I have not stopped lustening to this piece since Pan finals. It is the best arrangement of the best steel orchestra on the planet. Congratulations to Pro. "Smooth". This was no tie. Thank you to the STARS. Numero UNO!!!!!

This band never disappoints ….. always the most anticipated performance in the competition…. Reason no band captures the spirit of the carnival like All Stars ….. been 40+ years of nothing but joy, excitement and performance perfection. Can we talk about the dedication of these pannist - long hours and late nights after work or even having to take time off from work to commit to their bands.
I played with All Stars from 1976- 2001 and won multiple panoramas with them...but this is by far their best performance EVER...HANDS DOWN. Shame about the TIE(F) though.❤🎉😂
This probably the 10 or 11 time watching this performance, and am being conservative, a clear and outright win. This is a pure pan man’s arrangement, beyond musical genius, the arrangement compliments the tune, take another bow Professor smooth’. The reharmonization, motivic development, exploded into an inventors joy once his creation came to ‘life’. This tune of choice was surgically pulled apart and remastered. champion arranger, champion players, champion band.
Let's say , for argument sake that All-star had the edge on this one, one thing for certain is that, Duvon has sent a clear warning to the top arrangers that says " step your game up, times are changing".
@@WinstonStRose i agree with you on that. But, I was referring to other veterans arrangers. Smooth is and always was favourite arranger along with Jit.
@@jahji1415 i respect smooth he's one of the best. He's been arranging for a long time and rightfully so he should have many wins, Duvon, Hubbert, Puchett ect are young and up coming arrangers who will be a force to recon with. Am not here comparing guys to smooth but all am saying is that Duvon is the future pan Dynasty of trinidad. You can't take anything away from smooth , he's by himself , but they're a few older arrangers who's been there for a while (way before Duvon)" and ever since he enters the competition he just pushes them a side with his talent and ideas. So by you responding by saying smooth has more championship, the party's just begining, we're not living in the past.

I commend this band for the almost all night performance on the road in august 2023 .please do this again this year. i have been following this band for the last 50 yrs. i now live in toronto and this performance in august was really great .trinidads no. 1 band.. do it again
Massy All Stars you all made those pans talk. I do not know what panorama those judges were judging.Robbery with V by timing you all with Renegades. You all were the clear cut winners by a mile. Congratulations.
Congratulations All Stars! I just realised an interesting fact - In all my years of Panorama, it has NEVER EVER happened that All Stars was 'given' a win that they did not earn. There was never a year when another band clearly played better but All Stars were awarded the title. Renegades, Desperadoes, Exodus, Silver Stars, Phase 2, all have been 'given' victories that they had absolutely NO right or business receiving. Usually aside from the fans of those band and the judges, the majority of the people were in total disagreement with the results. Ironically, it was usually at the expense of an All Stars victory. History has it that the judges seems to do their best to find some band to put in front of All Stars. It is no wonder that All Stars would usually win People's Choice and their performance would be played the most on the radio stations throughout the year. So if there are those who think differently, well now you know how All Stars and their fans have felt since 1982. Congrats All Stars.
Well said. Big Congrats to Leon Smooth Edwards on his accomplishment with Trinidad All Stars. I grew up on George Street and went to Eastern Boys. I know all about the challenges.
I am a Renegades fan …( I enjoyed all, they were all are good). This year Massy was the clear winner… it should not be a tie… Invaders were cheated again.
@@magneticfielded6581 I believe that is my point. Renegades, Desperadoes, Exodus, Silver Stars and ESPECIALLY Phase 2 won in years they should not have, most times because All Stars were robbed. To prove that I am not as biased as you think, to this day people argue that in 1990 it was Vat 19 Fonclaire (under Ken 'Professor' Philmore) were robbed. The title went to Renegades. Even All Stars players expressed they believed that was Fonclaire's year. Both All Stars and Despers played "Rebecca." I love All Stars version but I can absolutely understand why Despers interpretation was victorious. Listen to Panorama 2006 when All Stars played "Soca Warriors" versus Phase 2 "This one for Bradley." Go to Panorama 2008 when Phase 2 played "Musical Vengence" and All Stars played "Thunder Coming." Most of Trinibago and the wider world said that in both 2006 and 2008 All Stars were clear winners, but the judges said differently. If you have a high tolerance for pain, then listen to Phase 2 version of "Woman on the Bass" and then All Stars "Woman on the Bass" and YOU tell me which is better.

If they played faster they could not make the run cleanly at 4.35-45 and hit the quadruplets notes at 4.50-55. I played tenor for 25years with them... trust me..perfect tempo.
If you like speed, listen to Trinidad All Stars "Heat." It would be difficult to find more pace. Take note of the special effects as if the pans are on fire. It have no way in hell Renegades tie with all stars All Stars win 2024 Panorama no argument World see it and knows it even the players in Renegades band no they lost the panorama judges really overdo it I feel they get paid off
Exciting and full of energy but confusing and mix match arrangement that's all over the place. The energy and expectation is what puts them in the winning circle, certainly not the composition.

@@mikkixi1334 Fair and square, honey. Music clarity is important. Trained in theory and practical from 6 years old, now in my 74th year. Unbiased. Discerning. Love my culture, love all the bands. However, I cling to objectivity laced with reason, and want to “push” the pan further. There will be evolution with pan performance and how panorama is executed. It’s coming … just wait and see!
