FYI, I have a OVS 270 awning on an offroad trailer i had built. It works great! However, on the first trip out as I was setting up a sudden gust of wind snapped off the rear two spreader bars. Crap. I did not have time to set out the support poles or the guy lines. Honestly, the trailer guys said it was not needed. BS. Always use them. Anyways, I called OVS and explained what happened. My fault, not OVS'. OVS asked for my address and I received the replacement poles in a week. Thats customer service!
Question about the mount setup and clearing the rear door. Where did you get the mounts? I am thinking of replacing my FIAMMA F45S on my Hawk, and this is possibly on my list as I’d like to have 270 coverage.
I haven't noticed a significant difference in gas mileage, to be honest (I also have it on the camper too though). I think it's worth it and right now it's like $100 off on Amazon if you use my link.
30k is the right interval and you can technically extend it to about 40k with no probs. Vibrations can come from many reasons: Check your wheel balance. Is it lifted? How many miles? Are your suspension components worn?
I'm definitely not doing any more hard off camber trails with this camper 😅 Here are the links from this video: 270 Awning Passenger Side: amzn.to/3LUgFkr 270 Awning Driver Side: amzn.to/3vPVZEp Bracket Design Process Short: ru-vid.com9dZaLCcaPNE
It's dependent on what you're setting it up for. I went with the larger one since I do have the side kitchen - I probably would have been able to get away with the LT version but I erred bigger and I'm very happy with this choice.
