A Tachum is the onomatopoeiac description of a two-note figure in Highland bagpipe music. Any two notes which can be said in the rhythm of the word “Tachum” can be described as a tachum. However, the most common two notes are from C to A, or B to G, on the bottom hand. The second note is lower than the first, with a G gracenote before the first, and a D gracenote before the second.
