 for an MAF plus another $50 core charge to refurb it. Sooooo, I went to AutoZone and got one for $88 No core charges. Absolute pain in the ass. It's a toaster for God's sake! Also, just to spite the shop, I did grabb my screwdriver, to show him how easy it was vs his $200 BS. I'm a girl yes, but not mechanically stupid. Just changing the oil on this car only takes me a few flipping minutes. It's why I bought the car in the first place, easy maintenance. ((Unless you're trying to change out your belts, that bolt B on the alternator is a real trivial pursuit. Makes you cuss like a pirate. One that I still can't get off...unless, someone can make a video where they show both A & B being loosened I'd be all for it. Cause doing just A won't cut it!))

Is it true check air sensor method...when engine works.. to disconnect sensor cable... if engine stops sensor is ok.. and if engine still working.. is bad sensor ?

I have a question I just installed a intake on my 2010 civic it ran perfect with the stock air box but not it’s throwing a code for throttle spring malfunction I can’t seem to find the issue it runs for 5-10 sec then shuts off also my check engine light is on

I don't have any of these systems except rough idle. The code is coming up PO102 Mass Air Flow Sensor....but it does also say misfire on 3....

What’s the first symptom of a smoke detector flat battery?

I have a 2000 ford F-150. It starts great when it cold. But when it warms up, it takes longer to start. Could this be a bad mass flow sensor or maybe the fuel pump? I've noticed over the years the it doesn't have the same pick up that it used to have. Its not the plugs because I've recently changed them. The gas mileage is ok but I think it should be better. It runs good when it idles. It has no misses.

hope this is the issue im facing. driving home from work friday. car ran like a champ. so indication anything was wrong. went saturday to go to the store and there was rough sounding grinding and it has a rough idle. when trying to drive, it has virtually no acceleration and my foot was to the floor and i was crawling.

So I went to check it at autozone and I got the MAF code , but it also tells me I have a VTM-4 light on and to check my emission system. Will replacing the MAF fix this ?

What about slow accelerating,my Toyota Camry right now some times I had to press the accelerating pedal all the ay in order to run the car,and some times it works good,that symptom might be the mass air flow sensor???

I need some help. I have a car that runs fine when I put my air conditioner, it was running fine and then it shut down on me. When I went to restart the car, it was hard to start a couple of times. How would I know if it’s the map flow sensor or the idle control valve because the AC works just fine

hello there! i have the 2015 verso 1.6 diesel and the check engine light comes on with a p00bd fault code which refers to the mass air filter. i've done everything from changing the maf sensor to cleaning the air intake manifold but the faults pops up again and again. my electrician has inspected it twice and sais there is no wiring problem. any idea what it can be???

My Toyota Mark 2 runs fine but when the check engine light comes on, the car loses power and it doesnt respond to the gas pedal while the engine still runs. The engine dont respond either to the gas pedal(Engine sound stays the same). A machenic diagnosed it and showed a faulty MAF Sensor. I need help if this is the sole reason for this issue or there could be other contributing engine faults as well. Please help a brother out. I'll greatly appreciate a response to my comment please.

My 2015 Nissian Sentra was having issues more gas wasted and the pedal to the floor and it wouldn’t run. I thought it was the transmission but it wasn’t it was the air flow censor the air flow was killing my gas usage and lost of power

Hi. Thank you for the vid. I have a Vauxhall mokka (maybe Opel Mokka across the pond) I've had power/smoking issues for months now. If I need to put my foot down enough for the turbo to kick in (I know nothing about cars...) it will struggle really badly and start smoking from the exhaust really badly. So far, I've had the turbo replaced and it's since passed it's MOT... The issue is some what better, as it doesn't seem to try to stall anymore, but I'm not putting my foot down, as I'm avoiding motorways etc, so difficult to tell how bad the issue still is as I'm terrified of the pushing it and the engine blowing up!. My engine management light now keeps coming on and that's what's brought me to your vid after getting this error code. The car is currently not really fit for purpose.. I feel like this error code is now resulting from the initial problem... Does that make sense? Could the maf have started the issue without actually showing the error code or had the initial error caused the maf to go bad?.. Either way, I'm pulling my hair out and have more money to throw at it, so any advice would be truely appreciated

Well i had problems with acceleration on highway if i passes like 160 km/h if i tried after that to accelerate the car open and closed air coming i cleaned the maf sensor and now engine light is on i think i have to put a new maf sensor ??

