In case you're wondering the Sci Fi concept is called "Uplifting" visit a world with more primitive species and teach them advanced stuff that helps their survival. Although it can also apply to animals like chimps or dolphins being given intelligence or biological adaptations to an animal that can allow them to develop intelligence on their own (like giving crows arms and hands for example).

Originally,Thessia happened before the Citadel Coup,and originally Kai Leng captured Javik (he was a must have for the mission,just like Liara) instead of the VI. TIM (obviously) interrogated Javik instead of the VI,and THEN launched an attack on the Citadel because he found out that the Citadel is the catalyst which is necessary to do,guess what,control the Reapers. So yeah,fuck you EA.

The difference is that the Asaris got help discovering everything while we discovered everything on our own so if humanity was as old as the Asaris we would be incredibly more technologically advanced than they are.

Also since prothean cycle there would be around 100 asari genereations so they should be the same geneticaly as prothean left them. Also it seemes strange that humans are considered genetically more deversed (by Mordin) considering evolution of salarians over mere 50 000 years
Just for you in the comments, Liara isn't having a religious crisis or something like that because of what Javik is saying. She's shocked that the Protheans really intervened in their history. Liara doesn't worship Athane. Few Asari do. She even suggests that they just misinterperted a meteor strike.They worship the Godess, a kind of pantheistic or panentheistic religion were the Universe is the Godess or the Godess is the soul of the Universe. What Javik is doing would be equivilent of telling us that the Zoroastrian religion is based on aliens. It would have few implications on most people's faith but it would be staggering to find out that aliens contacted us in the past.
Her biggest surprise is probably realizing she spent most of her life searching the Galaxy for remnants of the Protheans when she could have just stayed home
So does the same with greece and nords. What happened when humans find out that aliens are the equivalent of prothean, watching our ancestors and guiding us

I find the resemblance to Ancient Egypt amazing. First of all, Asari was another name used of the Egyptian god Osiris, during the period of the Middle Kingdom. Add the fact, that there are many theories surrounding the building of the Pyramids involving aliens. Simply amazing.
Well lets say if we would meet aliens like the protheans today, they would seem like gods to us, because any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Impossible in the series's timeline. Protheans disappeared 50,000 years ago, not 2,000. Also, you'd think someone would have noted that Jesus didn't look human... Forgive me, I'm taking the joke too seriously.
I am sure there was. Liara has some explaining to do - When it comes to Shepard: Why your goverment hide beacon FOR SO LONG !? We are at war ! Genocides are at stake ! Not using any sort of barrier so she helped Kai Leng steal Vendetta ? What is she even doing as Shadow Broker ? Did she EVER trained for combat ? When it comes to Javik: Why did you NOT USED DATA ON TIME ! War was avoidable and yet you screwed it ! This knowledge was a tool to avoid Reapers not being used as measure of power in cycle ! And who for sake TRAINED YOU !? Do you REALLY ever looked at your entire old cult of Atheme since beggining of this war ? Seriously, I hated asari after this mission with passion.
Played through the trilogy half a dozen times. Still find new scenarios on RU-vid that I hadn't seen in-game. Truly a masterpiece, this game, despite it's many flaws.
Its kinda beautiful knowing that there was a nobler side to the protheans, one that cared for the asari such they revered them as gods without asking for worship.

there is no way not one Asari ever connected the dots by themselves, knowing that Protheans existed and that they "owe" them their technological accomplishments, they are just like "yeah, these are our gods who gave us the exact same technology that we know for a fact Protheans used, also don't mind that our gods look nothing like us and more like another species of aliens!"
Javik sure knows a lot about Asari history for a soldier especially considering Prothean intervention would likely have been hundreds of years before Javik was born... I guess he would have learned about the most likely species to lead the next cycle in his training but the details he knows are impressive.
Protheans can absorb memories of past protheans from memory shards, something a high ranking general like Javik most likely did. Kind of like how Rachni queens are born with all the knowledge and memories of past rachni queens.

Mass Effect 3 got torn apart by EA. Having played the LE version it feels much more like a complete game. Anyone remember how much they banged on about how much better with Kinect ME3 would be? Lololololol
I highly doubt it the Asari had 1 god only and a few "disiples" of her, humanity has somthing like 4000 different gods, if aliens had truely uplifted us, (and we belived they where gods) like they did the Asari we would have a single or at least similar religion, like the Asari
KennyG881 depends on what God you worship. The Judeo-Christian God has no material form, and on multiple occasions admitted He Himself is God. The Protheans revealed themselves to the Asari, that's why you have ancient manuscripts of them. While God intervened on multiple occasions, He didn't really "teach" anything like the Protheans taught mathematics and farming to the Asari.
I feel like Shepard is trolling here. Externally: "What do you know about this?" Internally: lol, their whole cultural identity and religion are getting destroyed! Maybe one more question...
