This game accomplished something incredible I never thought it could do, it made me appreciate Mass Effect 3 even more.

andromeda is actually pretty damn good once you get to the second planet and the game opens up sure the animation is jank as hell sometimes but the gameplay is clean and addictive i think the biggest problem is that its a mass effect title and our expectations where way too high i see this game following the path of destiny once dlc starts dropping it will end up being exactly what we thought we would get in the first place this is just the landscape of gaming now games get released unfinshed and patched to all hell once the first major dlc drops

Can't help but wonder how the game would have looked if it was directed by Casey Hudson (director of KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3). That guy understood what makes a RPG great. Sadly he left Bioware for Microsoft Studios.

How can Bioware make this game so ugly using frostbite engine when Dice makes Battlefield 1 and Battlefront and they look absolutely amazing

I've been playing ME Andromeda since dayone and i love it. i love the adventure and the self gratifying feeling you get when you've made a planet habitable. i give this game an A+

Making all classes available at the push of a button and removing the karma system KILLS the replayability of the game COMPLETELY! Why would you ever pick the game up again if you've already done everything?

Given the massive love it or hate it response I have been uncertain about whether or not I'd like this game but after this review I feel like I would in fact enjoy playing. Thank you for covering the pitfalls and highlights without seemingly bashing on or praising the game unnecessarily. There really is no way to follow up the original trilogy in any way that would feel like it did it justice, but I like the direction they went with this and I look forward to playing it myself.

When this game was first revealed, I thought it might be a good way to get into the Mass Effect series. I'm probably just going to buy the first game after seeing the reviews.

I actually loved this game. When I heard about the bugs I waited a few months before playing it and actually had a great experience.

I honestly love this game, I'm not really one for going and picking out all the flaws. My main focus when playing is having fun and progressing. Yeah, there might be needed improvements but that doesn't make the game terrible. The characters are awesome too, especially PeeBee. I agree with what you said the original Mass Effects were awesome and commander S. was bad ass, but I'm glad they switch to the Ryder's, it gives a newer and fresher feel. Remember mass effect came out 8-9 years ago, the switch was needed and I love the direction they took in space exploration. Hopefully people can start enjoying the game instead of hating it just because of some facial feature or a bit of a confusing story set up. I promise, if you actually focus on the gameplay and not the small details you'll enjoy this game a lot. Good review btw, subscribed.

B-Tier Mass Effect is exactly right. It's like a bad Star Treck Episode. You can still watch it, it belongs there cause it's in the same universe. You have the same races and sometimes you will get that typical ME Feeling. But you will still get disappointed if you expected something great and it's just a good game nowhere near the brilliance of the old trilogy.

They should redo the ending where Shepherd survives and defeats the Reaper invasion. The council then tells Shepherd, ''Spectre, who knows what hidden evil lays elsewhere in the galaxy, we are not safe, we must expand our reach beyond the milky way galaxy, while you were off we assembled the Andromeda Initiative. You will be the tip of the spear leading several Arc ships to Andromeda. God speed nigga'' that would have been fucking awesome. Because then it would feel like everything was worth it, and depending on how many crew members survived in your playthrough you get to decide if they can accompany you on this journey to Andromeda. Nobody wants to play a Mass Effect game w/o Shepherd. Get a clue BioWare. PLEASE!

Mass Effect: Halo 5 Inquisition? They didn't have much to fix from ME3, the game wasn't broken. This feels like the transition from Halo: Reach to Halo 4/5. It was painful and I still turn back to Halo: Reach.

I'll be picking it up tonight on the way home. Everything Jake highlighted sounded good to me. Graphics don't bother me much, content certainly is there. My girlfriend, myself, and two friends all bought the game. It's pretty good, but it's flaws are based entirely on the fact that the game shares the DragonAge: Inquisition engine (A move that was put fourth by EA since Bioware had Mass Effect on it's own engine in prior games). The biggest complaint that people seem to have is the facial animations. However it should be mentioned that in prior games the faces were all motion-capped from real actors. Unfortunately with how huge the game is (and with few to none of the npcs being copied and pasted like previous games) this has led to them just animating all the faces manually. Overall the game has many improvements compared to the previous games, but the few issues the game does have will probably be pretty noticeable early on. Although personally I don't even notice them anymore. My only major complaint though, is the STUPID choice to make the Multiplayer peer to peer connected since it has made the Multiplayer ridiculously laggy and filled with bugs such as random disconnections, textures not loading, enemies that cannot die, ect. (And this is stuff I have experience playing with friends who all live in the same area/city).

In 2021 I’m touching this game for the first time and I absolutely love it. Can’t get enough. This is also my first ever Mass Effect game I’ve played.

I'm playing on the ps4 pro and have definitely noticed some graphical hiccups. As far as I can tell, this definitely doesn't seem to be as amazing as the first three; however, nostalgia can be a powerful thing. +gameranx, I really think the problem is this game is being held to such a high standard. If it were the first mass effect game ever, I'm sure the score would be sitting in the low 80's. It's like bioware just won third place after only winning all the time. Is third place really that bad? I'll let you all decide. And, worth noting, the witcher 3 was amazing. But, it was unplayable for me for the first 5 months on console thanks to framerate drops and graphical bugs.

I've never played a mass effect game and was hyped to bye this . lag doesn't bother me. horrible quality doesn't bother me. glitches and bugs dont bother me. But I CAN NOT handle those SHITTY animations.

I absolutly loved Andromeda, I played on PS4 for the first time this past year with the last patch released, which did fix some issues, but not all. Even with that, I enjoyed the gameplay, the story and exploration. The only downside the game had was the knowledge that there is no MEA2, because after multiple play throughs and hundreds of hours played, I just wanted more of this game and I was invested enough that I wanted to see where the story goes from here. And if visuals are things you just can't look past, play the game on PC with some mods and you'll grow to love the game, maybe not on the same level as ME2 or ME3, but it is it's own experience.
