Dude, being a civil engineer you obviously might have some bias & preconceived notions about architecture. Your slight hatred is evident in one of your comments too. That doesn't mean you've to demotivate hundreds of people watching RU-vid from trying it. I know several Alumnis from my college who did M.arch in the US and are now earning much more than the sum you quoted in your video. Also there are lot of job opportunities if you make the right connections during your studies. Do better research and stop holding this certain grudge against Architects. Let's work together so that both the fields of Civil Engineering & Architecture develops far better.
@ImmigrantTalks
@ImmigrantTalks 3 года назад
Hey bud, sorry if I my views came across as hatred, no-intention to do that. I love the field of Architecture, but I have so many of my friends who had to leave US with sponsorship issues. My goal is to share my experiences during my time in USA. Unfortunately the people who have made it here in architecture are making way less money than they deserve in this field and finding a company to sponsor is truly hard at-least in state of Michigan where I am from.

I detected no hatred in this video. He was just straight to the point and blunt. The salary he quoted was a bit generous as a lot of the people I graduated with got offers between 25k to 40k which is offensive if you ask me after completing such an intense course. I was the one of if not luckiest out of my group to get a decent salary. It’s a stressful major with not an awesome pay because of the culture that the older people have created where they say you should work work work, ignore pay and do it for the love of architecture which is nonsense because passion won’t pay the bills.

No offense brother, I wish you knew something about the field before making this vedio. Everything you talked in the vedio is partial information. Masters in architecture is offered in more than 50 specializations in every country. Computational thinking, artificial intelligence, machine learning,etc are also the majors in which architects specialise in. U.S.A is the country in which people holding bachelor's civil engineering degree do masters in architecture 1( the 3 year one) more than the architecture students. I'm an architect and know a little bit more than you Bhai :) just please don't make a vedio based on the opinions of others. Most countries have placed architecture in the list of skilled / demanded occupation. Architecture is not a stem program in every university in U.S, just in a few. The information you gave in the vedio can manipulate any aspirant who would watch it. And yes, please also do check the fees of m.arch in America. Please don't do this. Architecture is a very very vast field incorporating every possible major you could think . If you do not believe me, please verify from any possible source.

Among Landscape architecture and structural engg which is highly demanded in U.S 2.What is period of time takes persuing master in Landscape arch. 3.what is the best design course for masters in civil engg,, hope that i will be more benifited with ur help sir
@ImmigrantTalks
@ImmigrantTalks 3 года назад
I would suggest Structures over landscape Architecture. Landscape Architecture has less demand comparatively and many Americans do that. You will be competing against them. Unless it’s your passion and you have to do it, I would not suggest landscape architecture. If you want to do LA still contact me on IG. I can suggest some colleges. Good luck.

@@ImmigrantTalks completely wrong dude. way to discourage someone without the knowledge of actually being in a program. M.Arch programs across the US have students from all sorts of undergrad backgrounds, not just architecture. Civil engineering would put you at a solid place to do an M.Arch
@ImmigrantTalks
@ImmigrantTalks 3 года назад
@@dbarrio94 Hey Daniel, You may be right. I am from Civil Engineering and I tried to do Architecture as an undergrad, my advisor suggested me against it because I was missing so many basic classes. That's why I advise people the same. If you have better suggestions feel free to let me know, usually for masters Architecture schools will make engineering students take many extra classes before they start. If you have a different experience please let me know I would be happy to change my opinion, and learn something new. Thanks

@@ImmigrantTalks 3 year programs are structured for students with no knowledge in architecture who may be from engineering or arts backgrounds (and often even out of those themselves). It depends on the school, so just gotta research. But for the most part, programs will be structured to accommodate non-architecture students in some form. Many times students with architecture backgrounds get advanced placement. Civil engineering should put you in a position to be well acquainted with things like structures and environmental systems
