“Man, it’s ridiculous that they hide the champions’ character development behind a paywall.” “You get to see baby Sidon...” “SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!”
1:25:00 The one who took the picture is a person who LOVES saying "SNAP!' Which is an obvious hint it is Purah. And she is not Kass' teacher Also if Kass had this picture, couldn't he have seen that Link is alive?! Also go to your house after this Nico, I think you can do something there now.
This comment for some reason made me picture Zelda and Ganon both getting bored of waiting for Nico and started playing Go Fish or something. Welcome to my brain!
DetectiveEthanaterSpiritOfBobbyFulbrightGamer oh okay, but would the top object in twilight princess be included? In hyrule warriors, it was an incredible weapon to ride on.
DetectiveEthanaterSpiritOfBobbyFulbrightGamer A Raft? I think you mean the King of Red Lions the noble boat. And also the Steam boat and Spirit Train. Also wolf link doesn't count the one riding that Was Midna, Link was the Mount in that case.
I’m pretty sure the person who took the picture was Purah! She was a young woman then and she said her signature “snap!” She’s not kass’s teacher of course since he’s a male sheikah but he was clearly close to the royal family to have had that picture
Between BOTW Link shrine hunting, finding Korok seeds, just dicking around and now being in the new Smash Hyrule is never going to get saved. BTW Smash Hype is still up for me.
Cap'nCinnamonBun If you look closely behind Knack there is a Spiky and i know after looking at it Its Sora from Final fantasy(I have watch Kingdom hearts LP XD im just messing with you guys) and im 100% sure he will be in smash
I feel like the Final Trial was shaped like an engine piston, since you get, well, a bike. Also, I'm surprised you didn't notice all the mentionings of you getting your own Divine Beast, Maz Koshia mentioned "One who wishes to master a Divine Beast" about three times before.
Okay, a couple things: 1. You can hang the picture of the Champions in your house. 2. There is a reward for completing the Compendium, but it's pretty minor and not necessarily worth it. Same with the Korok seeds. 3. Mipha is still best girl.
Sorry to burst your bubble Nico but I believe the 'happy moment' Mipha was talking about was the very first memory you saw of her talking to Link on top of Vah Ruta. Every Champion's diary links to the initial memories you see of them in some way. We can definitely dream though! Edit: It was actually the end memory and Nico figured that out. Shows me for commenting until the end of the video. Thinking about it they mentioned riding Vah Ruta together on the last page of the diary so fuck me I guess.
Mish Well who knows? A writer at Nintendo might ship Mipha and Link so damn much that they just *had* to slip a _"and then they fucked."_ line into the diary.
TallGlassofWater What Mipha says in her diary about that happy moment is: I thank the princess for accepting my request(taking the picture) and Daruk for bringing me closer to link(how he brings everyone together for the picture).
SeekerDanS That does seem right actually. Weird that she meant "bringing me closer to Link" in a more literal sense though, I always saw it as maybe Daruk (since he's such a bro) brought the two of them closer together emotionally at some point idk.
Dang it Nico, you didn't ask Sidon about Mipha. He's got some amazing lines. XD Btw, the items you got are all the items needed for making the Champion's arms. Also, I managed to get my Master Cycle stuck in a tree one time. It was hilarious. XD
Agniko Fireking I’ve clipped into walls and been forced to soft reset because I tried to get my master cycle inside buildings. It’s been fun to mess around with and see what I can break with it
I really recommend you going back to your house. Just a little something. And since you're gonna go there, why not dye your clothes? ...p-please? I feel like you could've gotten a lot from a full pink outfit throughout the playthrough. Also, I don't think the picture taker was Kass' teacher, she was a girl. But who was the picture taker!? She had a voice like she was going to be a character! I NEED TO KNOW MOAR LOAR
lolpho If I'm guessing correctly, Link only came a while after the reversing took affect, since one day shaved off a couple years quickly. I imagine the reversing reached peak deterioration-of-change when Link just woke up, so however long you took to reach Hateno. I'm guessing she was... 20? 30? This is assuming Sheika and Hylians have the same human lifespan, so I'd like to imagine that Impa, being the younger sister, is like 110ish today? Edit: Looking back at the second-final memory, it's heavily implied that the guy yelling for the Zelda was Robbie, and he looked a bit older. Not sure what to make, the silver hair throws me off.
It's Purah, but I noticed it only after playing the German dub of the game. She says her weird catchphrase at the end, which sounds normal in English (snap) but totally weird in German xD (Ka-tschika!)
I find it funny that Maz Koshia the hardest boss in the game has all of Thunderblight Ganon's moves. They knew what they were doing. Also fun fact if you throw might Banana's during the first face he will get distracted just like the Yiga Clan members, although he only does it once. Just more proof that the Shiekah and Yiga were once the same. Purah was the one who took that picture by the way, you can tell by the "Click Snap"
Not just a Master Cycle, Master Cycle ZERO. The actual Master Cycle made its first appearance in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with Link, making The Legend of Zelda canon to Mario Kart somehow. List of deaths in this LP so far: Fall to death: 3 Killed by a Guardian: 3 Killed by a boss: 5 Killed by an enemy: 12 Killed by a Lynol: 11 Trying to pull out the Master Sword: 3 (final count) Spotted and killed at the hideout: 5 (final count) Blown up: 1 Burned to death: 1 Hit by a ball: 2 Killed by spikes: 1
You can use other weapons while on a horse/Cycle. I *HIGHLY* recommend getting a 1H-sword and fighting a Stalker. Things get... very crazy with physics.
