I noticed the exact same in new music , D.O.D , gorgon city, Mau P, etc. All using the rolling bassline. I enjoyed your tips on how to improve it, will defo use that in my next track 🙂
Im so glad I found your channel. I have a lot of teachers here on youtube but your mixes and sounds are the fattest and absolutely beautiful. Super inspiring. Looking forward to taking your class.
Lol I started this video thinking "well, I know how to do this one" and then mine's literally the most basic basic version that a bunch of layers and groove get put on top. Great video, always learn a lot
Gr8 video as always! Hoped to see more on how you get the bass to be nicely sidechained, and any other sounds that go along with it to get the flow of the rhythm
This was beyond helpful man. Can you please make more videos breaking down different kinds of basses or patterns in EDM? Or just the genres in general. A lot of times I find myself unsure what layers to build or instruments to use
Funny enough I was watching another YT'er yesterday who was talking about the same things (and other stuff). This was a really nice refresher and actually helped bring some clues together about where to take it from there.
i love Rolling Basslines but actually mixing them with kick is a Big challenge , but after years of experience i figure out an oscilloscope will help you ALOT , so i strongly suggest it .
I have a question - how do you mix the complete bass later with other sound such as the lead/pads/atmo etc? Do you cut on the mids/higher end quite much to make space for that - or leave it as it is and do minor adjustments there only? Thank you so much for the video! I always highly appreciate the stuff that you make - it's top level!
