*This is part 2 of a two part video - see link below for part 1* Leading Australian portrait painter Paul Newton shares his knowledge of colour mixing for flesh tones (here for Caucasian complexions). Paul Newton is one of Australia’s leading portrait painters and Maria Stoljar interviewed him in episodes 136 and 137 of the Talking with Painters podcast. In 2023 he was awarded the prestigious Draper Grand Prize in the Portrait Society of America International Portrait Competition and in Australia, amongst many other prizes, he has been a finalist in the famous Archibald prize 16 times, winning the People's Choice Award twice that year as well as the Packing Room prize. Paul has been painting the portraits of notable people for over 30 years, spanning the arts, business, law, sport, the church, the military and more and his sitters range from Hollywood superstars to a prime minister and a US supreme Court judge. He has six works in the National Portrait Gallery’s collection in Australia and his many commissions include 32 works for the interior of the Domus Australia Chapel in Rome.
