I like the design of these i built one for a mate of mine here in the uk . In Us money probably $100 and some head scratches. And the rail that goes around the back actually goes flus with the back . A complaint ive heard from many that isn't the case coming from many firms building these . . Great video

Came here to figure out how to properly put it away, I kept rolling it up and I couldnt get the front velcro to close. Doing this from now on!

Timely video for me. I hope to pull the trigger on an awning in the next few days. I also saw your video with the larger Nomadic. Do you prefer the this LT or the regular larger Nomadic? Thoughts on how this compares to the Rhino Batwing? The plastic hinges on the Batwing are really scaring me.

I think the LT is better than the Nomadic if it's just 1 person, or maybe a couple... if you don't need to provide shade for a group then the smaller awning is great as it's so much easier to put away. I still like the Batwings though, once you get past the idea that those plastic bushings aren't supposed to support the awning and you actually need to use the poles, it becomes a better product- the vertical poles are better, being able to stake the poles to the ground is a big plus, and their walls are universal, plus you can store a single wall inside the awning bag- no way you're doing that with any OVS product. You just have to put the thing away if it starts to get windy, and don't leave it set up overnight. If you haven't already, check out my Batwing videos and you can get a pretty good comparison. If you still feel the need to run without poles occasionally, then OVS all the way, but if you're going to follow either manufacturer's recommendation and set up guy lines and stakes, Batwing.

Do you think the LT is better than the 270? I’m considering both, but the 270 is almost 50% more expensive. Do you find the LT provides enough usable shade?

really depends on your use case if it's worth it. If it's just you & your bros hanging out on the tailgate then the additional shade up near the front fender is almost useless... I could maybe make a case for putting a baby's pack & play up there though, especially if you also added wall 1 to the mix, to keep the kid out of the sun/wind for a nap up front and out of the way while you still have space to hang out by the fridge. I was never glad I had that extra shade up by the front fender.

@@gamiviti4828 thanks, that’s really helpful. It would mostly be me, my wife and two older daughters… sometimes fewer people. I’m leaning towards the LT
