You could store your granola in a 5-gallon bucket with a gamma seal lid, easy access and the bucket is opaque, so your kids might not be as snacky with it. And it will keep the mice out.

Get a couple of cats, Lisa! Mice not only help themselves, they leave nasty stuff behind! My country living friends lost some beautiful & expensive bedding last winter, which which the little buggers made nests everywhere! She got a couple of rescue cats & though we never saw any “killing fields” the mice disappeared! (Oops! I just saw a cat stroll across the windowsill! I’m singing to the choir!) thanks for all your videos, I could watch them all day!

For “in a pinch broth” freeze some of your homemade bone broth in ice cube trays and keep them in a gallon zip top bag in the freezer. Works very well for tossing in dishes needing small amounts. For brown sugar, whip up your own by mixing molasses and sugar! EASY!!!

Thank you Lisa! Though I’m a city dweller I do try to make all my own bread, cakes, etc. i don’t like Kraut, so that’s ok, but where I’ve learned so much from you Is with “things to do so’s not to discard sourdough “ I love your videos & could watch them all day. To see your kids learning so many skills is awesome! I used to teach & was appalled by how little my students knew about where their food comes from, how it’s processed, it was horrific! Except the Jewish kids, who are taught early, most students know nothing! (I always got lovely fresh challa on Fridays, I think it became a competition between the kids who could impress me most!) Even parents’ evening was great, Mums brought me bagels, falafel, African Mums brought curries & side dishes, just because I showed an interest! My colleagues were very jealous! Of course I had to respond in kind, so it was a terrific learning curve for all of us! I can watch your cooking, homemaking, antique shopping all day, I love it, thank you for sharing.

we bought food grade totes at costco- leave in the bag ( we use large mylar bags but don't heat seal- we go thru the food pretty fast) and just put in the tote (just check the number on the bottom of the tote to make sure it is food safe) we store all our pastas this way in the original packaging.- plus they stack (get the ones with the flat tops) saves a ton of space

Good morning Lisa. What a haul. Everything looks absolutely delicious. For Thanksgiving dinner, I believe I'll be serving some oyster stuffing with mine - a classic, delicious bread dressing with chopped oysters, a nice choice for any holiday dinner. It's loaded with the flavors you'd expect in a stuffing-lots of parsley, celery, breadcrumbs, and onion but with a little something extra special thanks to the addition of oysters. Oyster stuffing's a tasty treat to complement turkey, but of course can also be served with chicken, duck, or goose. And of course, I'll be using oysters from the Great Chesapeake Bay. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Tuesday. 😁😁

I take a couple of heaping tablespoons from my fresh yogurt before I even chill it, put it into the container of choice and label. 4 or 5 generations are about all you'll get out of it but it's great to have a backup. Thanks for sharing all you do. Trying out einkorn soon to see if our wheat/gluten sensitive girl can manage it. You are always teaching me something. Blessings! *Added grandma advice about the granola. You can't train the mice to stay out of it.
