I think it was added bc it gave a more 'gears of war' or army weapon feeling and sound. And perhaps bc of people like me building a character to have the cooling as effective as the heating, thus having infinite ammo 😅
I always found it weird that the were scattered everywhere though. Why not just have a clip size and different reload times for each weapon? Keeps the "unlimited ammo" from the first game but also removes the overheat mechanic for a traditional clip size.
@@Kytetiger My Infiltrator Shepard in ME1 was basically a walking tank. It was pretty hilarious in insanity when I would snipe guys and they went *flying*. Some of the builds you could do in that game were gloriously ridiculous.
@@elrey799 But for real, the M7 Lancer is the best assault rifle in ME3. All they had to do is some slight improvements and they could’ve kept their “infinite ammo”
Oh good you’re finally awake. I’m commander Shepard and this is my favourite store on the Citadel. One does not simply wake up here without saying shut up and take my money!
I would expect these developers to keep any charm intact, considering how well they seem to be taking care of this rework. - I am not a Mass Effect fan, I have never played a single game for some reason, so I'm not invested at all. But if I was, I would feel pretty good about what they're doing with this. - Unless it turns out to be a disaster, but it seems like they really care about this. - They're probably all fans of the games, of course. I don't think anyone there is like "ugh Why do I have to work on this crap?!". XD
I wonder how this will affect the reason they give in ME:A that the Mako sucks due to in-game tech reasons? Guess it doesn't matter - much like ME:A...
I never had much of a problem with the mako, except on the rockiest planets. I think I remember the worst one being where you try to rescue Dr. Wayne from Corporal Toombs. That and a couple others were terrible.
This trilogy for me was literally like playing a tv series. All the feels, I am so excited for this. There isn’t a title that I’ve played more then this.
@@poligon333 Come on stop talking like a sheep. Most of the original yeam is still there and the legendary edition will set back the tone for the next game. AND the game is back in the original studio. That said there will be obviously less problems for the developement. Thats a good start.
Hudson should have been fired after ruining the ending of ME3. How can anyone forget the final boss... Marauder Shields. He died trying to save the player from experiencing the shitty ending.
i still to this day don't know why the fuck he said that. he wasn't even comparing it to any previous details - he just said that out of the blue. how do people even like him?
@@KawaiiKittyKat79 "Origins and 2 in one trilogy . . ." Uh, 2 games make a trilogy not. But I echo your sentiment. Remake or remaster of the two would be wicked.
Apparently you will be able to stay in the elevator if you want, there will just be a button press to skip it if you want to opt out. So, best of both worlds. :)
Did people really get enraged by it? When I first played my biggest problem was directions rather than control. I remember wasting close to an hour in the ice planet.
But the thing was a huge target for turrets. And the armor was not the best and the jets do not always hellp to avoid shots. That is why I will always prefer the Hammerhead
@@sirbruno95 I loved the Mako, but I do understand most of the frustrations with it. I felt like the f’d up physics gave it a realistic feel on planets that may have lighter gravity to that of Earth. I just wish the Mako’s physics were based on the lore of the planets it was rode on. Iirc planets listed their gravity in proportion to Earth’s gravity, so a planet with a gravity of .5 should feel floaty. Imagine if you could visit a place where you consistently jumped twice as high and twice as far? Or half as high and half as far
Chill, it's specifically textures. And not all. 4x4=16 For a texture asset to be 4x larger by both dimensions over a 10+ years face-lift is pretty realistic
I don’t get why they even bothered with changing the butt shots, let’s be honest we all know that eventually on the PC there will be a mod to restore the camera angles
@@emikochie2760 It's been years since I played it but I remember the Mako controlled fine on PC. It might have been console controls that were messed up
Yeah really, @@StabStabStabStabby. The console players may have valid reasons why the Mako sucked. On the PC it worked just fine for me. The Mako was never really all that bad of a vehicle for me since I played on the PC. It was usually my piss poor driving that I was a victim of than anything else concerning the Mako.
Never played mass effect until a few days ago, just finished the first and man I am hooked, can't wait to finish the trilogy so I can really appreciate it before the upgrade
I can understand why they didn't want to include it. If they didn't make major changes to the rewards system and just brought back the lootbox model, there would be hell to pay.