I own a 1993 ford crown Victoria., it’s in pretty rough shape, my friend gave it to me after it had been sitting in some lady’s driveway for around 14 years give or take, I got the fuel pump replaced and had it running quite well to be honest, it didn’t have a misfire or shake or anything like that, the next day I decided to go out in a quick little joyride. Hop in, turn the key and oh. That startup sounded really rough. I didn’t think too much of it until I put it into gear. Dear god that thing shook so bad. Sorry about the long comment but does this sound like a bad MAF sensor, or something different? Please let me know!

will the MAF sensor throw a code if its throwing black smoke?

When im driving sometimes in like 2.5K- 4K RPMs it'll feel like a halt and RPMs wont go up for a couple seconds but then it goes back to normal, could this be caused by a bad MAF sensor?

OMG! this video was made for me to see!!! unfortunately almost of this symptoms are showing on my Hyundai Starex 2002 :-( thats shows a high reading of 24.5 (g/s) instead of 11.4 (g/s) but altleast now all i have to do is to replace my MAF coz i do get a lot of trip going to the gas station,thanks bro!!!

Could this also be why my car is randomly jerking now when it shifts gears? I had issues with my MAFS and have cleaned it with the spray a couple times, changed it out once but I think the new one was bad so I took it back and put the old one back in for now

What does it mean if the sound coming out of the muffler sound spuddery..also the van seems to excelerate good buuuuut if I’m in park and I rev the engine it feels like it’s rumbles a bit..the motor slightly has a rumble feel and sound,also the exhaust sound spuddery muffley sound..lol..I thought the exhaust air sound coming out should be a constant pressure and sound..not a spuddered sound..

Well since I got the car it’s been giving me the engine light so I cleaned outThe airflow sensor it didn’t work two weeks later it came back on giving me the same reading so I replaced it all together and it’s still giving me that reading I don’t know what it can be if you can please help I’m going to test it this weekend by starting the car and I’m plugging the sensor and if it stops the sensors good if it keeps running it’s bad but then again I don’t know what else it could be

Could a faulty mass air flow sensor cause a jump in rpm when accelerating? My car does this when I reach around 30mph, just a quick jump from like 1500 to 2000 then back to 1500. After that it drives like normal. Slight shake at idle as well, sometimes.

I've been to the garage first they fit on a new cat converter I could tell the heat shield was rattling and it sounded rough. New cat 🐈 fitted and it still sounds like it's roaring when I get over 30mph by the time I get to 50 it's like a jet engine I wouldn't even attempt 60 in case it took off. I don't have any of these symptoms on this video accept for what I mentioned they ran it through the computer and said its the maf sensor and as always they try to make you pay for plugs, the plugs are new and the exhaust is fine it's been up on a ramp in a separate exhaust and tyre place they said nothing is wrong with the exhaust as did a separate m.o.t tester. Watching this video has just put a spanner in the works but it does sound like a air to fuel ratio problem it's 18 years old and never ever broken down or had more that about 100 pounds u.k sterling spent on it per m.o.t obviously tyres too but I sort that before the m.o.t , it has a new m.o.t now it's still only 70k and its so ugly that it makes me look good so I want to keep it. This car is like double dating always take a uglier wingman. Any idea guys or gals what the issue sounds like to you? Be good to get some solid advice. My codes were p0171 I thought it was my oxygen sensor but it was my maf sensor
