lol i cant decide between my favorite possible shepard response to that situation... either that line, or broshep says something along the liine of kick her ass XD
This dlc is the single most beautiful human achievement that has ever existed. Ever. The moon landing, the UN, the eventual achievement of world peace, all dwarfed by Mass Effect: Citadel.
I like Joker's reference to backs lighting up during sex: Tricia Helfer, the voice of EDI, had a glowing spine during sex in the first episode of Battlestar Galactica.
I think it's if you have a quieter, calmer party, Zaeed and Garrus get bored and start booby-trapping the apartment. A Romanced Garrus comes across as adorably paranoid for his girlfriend's safety. "Shepard, sweetie, love of my life, indulge your crazy boyfriend. I need to know you're safe." Non-romanced Garrus and Zaeed are just having fun in their own way. But yes, Shepard points out the flaws in the hot tub plan, and Zaeed pouts, then goes about undoing it.
I've always liked how Traynor doesn't question that she just got kicked off the ship by "Shepard" but then sees another Shepard come around the corner from OFF the ship
It seemed to me like Traynor was confused as to why "Shepard's" personality did a sudden 180 and she was kicked off the ship for fraternization, and also confused as to how Shepard suddenly appeared in front of her from off the ship.
I absolutely love this DLC. And it's a shame Traynor wasn't in it for longer because she is so funny and such a good character. If I'm not romancing her, I totally ship her and Edi.
I was JUST about to comment about this,it actually is quite funny how he is literally dancing the EXACT same Godamn way,it almost looks like he's mocking Shepards dance by showing her how stupid it looks
The majority of characters do for me too, but there are one or two which are just so flat and casual they don't elicit the same emotions. This is one of them. Jack's scene is similar (IMO)
"im only going to say this once traynor" (quick zoom on the eyes) "My shower... is for winners" who else honestly cant stop laughing and wants this romance to never end
"She's probably going to check to see whether your back lights up during sex" - lol, Battlestar Galactica reference :) And so relevant since it was the same actress that plays EDI voice.
I'll be honest, I'd probably have better feelings about Mass Effect if it kept this sort of tone and tenor throughout. Bioware's best regarded for the character bits and the witty banter and whatnot, right? And this DLC shows they've still got that somewhere inside of them. The serious, dramatic stuff is fine too if it's done well, but uh, we saw how well trying to be Deep and Meaningful and Sad worked for them in the end, huh. At least this way the fans are happy if they get all this stuff? Bioware didn't seem to fully grasp until recently that they'd hit on a freaking jackpot, an entire cast of characters people really, really, really liked. Like, literally to the point where you could just hang out with them and shoot the shit and people eat that up way more than the standard gameplay. I have serious problems with the series starting like at the beginning of ME2 onwards but this whole DLC put a huge smile on my face. Darker is not better and lighter is not worse.
Actually, expanding on my thought, if the entire Mass Effect series was literally just 3 thirty-hour games of chatting to squadmates and upgrading a house or some shit I would buy the hell out of it.
HuntrBlackLuna I think the DLC is successful because of how much the characters have made an impact on the player. The more of impact they made, the more effective the DLC was. I doubt it would be fun if Urdnot Wrex wasn't there or maybe that's just me but yes, I truly enjoyed this DLC too.
ANd yet so many people hated this DLC because it was "Childish" and "Pointless." It's kinda realistic. You're about to go and probably DIE horribly, might as well have one last hoorah. They also say "The Galaxy is in danger and you're out partying?! WTF!?" Space travel is long and arduous. Who's to say it doesn't take a week or so just to get to one place.
GrabnokTheDestroyer in my case I really wouldn't be doing stuff like this, I'd probably end up being one of the many dead well before something like this even came up, however if it did I simply wouldn't be apart of it. Honestly though, I wouldn't mind this dlc at all.
this romance is so much better than manshepard and cortez. it's appropriate to the time period in which they've known each other. it's driven by passion and excitement and fun. the cortez romance has way too much fluffy "I love you forever" "the notebook" vibes to it and it's just inappropriate given the recent passing of steve's husband and the short time they've known each other. I hate it. love this romance though. bioware you got 1/2 gay romances right.
Tali was on point in the Citadel DLC. Love her snark. She'll always gonna be my virtual babe. Even my wife says it's cool to cheat on her if Tali somehow becomes a real person.
When I played this DLC and knew what fate awaited my Shepard, I really let out a few tears knowing I was going to never seen my friends again and I was destined to die...
+Shinigamimon you can live through the whole ending if you have a high enough readiness and chose the destroy ending. The relay points remain intact and will only take a few years to be rebuilt.