Eh, perhaps, and if it does maybe that gives BioWare the confidence to build a sequal. But that's hopeful dreaming, and hopefully people aren't gulible to think such ludicrous things. Although, I did preorder this shit. So I'm gonna be content, plus 40 DLC's, with improved game mechanics, and graphics. It's an absolute win win, regardless of price, paying about 20 for each game, remastered. With the bundled price of $60USD. Can't really beat that.
I mean, it's about the only thing they CAN do. It's the single shred of goodwill they have left. Which makes it all the more baffling that they put Mac Walters in charge, and they've gone in with a "Let's do it, but with the absolute LEAST amount of effort and money spent possible!"
@@MagklJellyBeanPastelLucidDream it's already been confirmed that Bioware is currently working on a sequel. But I do think this "remaster" will greatly impact how they will handle the next game. I feel that if it goes really well, EA may allow them more time and they may put for resources into the sequel. I think this will be a test to see if they can revive the series and strike a cord with not just the veterans but also the youth who never got a chance at playing the trilogy and only say the andromeda failure.
I'd love for the neuralyzer from Men in Black movies to really exist. I'd be all the time playing the ME trilogy, reuralyzing myself and starting over and over.
I don't see how you get this. The player relationship angles were actually kind of minor in all three games. Sure you could go out of your way for some side content but you could breeze through the storylines and dialogue options and miss most of the romance stuff. I felt it was a nice touch to add some realism. I mean if you work with someone enough and there is a shared attraction and common interests. WTF did you expect to happen? It would be weirder with NO romances.
I never played that ending. Refused to play ME3 for like 5 years, saved me lots of time. But then MEHEM came along. Kind of a duct tape fix but still a vast, indispensable improvement
I still don't get what the problem is. People were always gonna bitch about her face because it wasn't what they each wanted it to be. It probably would've been better to remove the photo entirely.
Besides ME1 getting an overhaul, I’m personally not really sold on this edition, doesn’t seem like that good of a deal to those who already own all games and all DLC’s (we have ALOT for visual improvements)
the gameplay improvements are probably worth it but only if the mod community adopts the remaster and ports the mods over - not going to touch it without the extended ending that has shep survive and the romance mod as a bare minimum.
@@djam_945 Those who don't have and haven't played ME yet, this seems like a great deal I won't lie, it's the veterans who should think twice about it.
That is if your original copy of ME1 still works lol, I played it as a kid on a PS3, no idea where the physical copy is. Now Im 25 with a high end PC, worth it to me
I loved the Mass Effect multiplayer. I mean, yeah, I want these games for singleplayer mode, but multiplayer was so much fun and had me feeling much more powerful due to level designs. Being able to warp across the map with biotics and ground pounding to clear out groups of enemies was super satisfying.
Why is no one talking about exactly why the camera angles are being altered? Their reasoning has been out for a good month or two, yet I've only found one video that mentioned why. For those who don't know, here's the long n' short. Only 2 "scene types" are getting this change. 1: When anyone playing fem-shep finds their character sitting in a pose that you really wouldn't see a female sitting in. Specifically, legs spread wide open & letting you see right up her dress (when she's wearing one). Why? Because the animations were not changed between male & female Shepard so fem-shep doesn't seem to have any modesty. 2: Any scene with Miranda where the camera zooms in on her butt, however (& follow me here), the point of said scene is not supposed to be sexy or comedic, but in actuality is supposed to be very serious or even sad. The old camera angles made Shepard feel like a lecher who didn't care & only wanted to see that backside curve when he/she should be focusing on Miranda. I honestly welcome the changes. I primarily play a female Shepard (still annoyed I can't romance Tali as fem-shep, but that's another issue) & always found her rough tomboy personality quite fun, but when she'd sit down in a dress all spread legged like that & flash her crew mates... As for the Miranda bit, it just makes sense. As long as the camera angles are not set weird or they end up changing scenes that should have been left alone, I'm happy.
I'm really glad that they decided to keep the overheat system in ME1, seeing how in the lore they made the change to thermal clips after the attack on the citadel at the end of the game It would be like removing a piece of history from the lore, even Conrad Verner made fun of it in ME3
@@antagonisstic it's very manageable in the early game, I don't see why people complain about it since it's only annoying if you use a weapon mod that does more damage, but even then all you need is a heat sink mod to counteract it
There will be; They stated that they just changed angles for more serious scenes/conversations and like "whoopsie" angles where you'd normally see a male character and would suddenly be looking up someone's dress if it's a female. - They did NOT just remove all the "butt shots"...
