A chemical bond is a lasting attraction between atoms, ions or molecules that enables the formation of chemical compounds. The bond may result from the electrostatic force of attraction between oppositely charged ions as in ionic bonds or through the sharing of electrons as in covalent bonds.

Atoms actually look nothing like stellar/planetary systems. This is a common misconception due to the Rutherford/Bohr models often being used to depict them. Electrons aren't small marbles orbiting the nucleus, they are quantum particles occupying certain orbitals in their atom. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EOHYT5q5lhQ.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4WR8Qvsv70s.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Aoi4j8es4gQ.html

It will form a ionic bond basically NaCl along with being Na+ and Cl- but as + and - will cancel each other out we do not have any charge on NaCl and as we know it is a neutral salt.

This RU-vidr’s claim: “The strong force that holds together constituent particles: atoms, ions, and molecules in a chemical species is known as chemical bonds” isn’t very accurate because, “the strong force” has specific meaning in the particle physics of chemical species. The truth is: The strong force holds the protons and neutrons together in the nucleus of an atom, and has very little relevance in chemical bonding. This force is mediated by gluons. It’s the electrostatic force between atoms/ions in a chemical species that’s known as chemical bonds. And this force is mediated by electrons. Please don’t take my word for it, you can do a quick research for yourself and verify the truth. Just be careful of information you digest on RU-vid, not everything is accurate. ✌🏾&❤️

If you are on a higher level of chemistry, you’ll knoe that this is not how it works because it completely ignores quantum mechanics, hut for beginners, it must amazing and really helpful for imagination. Only one type, it is not the best to say less stable than a single bond and then show carbon dioxide which is very stable.