A Neon Chicken But that's not the ideal choice as you kill not only the Reapers but also sacrifice the Geth who I worked so fucking hard in ME2 to make up with the Quarians in ME3 and even EDI who deserve to live just as much as any organic life so in good conscience I couldn't do that and never will. Which makes my Shepard's destiny all the more sad. Unfortunately thanks to the "GOD CHILD" I had no real choice in the matter.
Shinigamimon Actually I believe it is the ideal choice out of all three choices. You shouldn't just force thousands of organic beings to merge with artificial beings. You shouldn't play god and force your will on the whole galaxy. Thus Destroy being the better ending. Saving the entire galaxy and future generations by destroying the reapers. So yeah, it is the ideal choice out of three.
A Neon Chicken Is it really? You clearly didn't read my whole response. In the destroy ending the " god child" clearly states that if you destroy the reapers then you destroy all synthetic life in the process, the Geth and EDI. Do they not have the right to live just as much as organics? So isn't the destroy ending still playing god by deciding the fate of an entire race? If you truly care about all living sentient beings and consider them to be equal then either assimilating the reapers or merging life and synthetic life to create the perfect balance 'IS' ideal because no one race has to be sacrificed while the galaxy either gets an eternal guardian ( Assimilation ending) or gains a brand new perspective and enlightenment about what life truly is by merging organics and synthetics to create the ultimate form of life. Why do you think the destroy option is the renegade choice? Because it's a choice that is immediate in thought without really learning anything about the journey and experience Shepard has walked thus far to get there in other words very selfish as most renegade choices are. That Shepard is one that is cold ruthless and without consideration of others other than the mission " To destroy the reapers" even at the cost of others.
Shinigamimon Destroying the reapers is most ethical choice...You save Millions and Millions of organic beings. The Geth can be rebuilt over time.. They won't be the same but they can be rebuilt. I don't understand why you think forcing people to merge with robots is more ethical. Destroy isn't the renegade choice by the far wtf??? The destroy ending you save millions and millions of species and the future generations.
Samara : '' I sometimes miss my younger days, centuries and centuries of care free sex..'' Jesus christ!! Samara has been getting laid with random dudes for ages!!!!
+Brandon Berry Not just dudes! She's Asari, for all we know she could have been bangin' trees back in her hippy days or something. Oh man, imagine trying to explain to your child that they're the result of one lonely night you spent with a beloved house pet... "Wait I'm half Space Hampster!?"
+Brandon Berry And she's ONLY been doing it for five hundred, six hundred years (she stopped getting laid when she became a Justicar)-- Matriarch Aethyta, Liara's father? She's *1,000*, about as old as an asari can be-- SHE has been getting laid for almost as long as Samara has been *alive*; I bet she can do things that even *other asari* can't even *imagine*.
Alak Lazarus Actually, she only has three (that we know of, anyway, and I think its implied that they are her ONLY ones)-- Rila, Falere, and Mirala (who the player will come to know as Morinth).
Kind of hilarious that there is no nudity where there's supposed to be nudity (e.g. shower scenes, bedroom scenes). Having sex in lycra underwear is not a pleasant experience. Chafes the skin.
This DLC is amazing! I've been watching these for my playthrough's "alternate romances." And they're all awesome! Too bad they didn't include all this originally. It really expands the nature of the characters, and they reference the previous games so well
I just realized I've been watching you for years and didn't realize until now fluffy but that shows something that even a few years ago I loved your videos :)
Samantha is a fine romance option for people who haven't finished all three games, because as nice as she is, you can't help but feel more attached to characters you have known since long, like Garrus or Tali.
Am I the only one who thinks all the characters in the citadel DLC seemed to act and interact like they're a very normal family? it's just adorable! :3
I am sad you don't have more time with her. Alot of the ME 3 only romances make me sad cause you have to stay single most of the time in order to pursue any of the ME3 only romances. I would have like more interactions with Traynor, James, and Cortez. It is sad in a way.
I love Garrus' comment about the Reapers either "Running away (Control, Shepard pulls them out of the galaxy), Melt Down (destroy), or fall in love (Synthesis)".
My heart breaks whenever I remember the ending while watching shit like in 17:40, it is because I believe in indoctrination theory and so have literally cried at each of the endings at least once... Hard not to after spending so much time with all the characters and love interests...
OMG all these scenes are amazing, and I swear the over the top editing they added into this, like the dramatic slit into zoom into eyes! I'd almost think that some one edited these outside the creators! When I get Mass Effect 3 (After replaying Mass effects 1 and 2 once I get them) This DLC is MINE! Kasumi is so funny. As soon as Traynor said "I can't even remember what I said exactly" First thought "Oh no..." Edi, and Tali going on drunkenly about cheese XD *dies*
I ALWAYS figured that scene would be VERY emotional. The Clone Breaking Traynor's heart and lal that, then shocked by a kiss....Very neat. Thanks for posting all the Traynor scenes :D
