As someone born and raised in Escondido who ocassionally visits Oceanside whether to take a walk on the pier or a dip in the water I was horrified when I found out about this. To have the pier gone wouldn't be the same I'm glad the fire was put out and that nobody got hurt. ❤🌊🙏🏼
Brines box is just a food counter not a “restaurant”…Ruby’s was empty for quite a few years now. Oceanside really needs to clean up the pier and make it fit for purpose. A real shame it’s burning.
“Construction” workers smoking on site…or pyros who broke into Ruby’s…that area of the pier is an unsavory hangout. It really needs rejuvenation and cleaning up.
Yup. Payout. I live 5 min. away. It is sad tho. Rubys was good. But I instantly thought,” that’s insurance”. Not much to do taking a long walk off a short pier. Is there a Russian sub chilling off the coast???🤔
I am from Oceanside and I was just there in March and we had a great time together there I only seen one strange person on the pier so I’m guessing insurance purposes. I stay in Albuquerque now and their is no way as much homeless in Oceanside as their is in Burque/Albuquerque
I didn’t go to the end, but i was told before the fire that there wasn’t a-lot of fisherman at the end. I assume it was brine box spilling oil. I did see one of the Brine Box employees walking the pier with a friend right before the fire, she didn’t look like she was working today.
I drove past last week and its pretty sad. I remember me, my brother, and my mom going to rubys and getting milkshakes after spending a day at the beach when i was younger.
What a shame. I'm up the road in the SF Bay Area. These old piers on the west coast are real treasures. Hope this gets people in gear to preserve them.
The fire investigation will provide more information hopefully soon. Hopefully no one was there and not found (overlooked). Unfortunate however it was started. Sending good thoughts to those with any losses.
I was there when this happened, i was at the bait shop when it started. I just saw smoke and started to leave as lifeguards ran by. There should have been water hoses or fire extinguishers obviously… It’s a wooden pier oozing flammable tar.
@burberryducks6481 I haven't been there in a while, but people are saying that the new restaurant is still using Ruby's old kitchen? If I remember the layout where the flames are is where I slightly remember the kitchen being. I'm very glad you got out safely.
@@MaliciousMega Thank you 🙏They use it as storage for food even though you can see black mold everywhere inside. The food was defiantly delicious with some mold on the side i guess.
Anyone see what I saw? Big black thing in the water leaving from underneath the pier right after the helicopter dropped the water at 4:00 in the video???? Big and fast...
Every one be ok , thank be to God, for watching every one to be safe all our officer's and fireman, be safe , Jesus Christ bring them back home safely in your name Jesus Christ name I pray Amen,🙏🏡🚑🚔🚒
Right at 4:00 in the video...Giant black thing came out of from underneath the end of the pier at high speed!!!! Fish?? UAP??? UAP's Have been spotted by San Diego Navy personnel...was moving very rapidly!!!
By the way the helicopter turns at the end before it exits frame, I think it was the shadow of the helicopter. But that’s a cool thing to spot! Good eye!
PLEASE SAVE OUR PIER!!! There is a MASSIVE FIRE INSIDE OF Rubys!!! FLAMES ARE EVERYWHERE!!! That WHOLE section of the Pier is DESTROYED sadly!! Oceanside is going to HAVE TO REBUILD that WHOLE section of the Pier!!! But PLEASE SAVE THE REST OF OUR PIER!!
That WHOLE section of the Pier is DESTROYED sadly!!! There is NO WAY that Oceanside will allow ANYONE to walk in that area!! Oceanside has NO CHOICE but deem that area UNSAFE to walk on!!! Oceanside will HAVE TO REBUILD that section of the Pier!! But PLEASE SAVE THE REST OF OUR PIER!!
@@jessicawagers2321 - Piers are not for everyone. I think it is an eyesore. I hope the rest just goes down. Everyone should move, I do not like the town. Just my feeling.
I live in Oceanside and have been to the pier many times and around that restaurant. So sad to see this right now. I didn't realize Ruby's has been closed for so long. It's been a while since we were down there. We're far enough away, though, to not see or smell anything, but it could be dangerous for homes and businesses closer by, of course.
Look at my comments....look at video right at 3:58...big black thing in water comes out from underneath the pier and leaves rapidly right after the helicopter dropped the water 😮😮😮😮
@@mikeflohr4043 Yes! I saw it. It seemed shaped like a mantaray, they can get pretty big and they literally fly through the water. Hopefully, that's what it was. Otherwise...well, it's anyone guess.
I watched live coverage for 1 1/2 hrs. last evening. The sikorsky heavy lift copter crew need some retraining, dropping water at to high an altitude and to fast a speed, lame! Some of the boats have aim and prostate issues, today it looks like they have improved their aim.
Bad bad republican 😢 omg you’re so correct 👍 😅 politics are gay the real presidents are the lizard people presidents are simply puppets invest in bitcoin eat some pussy.
@@davediamond9436 Yeah it's great when they burn books that are filled with shit sexualizing children and trying to indoctrinate kids into the trans freak movement. Enjoy the endless homeless population mixed with the mass illegal aliens from the open border and skyrocketing taxes! I'll take FL ANY day of the week!