@BW yeah I was always confused why the first game had nudity and the subsequent ones never did. Just lingerie at most. Usually sequels get darker and more mature, but ugh I guess not when EA takes over
As a person who entered the franchise with Andromeda, this seems like a good time to jump in and experience the Trilogy for the first time. Looking forward to it
I distinctly remember how atrocious the load times were in ME2 especially when moving between levels of the Normandy which I did between like every mission. So glad to hear that'll be improved
They could add a coop multiplayer, where the host player plays as Shepard and 2 guest players play as the other team members, like Garrus, Liara etc. and the guests can participate in the dialogues with NPCs, influencing the story of the host player. They could also allow the players to take direct control of the other team members, just like in Knights of the old Republic.
Wait what?? "They could also allow the players to take direct control of other team members"? Are you planning to play the game with Harbinger or something?? Assuming direct controllll!
A remaster is mostly visible while a remake is a complete new version from the ground up, I would say this is actually somewhere between with how much changes they're making.
FF7R and Demon Soul's were full on remakes. People bitched about the first not being turn based and the second redesigning enemies before the games were even done. Same will happen here, some are already crying about butt shots and redesigned Fem Shepard and others are complaining not enough is changing. Moral of the story is people will find a way to moan and complain no matter what route they take.
I just got this about a week ago and I'm totally digging it. I feel like I'm playing a novel. I used to get just shooters, but in the last couple years I've gotten into RPGs and it's been nice to revisit a classic series from yesteryear....👍
Mass Effect 1 was the best of the series, before it moved from being an RPG with shooter mechanics to a Shooter with RPG mechanics.. I hope ME1 doesnt lose that
Nope you're completely wrong. I played each game when they released, then the whole lot a second time. It's not a big difference, they're clearly all RPGs first and foremost, and the majority are right, ME2 is the strongest game.
@@cenciende9401 Welp, I guess that takes care of that. So glad I came across this factual opinion from a not one, but TWO times series guru to clear things up! All other thoughts are now invalid
I'd be a bit disappointed if they took out all the ass shots but I think it's mostly about specific scenes that are supposed to have a certain emotional gravity to them. Those games definitely have some scenes that warrant an ass shot.
Yes, that's it. They did not take it all out. - There were also some "unfortunate" angles that didn't intend to be sexual or anything like that at all, but just ended up awkward and they also simply adjusted camera-angles for those. - It just seems like they really care about having it all make sense, which is admirable. - They now had the time to really tweak it all after all these years that the games have been around and played and loved. Whichever people are at BioWare, they seem to be fans.
*Small changes that need to happen that probably won’t:* -More Mass Effect 3 followers (there really is no excuse for Grunt, Miranda, Jacob, Samara, Jack, Zaeed and Kasumi not joining you in the Normandy) -Not being limited to certain guns in Mass Effect 2. -Being able to make different choices instead of being forced to be full Paragon or Renegade. -Morinth being her own character instead of being a pointless Samara wannabe in Mass Effect 2. -weapon models need to stop randomly changing during cutscenes. -Garrus and Legion fixing their armor in Mass Effect 2 instead of having a big broken chunk the *entire game*
I’m excited to play through this again. I just hope that they add a little something for the old school fans that played through them a bunch of times. At least give me an achievement for collecting all the asari matriarch writings. I got 100% in every solar system my first play through and was pretty surprised when nothing happened
Best dialogue was Conrad Verner questioning the implementation of thermal clips in ME3 and then he hits you with his doctorate dissertation as a war asset lol
I'm actually excited for this. I have played through ME more times than any other game, especially the 2nd one. I just have to wonder how much of a disappointment it will turn out to be since that seems to be the theme in gaming lately.
I am beyond thrilled for this. I spent the summer after graduating high school playing the entire trilogy and Im going to spend as much time as I can dedicate to replaying the remaster as well!
I've never gotten one of these kind of collections if I've already played the game. I might get this one though. Loved mass effect. Even liked andromeda.
