Occurred on January 6, 2019 / Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
"This 820-tonne, 13-meter-tall, 96-meter-long piece of petrochemical development equipment, called a splitter, is heavier than Caterpillar’s largest mining truck which is used in the oilsands and six times as large. The splitter left Dacro yard on 91st St. and 51st Ave. in Edmonton, AB at approximately 9:15 pm on January 6, 2019. It is expected to take four days to arrive at its destination just north of Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Mammoet Canada is the haul specialists."

This load went to Fort Saskatchewan in the Province of Alberta, it took four days to get there. This was the first load then another went up not to long after that. Just one more thing, there is over 900 tires.

One of the smartest infrastructure decisions ever made in Alberta with the high/wide mega module corridors. These corridors can easily handle the biggest highway loads in north America .

@belanger9

@@zzz7zzz9 The part in the city they did do road closures - they ended up heading East in the Westbound lanes at one point. Outside the city the roads were not closed, they just used pilot cars to get vehicles to the side of the road in wide enough spots.

There were 4 trucks at the front, and then 4 trucks at the rear. Including the trucks, trailers, and mod it weighed in the neighbourhood of 2000 tons
@XYourBest
@XYourBest 5 лет назад
Lets see, largest engine for a Unimog is a 7.7L, 469-cubic-inch diesel. Those WesternStars have a 15.6L, 952 cubic-inch diesel. You are comparing a heavy highway hauler with a versatile off road vehicle.
