A simple woman, I am. I can work with all these deutsche Spruchbänder, I understand, why. My language is, can be, hard. That's what I love about this band. About Massive attack. Absolute musicality. Yeah!
To watch 3D Del Naja explode during Atlas Air by DANCING no less was truly blissful. Usually subdued and calm, this ending to the show gave me the chills.
Atlas Air… How do you manage to produce such a dense wall of sound while simultaneously remaining incredibly atmospheric and light? Absolutely stunning… Truly breathtaking!
Whoever the singer is standing in for Shara Nelson during Unfinished Sympathy brought a tear to my eye. She TOTALLY owned the song. Props to her. Well worth a listen, a beautiful soulful performance.
i might sound old but this is a show! not much compares to a Massive Attack. really thoughtful, well executed, political, talented. hope they are discovered by younger musicians and someone takes the torch. LOVE EM!
All my life I will be repenting because they came to Bogota-Colombia some years ago, but I cannot go to their concert. Really this opportunity I doubt that I will have again; however, I never will let to see this video, is marvelous, thank you by share it.

This brings so much good memories...Saw them twice : in 98 in Toulouse, and in 2009 in Marseille. Without Massive Attack, the music scene would have been so different...They are simply above "Trip Hop", "Cold Electro Wave" or some others categories...One of the bands that really changed my life for sure...
Massive Attack was a reference in the music industry...But the last album "Heligoland" didn't match "Mezzanine" for sure. It was not bad at all, but not striking though...I am wondering if the band will ever record an other album in the future...
+Oumayma Garess Oh really ! Cheers for the information ! I am living in the South, I will check if there is any planned date in Marseille. Tricky should be part of this new album if I remember a short subject I saw on TV 2 years ago mentionning that he will record with the band. Looking forward to hearing the stuff then !
@@olyalebeduk1721 "NoJK" ? Don't get it ! Actually, I saw the band a third time in July 2018 at the Roman Arena in Nîmes... It was too short (about 1 hour and 30 min) and some rappers guys joined them on stage... I was a bit disappointed for sure !
I don’t believe in god, but thank god that this particular set has been captured on audiovisual - and edited to perfection - so that future generations may glimpse through a window in time and awe at what great music played live can sound like.
Unbelievable, I've seen them two twice at Bucharest (2008 and 2010) ... still feel that amazing experience ! From this video, United Snakes and Atlas Air are purely "mind blowing"
just brilliant...massive attack: you arrived into my life when i was pregnant with my second son and from then on you have become part of his life...i saw you in Melbourne AUS on yr first tour - such a small crowd but we surely danced all night and appreciated the luxury of having you to ourselves that cold night - and now you are being played by my musician lad to all his friends at their parties. this is definitely one of the BEST concerts ever. love from down under in the antipodes!
That's Massive Attack for you. Just two average guys with few other artists to sing stuff they can't sing themselves properly, but which also sounds fucking awesome
@@dannyhogenkamp1385 To be fair, the entire set is just sublime. Great to see the keyboardist have centre stage. He’s the keystone. The end of Atlas Air is also pure magic ❤️🤩 Greetings from Stockholm!!
100%, best version EVER! The groove in the outtro from 35:00 onward gives me goosebumps, tears and and uncontrollable urge to rock my head back end front. Wish it could last much longer....
Massive as well as Portis & Tricky has made such a great influence in my life. thank's to the three of them as well as all the people whom we confirmed their inspiration to make music. Great concert!
Oh man. Get to see them live if you can. Fucking amazing band, consistently cranking out great music for 25+ years. Even better live than on disk. #Go Bristol. #MassiveHeartOn
In July 2010 Massive Attack where in the position they could sound any way they wanted to. They where truly genre transcending and progressive with tunes that evolved gently into one another. It starts out with some hardcore techno, then some progressive rock with The Leather Nuns haunting Desolation Avenue from 1985 in the outro. Beautiful trip-hop soulsong Safe from harm ends in a jam session with salutations to Sonic Youth and Rage against the machine. Traditional rhythm and harmonies from the middle east with laid back toasting follows. The last song, enter a hammond organ with disteffect, has a Doors vibe to it. You only wait for Jim Morrison to step up to the mike. The song evolves into progressive rock electronica, not unlike todays Floating Points. It´s amazing. How wide can a span of inspiration be? And yet, it has such a light touch to it.
I Saw Massive Attack in 2004 at Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon and people....2 hours of magic...best concert ever for me...still can not find words for what I felt in those 2 hours...OMG!!! Masters!!!!
"safe from harm" is probably one of the best musical "clones" IMO. awesome version! the original is by billy cobham, to find on his first solo-album "spectrum" from 1973 and is called "stratus". with BC played tommy bolin+ (g), jan hammer (kbds), and the unbelievable bass-riff is played by leland sklar. and - the whole album was recorded in 2 (!) days at electric lady.
Everything old is new again. Safe from Harm is easily one of my favorite Massive Attack tunes. I just listened to the song Stratus on Billy Cobham's debut album... WOW, just fucking wow! Tommy Bolin was dead barely 3 years later. And Leland Sklar's bass rift is straight up out of this world.
I need a(nother) Massive Attack gig so bad...been some years since the last one. Please come back to Portugal. Thousand of big fans here, always a safe harbor for MA.
I saw them live this same year in Brazil, and it's true, the whole scenario is a msut seen, so to film them in close ups is not the best way to feel and sense a Massive Attack concert. Anyway, it's a shame they didn't release their concerts in DVD yet. And Martina is such a great singer and such a lovely person! After the concert she came to the audience, took pictures and signed cds for us, even looking very tired after all!
massive attack is one of the greatest electronic groups ever. classic ps. skrillex nothing more than a dance floor. this music is artistically deeper on so many levels.
Bring me back 2 the I don't give a fuck days of the 90eez😭 Early to mid 90eez was special time in music specially dance/electronic music watever the fuck you wanna call it but what days, Saw these around 1996 here in Dublin what a night but had so many great memories 👍🇮🇪🇮🇪
People who say how art should be done don’t know much about art. Should all painting to be done live in front of an audience? Those samples were recorded, looped and trimmed before Massive Attack took them on stage. Art is art! It is presented to you the way the artist intends. To constrict art is to not understand art.
they are the best. No se me ocurre otra cosa. Es que alucino con ellos desde hace ya muchos años. No tienen pérdida para nada. En trance de verlos de nuevo.
