It seems it's the same accompanist for all of these masterclasses. He is so good, he deserves much more recognition for his excellent playing and being able to pick up in a second where they start !

My teacher is definitely even more intimidating! But his way of teaching is very productive.

Fantastic! Always as I see a masterclas of Gautier I think of the masterclasses on the DVD's 'A life in music' of William Pleeth. Gautier is not but he could have been a grandson of Pleeth.

Just came here from Benjamin Zander’s master class. I believe he is a good player but he is definitely not a good teacher. He teaches how to player but he does not inspire people. In comparison, Benjamin Zander inspires the student and pass on his passion to the student.

Zander straight up told a depressed person to not be sad and touched him to mess up his hair in front of everyone one. Poor person cannot even leave without making a scene. Zander is a fucking emotional vampire - that is what that looked like to me. It was very mean what he did .... I know people with anxiety they could quit cello after an experience like that. He also makes everyone interpret things to his specific weird imagination instead of bringing out the best version of themselves - he tries to imprint his specific flavour onto everyone. And he cares not the least bit about technique during the lessons ....

Actually Zander is great! Of course he can be much, but the students that don’t love it from the start, will appreciate his passion and motivation at a later stage in life. In addition his interpretations are on point and very well-informed! On the other hand I feel, that Capucon makes also a great teacher, because he is so obsessed with sound quality and is very persistent! He also knows, when to push the students and when to continue the lesson and let them practice at home!

He’s a great player but not good at giving a lesson. He doesn’t respect her way. She could miss something. Cause she’s a student. But his tone sounds you’re wrong, I’m right. That’s not a good attitude.

EUNJEONG KIM True, he comes off as arrogant. Maybe because English isn’t his first language. Then again, it could just be his personality

I think he's got trouble getting his points across. He says "don't do that", which sounds confusing, instead of just "avoid that swelling sound". Problem is, he sometimes gives seemingly conflicting advice: "Do you vibrate? I'm impressed, don't change that, sounds great, but don't vibrate...". Worst of all, he's unable to put his finger on particular problem and help the student to fix it up. "I don't know what you are doing...". What a difference with Starker's master classes!!!

Dion Baillargeon ngl this is kinda funny seeing comments like this because literally every person who teaches/advises other cello players is exactly like this .legit he’s not being rude.....

He didnt know what to expect so he cant edit himself when everytime he wants to say some advice....People edit themselves when they know what to epect.....Maybe his behavior is based on ego little bit, but if she would behave based on ego, she could be easily irritated as well.
