@@SimonRoyal-f6x yes it’s a separate wire, the constant live is from the power to the light switch. The power to the light switch is from the constant live on the ignition switch

Thank you, No there should be a live in terminal on the switch which then gives a live connection to 1,2,3&4 terminals using just the one connection/wire

tractionengine11 - Thanks for the message, terminals 1,2 & 3 are doubles and 4 is a single. That’s all I’ve got on the switch.

4 should be the power in Terminals 1. Side light 2. Headlight dipped 3. Headlight main beam

One final question my headlights have a black red and white wire I’m guessing neutral - live and dipped beam

I used a constant love from the ignition switch then connected the live wires up of each set of lights to the terminals on the switch

There should be a hole in the side of the plastic knob which you push in and remove then it’s just a nut to undo and it pulls out from behind the dashboard The other type fitted had a flat headed screw in the plastic knob which you undo and pull off then you need to remove the locking nut behind and remove from the back of the dashboard like in the first example