_Zelda Trivia:_ The master Cycle Zero isn't actually the first time Link has had a Motorcycle. The Master Cycle first made it's appearance in Mario Kart 8 of all things where Skyward Sword Link made a guest appearance. That version is just called the Master Cycle and has a much more conventional design. Apparently Eiji Aonuma the game's director/producer wanted Link to ride a motorcycle in the main series for a while now but has never found a good opportunity for him to have one until now. At one point he even considered having this game be set in modern times with link wearing a green hoodie riding a motorbike instead of a house. That was obviously scrapped. While we're on the top though The master Cycle Zero being a Divine Beast ties back into a comment I made early into the Let's Play about the Divine Beast being Based on the Four God's of Eastern Astrology (at least in concept) and there being a 5 God named Koryu that ruled over the others in some interpretations and in others there being a void between the other 4 with Kohryu absent. With Link's Master Cycle Zero Divine beast I think it's safe to say Link stands in for Kohryu in this analogy who came to vanquish the Void (Ganon). Also the pose link doing in the promo art for the Master Cycle Zero (The Thumbnail of the video) is a reference to the popular and influencing Anime Movie _"Akira"_
I gotta say the new music they added for the Champions ballad is kick as. Maz Koshia's boss theme is kick ass and the Theme from the DLC Divine beast is an awesome remix of the main shrine theme. Also I love how Mipha is the origin of Sidon's catchphrase of "I believe in you" Also Mipha was talking about was when Daruk literally pushed Mipha when they took the picture. Calm down Nico they didn't do it. Also the Zora Princess they are talking about is certain tsundere turned hardcore Link fan from a certain incredibly influencing and we'll known Zelda game.
Sorry if any one else mentioned it already, but the person who took the picture was Purah, you even get to hear her say “SNAP” like when you got the camera
Nico at the beginning of this let's play: Yeah, I really don't like attacking animals in games and stuff Nico after getting motorcycle: Ahhh! Eat shit flamingo, I've got a fucking motorcycle!! 😂😂
Nico Mipha's extra scenes of dialogue at the divine beast has one funny one in particular IF you're willing to repeatedly complete the same boss until you reach it
I can't help but think of a certain sis-con Anthropologist whenever Kass talks about his "dear teacher". Next thing we know he'll whip out the lipstick and start luring people to "see his master" with his songs.
Fun technique for you Master Cycle: While you're on the Motorcycle (standing still), hold B ->then hold A -> wait for about 2 seconds -> let go of B to perform a boost.
You know, as much as I loved fighting Monk Maz Koshia, I think there were some missed opportunities for this fight. A few examples; We only see him use an Ancient Sword, he should've used all the different types of Ancient Weapons for variety; He should've also been able to dodge any straight forward attacks and initiate a Flurry Rush on you (meaning you'd only be able to hit him if you perfect dodge, perfect parry, or stun him with an arrow him in the head); And last, but definitely not least, he should've been able to initiate a true to form Dead Man's Volley with his laser strike. Seriously! Dead Man's Volley is pretty much a staple for a Legend of Zelda game and yet this game doesn't do it! Other than that two things I wasn't fond of was that Maz Kiosha mostly stood idle for long periods of time just taking hits (especially in his giant mode) and his attacks did almost nothing of damag (they should've made him hit hard to at least make it a bit of a challenge). So while the fight was cool and all, there were just too many flaws to make the fight truly satisfying, sadly. Oh well, at least the music is awesome as fuck.
OmegaChimera that’s unfortunately an issue with all the major bosses in this game. It’s sad to say that imo maz koshia was the first boss to actually feel like a Zelda boss
I agree. At this point in the game, the player is very familiar with the combat and has all the OP weapons and potions they could need from playing the game naturally.
Hey Nico you don't have to really worry about diamonds as much. If you want more diamonds just go back to Zora's Domain and trade 10 luminous stones for one diamond, it was one of the sidequest you finished.
If you do choose to play other Zelda games, I'd recommend to first tackle the Ocarina of Time remaster on 3DS. This game references Ocarina of Time the most, and the layout of Hyrule is notably consistent in Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess.
I won't put this as an edit since it is kind of just a side thing, but when I say that Hyrule's layout is consistent, I don't mean it looks the exact same or will feel like it's recycled. I just mean the general geography. For example: Gerudo desert to the West. Forest somewhere in the Southeast. Zoras and Gorons in the North or Northeast.
So, the strongest regular enemy you can fight is Silver. But in Master Quest mode, there is one stronger. Gold enemies. That's likely the missing photos, them and their weapons.
