When I was a fan of NIN in the 90s i never thought Trent would make it this far or this long. He was so dark. But he took care of himself. It's so great to hear him still performing those old songs from The Downward Spiral and hearing it meshed with his new creations. He's looking healthy and sharp. But I wish he had long hair.

It's been nearly ten years since I attended this concert. Entranced as I was by the unique light show, the extra sauce which flavored the songs thanks to Lisa Fischer and Sharlotte Gibson was simply magnificent. I cried pretty much the entire time, overcome with tenderness and beauty and grief. Every NIN show holds its own special corner in my heart, but this incarnation took the breadth of the music to another level; truly a special memory.

That’s very cool. Yes, Trent is quite the Poet and is wonderful at writing music that evokes feeling. His embracement of the dark side of being alive is insurmountable. Oh and just because you had a tear does t mean you’re a gay, or weak at all. It just means that you can really explore pain. Best, oh and to the degree you dug the vocals and the chicks contribution and I happened to dislike it. It seems like it takes away from the dark.

NIN has helped me with that for years. Trent's music is so honest, it's hard to think of another artist who can translate their emotions into music, and have his lyrics be vague enough to be relatable. Maybe Radiohead with a song like Creep.

definitely up there. 2nd to only Tool imho as far as lighting and trippy visuals but even that is an unfair comparison because of the difference in styles as this is a far more intense stage presence and as such, the light show is used to greater effect here whereas Tool takes much relaxed and,nuanced approach as well as utilizing the,greatest visual effects possibly ever and the lighting is used more to enhance said visuals. They both sound pitch perfect live which is incredible considering how tight the original compositions are. 2 of the greatest bands to ever do it live. The 2 best actually imo... and they are still doing it as good now as they were 2 decades ago. breath takingly incredible

Dennis Alvey Just out of curiosity - do you have any arguments to claim that Rubin is the best? I mean everyone can have their own opinion for sure but it usually based on something.. Maybe you're gay and love Rubin from the highschool or maybe you like his haircut so much that he became the best for you?
@DennisAlvey
@DennisAlvey 8 лет назад
yrussq Dude I'm 43 and been going to concerts since I was 15. I'm really too busy to argue on the internet about drummers.... Sure, I'm gay and like his haircut... Haha. I just enjoy his playing, man. Find something useful to do.

Dennis Alvey I'm 43 and i've been going to gigs since 15 - that's a hell of an argument :))) I'm thrilled)) Honestly my first comment wasn't that serious even to answer on it but you decided to take your time and when i asked seriously about if there's more than personal sympathy - you started your boring blah blah blah. Wtf with you? You're most illogical dude i saw for last year. And it's aside from your gaylove with Rubin certainly...))

This was the best arena show I've attended in terms of lighting in 20 years of concert going. I'm sure it was fine for the guys in the seats, but man, being on the floor felt like you were getting leveled by light.

It's almost impossible to describe a highlight of the show without it being the sonic masterpiece of Hurt...but one of the best performances is The Big Comedown. Backup vox are on point and all the ad-libbing Trent does on the song is SO. DAMN. FUNKYYYY

Iv been watching live performances all morning and this has got to be one of the craziest. This feels so masterfully done. Like it's not live. But it is live. Almost feels fake, surreal is the term. Trent Reznor's performance is Surreal here.

If they never played another show after Woodstock 94, they would be in the rock n roll hall of Fame. I think I understand what you mean though. I think it is more under-appreciated by people afraid to listen. Genre labels and all. They don't even know they have been listening to them for years through movies, tv, etc... Not to mention Johnny Cash.

Thanks Trent for the endless inspiration. Glad to see there are others out there who appreciate your art as much as I try to.
