I have a 5711, it is a fantastic tractor, powerful, comfortable yet compact. You can work all day and not feel tired at the end. The shift does become natural very quickly.
Yep looks like Massey put some thought into it and I suppose if you didn't like it then the software could be re written to have it working just one way
One thing I would have is a door release catch in the door frame. From the seat bit of a reach to the inner door handle. Will save the back from over stretching. Did they show you you can change gear on the power shuttle?
I've a 2018 model 5711 I got last year, had a really good deal on it as it came into the dealer as a part-ex - only downside is a short warranty, and I do have a small issue I'm still waiting for my dealer to sort but struggling to get them to come out! Otherwise, great, versatile tractor with everything you need and nothing you don't. Mine's the 12x12 manual transmission, that Dyna-4 is definitely the one to go with after living with it for a while, you have the option of the suspended cab with the Dyna box too so much more comfort.
I bought a MF 5713 last year to add to the 2006 MF 5455, it's got more stuff on it than that 5711, like headland management, and gearchange, direction change and declutch button on the loader joystick, but that 5711 had the most important stuff that I use most often on it. Wonder what the price difference between the M and S ranges is
South Texas Cattle and Hay saying, nice review on the tractor. I did not like the ignition placement, I think I would hit it by accident and snap the key off. Thank you for the honest review.
I know nothing about cars let alone trackers . I had a old VW van could do a little tinker there . But I hate bells and whistle , all the extra , there just another problem . The car I got now is modest , but I have a automatic window that sticks . I hate it's on the driver side .another thing to fix . Good review thank you , very practical . I think every is too expensive .
Fair review 👌 some one from zetor needs to get you on for demo.. mind you you really only need your two tractors to get a health check and repairs to last you a lot longer. Iv I was a bit closer I would be round to help with that. Stay safe sir 🏴
So true, a proper full service would go a long way with both mcormick tractors. Parts and fluids are getting more and more expensive but they are tax deductible and its farr cheaper than doing major repairs or changing them out. Nothing i run is brand new but I service everything each year as per the service intervals and do repairs immediately as things break. The most fatal thing is to cumulatively leave little faults.
Hi Richard, your a mad man but enjoyable mad 😂 They are lovely lovely farmers tractor Iv used a 1600 gal tanker a 8ft topper trailer work a real all rounder only as you said a little expensive. I'd say to you look at a good 6290 it's great tractor and dyna 4. Ask salesman. Keep the good work up
maybe another add on and money saving is using a salage helping with the salage out weigh a few savings on more work load for a bigger stockmans tractor has its advantages i think its the perfect tractor for your farm
Nice size tractor a lot off people have tractors with high horse power and never need the extra power I think know the price off fuel farmers will be reviewing this 🐴🐴
i think a new mower is your first buy ready for next season now your down to the older small one , and as you say, just wait for a few years and get a trade in , that sort of tractor will be a low hour one as it will mostly be a yard small holder thing, like you,
Have you priced up aftermarket AC for one of the McCormicks? It seems to me the biggest issue there is the lack of AC. It might be a game-changer for one of those machines.
Just polish up the widows, inside and out, on yer old kit and your good to go for a few more years. Give it a proper through servicing. Start saving for a new one later. Work safe. ✌️🇺🇲👍
Could you get a decent sensible architect in to design/conversion of those lovely farm buildings in your film to create "on farm" holiday accomodation investment? Just a thought. Good luck and thanks for another excellent vlog.
You like that tractor but honestly try the new Holland t5 same as Ian had I know it's abit bigger but it's a fair better tractor alot more comfortable and less likely to go wrong
i was gonna say if you traded one of the mccormicks would it make a difference with second hand tractors they seem to be just as expensive as new and ike you say you dont get the benefits of discounts subsidies and cheaper finance the only added benefit i can see with saving money is carting salage witht the contracters each year to save a bit being a bigger tractor
All good things must come to an end sooner or later. At least you and Harry had some fun with it. One day your cow will come in with the golden milk which will allow you to buy a new tractor and mower. Project Funky Farmer energy and the heavens will hear you. :) :)
I guess he wasn’t far off his retirement when he did the video with you mending the 265 wheel bearing. I’ve plenty of time for those old characters who have the many years of experience under their belts🙂 I've just watched the video again, I can't believe it was 8 years ago... Where's that gone!! I think Dave would find a big change at Lister's with the Kubotas they're now selling
Awesome and sad 😂 had to laugh at scratch cards that was wishful thinking been there and done that when some land came up for sale 🤣🤣 We all dream Richard Take care mate 👍
You could have cleaned the floor off, usually the dealers are taking the demos elsewhere. Personally I would hand it back in the condition it was delivered.
On a serious note for resale value surely you need some tech in the tractor so you can reach a wider audience if you decide to sell it and keep a higher resale value.
Interesting my father could have brought brand new but choose second hand n after looking around I said to dad that McCormick MC130 would be right size, efficient four cylinder n comes with loader. After that dad had buyers regret that maybe smaller new tractor would be better. I said to dad a bigger tractor gives you more options with higher hydraulic output, time is money n cost of fuel this will better in long run. I just wish dad n his brother when they were in farming partnership should had brought this tractor instead wasting money on old Chamberlain Loadstar with two engine rebuilds, s*** gearbox n slow as with no cab.
Could you not trade in your other tractors as you can only drive one at once. We made the mistake of keeping a loader tractor and spending thousands repairing it before it became financially a stupid decision to keep it. We bought a new kubota m5 111 with 5 years warranty so now no worries
@@autisticpainter4079 As an ex-service engineer I can tell you that masseys are some of the most troublesome piles of shat going. They leave the factory with rust and problems 😂😂🤣🤣