Fun fact about the giant horse! It’s speculated by the fandom that it’s ganondorfs horse. He had a giant beast in past games and a lot of people think this is the descendant
Hey Nico for the Giant Horse and the White Horse, I believe that someone have a quest for them I don't remember where. BTW the Giant one is the descendant of Ganondorf's Horse and the White one Zelda's horse
From what I heard; Monk Maz Koshia is the ominous voice you’ve always heard when you enter certain places, like the four mazes in the map corners, or randomly when you trigger a story event.
There's one more type of Lynel and according to what I'm reading here, it says: "they are added by activating the Master Mode of the DLC pack 'The Master Trials'". WELP
NicoB, you do realize the weapons that the Shrine of resrection Devine Beast gave you every weapon you need to remake the champion weapons if you had lost any of them yet?
Giant Horse is a Quest from an area near the end of the trail near the near the stable close to the Molayna's Spring. And the White Horse is also a Quest near the memory of the Horse Statue
OMG DID ANYONE ELSE SEE THE FACE DARUK MADE BEFORE HE GRABBED EVERYONE IN THE PICTURE? IT WAS HILARIOUS I'M PROBABLY THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS IT'S FUNNY BUT O WELL
Lol same. Before playing the AA series the large majority of games i really cared about was Kingdom hearts. Glad Nico helped me to bring my attention to something different. IN JUSTICE WE TRUST!
assuming link weighs 100kg and he was falling for AT LEAST 4 seconds, then he would've hit the water with about 400 newtons of force, which as nico said, would indeed hurt like hell
If you go on to play more zelda games, you should play them in the timeline order! That would be Skyward Sword, Minish Cap, Four Swords, and then the timeline split. At the timeline split you could go any which way, although it starts with Ocarina of Time. Timeline A goes to Wind Waker, then Phantom Hourglass, and finally Spirit Tracks. Timeline B goes to Majora's Mask, then Twilight Princess, then Four Swords Adventures Timeline C goes to Link to the Past, Link Between Worlds, Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons (simultaneously, with cross-game features), then Link's Awakening, then The Legend of Zelda (NES) and The Adventure of Link. Breath of the Wild occurs at the end, after everything else, and contains references to all of the timelines.
SuperGamerRob ehh I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks the timeline is terribly convoluted. I think Nico should just play them in any order barring direct sequels. Personally I think ocarina of time is the best starting point. Nothing against skyward sword (never played it since my wii broke down) but I don’t think Nico even has a wii or a Wii U to play with
He should start with skyward sword since its more story based and after a game like this (gameplay based) I think he wants to play a game thats more storybased and he will learn more .
While the exact order I'm not too concerned with, alternating between playing one 2D game and one 3D game back and forth would be one of the better ways keep them from getting stale if he'd want to play more of them sooner rather than later.
All Nico has besides a Switch is a 3DS, meaning he will very likely play Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D next. After that, he might pirate some of the other games, who knows? Or we can convince him to buy a used Wii U so he can play TP, SS, WW and some of the Virtual Console Zelda games.
There's still a little thing you can do with that photo kass gave you, you should go to your house. Also, my god i can't get over baby sidon, it must be one of the most adorable things in this game.
In terms of technology, the motorcycle is probably the most tame. This game has giant mechanical beasts that use legs to walk, the laser shooting guardians, and towers that register the a perfect representation of the landscape to a tablet. The Sheikah Slate should be the most amazing thing created in this game, but motorcycles are just that badass.
You know, I find it thematically fitting to have the order Nico completed the champions’ ballads is the inverse to the order he defeated their respective divine beats.
I would like to mention 2 things: 1. The Divine Beast dungeon is a motorbike engine. 2. You haven't completed the Champions' Ballad till you go back to your home in Hatano and find the "secret"
It's probably better that Link didn't wake up with his memories. Imagine how painful it would be to find out all of your companions were killed, and anyone you knew has probably died of age by now.
Got to say, Monk Maz Koshia is not only one of my favorite fights in BoTW, but is pretty high up there for bosses in the series in general. He honestly made the semi-lackluster DLC worth it.
Hey Nico. I've been enjoying your videos for a while now, but I've only just joined the Picky Penguins. I really love all the games you play and the voices and jokes you do. I was wondering if you'd ever consider doing a game from the Tales of series. I highly recommend Tales of Zestiria.
Zelda Kart! Wonder who Nico play as in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I’ve noticed before that he has it. Maybe he could make a Picky Penguin Mario Kart tournament?
In Nico's second Mario Odyssey stream, at 4:30:08, we get a glimpse of his screenshot album, and there's a screenshot of the Mario Kart 8 vehicle selection screen where he has Mario, the Comet, the Standard wheels, and the Super Glider selected. There's no way to know whether or not he actually uses any of those, though. He might have switched to something else, or taken that screenshot by accident, or maybe he just likes the way the Comet looks for some reason.
Wasn’t the one who took the picture purah? I think that it’s quite fitting for her to be the one who took the picture cause of her personality and actions when you first meet her in the game.
