Hello from France, I'll be happy to add a couple pledges to mine and send them to a couple fellow players in the US, as long as it doesn't cost me money, if any of you find a way to secure the transaction. I won't do it with my own company (no need to make money on that) but only to help and maybe find some good soul to do the same for me during the cmon upcoming campaign. Gosh I can't wait to see this one for real !
Hello there Sylvain, Would it be a problem if mention ur address while i pledge the game, then u shipp it to me ofc i'll pay the shippment to me...asking because it would be a nice that have it covered all the possibilities ... I'm also from EU
Thanks for the review. I liked how you talked about different aspekts and what you liked and didn't like. I have already backed for the theme and the 48h bonus, will see if I keep the pledge all the way. Here's a tip: Please adjust your camera. The table and shelf should be parallell to the top and bottom of the screen. Also you should have some space above your head, not cut it off. But then you may want to angle the camera down towards the table when you are talking about different components so we can see more of the board etc.

@@TheKingofAverage Hey there, can u please tell or roughly estimate the weight of the core box and if not problem what is the dimensions of the core box...sry to disturb U like this, but I try To estimate some of additional costs for parcel forwarding... Well devs are not co-operative, due to all the frustrations can't blame them... Ty if advance...
Yo King! Does the Solo/Co-Op mode feel fully fleshed out or are they tacked on? How would you advise someone considering backing it specifically for those modes?
I'm far from an expert of Solo stuff, and co-op isn't typical for this genre so hard to compare to much, however I felt it was fine though not my preferred way to play (for any game). There are actual solo/co-op scenarios with scenario specific stuff. It provides variable combat against AI heroes and instructions on how they move/act which is nice. Limiting yourself to ONLY those I feel takes away 2/3rds of the content in the scenario book, however if you're willing to use some general movement AI instructions from the solo missions then you could even play the competitive mode scenarios solo/co-op minus perhaps a few Victory cards. If you're willing to do that and enjoy solo/co-op against basic AI (that is, not a boss battler or some dungeon crawlers) then the value is still there. If not, then you will still enjoy it, but the amount of scenarios is far less obviously.
@@TheKingofAverage awesome thanks! Just in terms of getting it to the table, I basically won’t buy a game that doesn’t have a solo element because I don’t want to rely SOLELY on finding a group to play it, and so it’s good to hear that it’s a robust co-op system.
Is this content-wise in any way similar to CMON’s campaign? Or two completely different games that just happen to have the MOTU license? Weird that they’re launching around the same time as well, one in Europe and one for the rest of the world.
They are 100% different, which is a bummer becuase this one is 100% a better game. The other is a skirmish minatures game, ala Song of Ice and fire or warmachine
Happy to help either way :) I heard about his take on things. TBH it sounds to me like he wants the game to be a narrative based dice chucker like most other campaigns to fit the IP, and....I can understand that desire, but felt this captured the feel of a Saturday morning cartoon quite well :) A bit of story, a bit of adventure and a bit of combat mixed up was quite nice for us, but we're fans of area control games too so there's that. It also unfortunately sounded like he had a player or two that was prone to AP which can suck the fun out of ANY game without a timer haha :D After a bit we were completing the two rounds of epic combat within a few short minutes, and I rather liked it more than how Rising Sun did it as seeing where the cards are but not what they are made it more engaging for me than pure blind assignments.
I guess I saw the same video and one thing he mentioned as negative was the game length. He said that one game took him 2 hours to complete and another one even 4! What was your experience?
You don't! Unless you plan to swap a card on it to another spot and you hope they fall for it. Fighting skeletor is all about aggressiveness which I found fitting. :)
Blood Rage. Though that's one of my top favorite games. I enjoy the more in depth clan upgrade there and the art/style sings to me pretty perfectly, but I'd not turn down a game of Fields of Eternia. I'd play this over Rising Sun any day for instance.
Why no time stamps? It seems like you were trying a different style for a review…I’m not sure what I think. It seems like you were going for more of an organic explanation, which included a detailed explanation of your gameplay. To be fair, I had this on in the background, so it didn’t have my primary attention. Overall, it was tricky for me to follow and evaluate what your review was. I can tell there is a lot of things you like about it, which is great, but I was looking for it to be more subjective and formal (easy to follow).
Worked late yesterday when I uploaded this, had a 4 hour meeting this morning, just didn't have to time for timestamps yet, sorry about that! This is actually my normal review style :D The Speed Reviews are something I'm trying out and hope to take the best of both for future reviews too :)
Actually I agree. I mean, I got the gist of it, but I did feel like this one could do with a bit more editing, some overhead views and close ups, and a little bit of a more structured approach. With the best intentions, as always, really appreciated either way, much love, don't work yourself to death🤘
100%! I've long said I want to invest in the channel more to get b roll and do more with editing, etc. My patrons agree as well, and said they'd like me to invest in a 2nd overhead setup. that'll allow me to show off components and whatnot much nicer and is a nice first step. Also want to get a green screen. Just as a tool to try some creativity at. Not sure how to integrate it quite yet, but definitely could do better. Many reassure me that content > style, but best to have both I feel :D
CMON posted on Facebook that they will ship to north america, south america, africa and asia. But not to the european countries that Archon doesn't ship to. So there are some countries in europe that can't get any version apparently.
Thanks for the review! It helps a lot! Having in mind Chronicle X which is... not perfect in gentle words, do you think it is safe to go for their He-Man? And what is this nice folding table you have there? ;)
Yes, the've improved a lot! I've played Archon games back to Vanguard of War (meh) and since Wolfenstein, they've been great! I legit enjoy both games, they've really stepped it up and I think will surprise a lot of people once they deliver them :)
Epic Combat seems to be much to complicated to me... it just feels not really right to me. I dont think that this game has a Chance against area Controll competitors like CTHULHU WARS. So this is a pass for me.
@@TheKingofAverage indeed! it is my number one favorite game and one of the games i played most. it is area controll, asymetric player factions, achivement unlocks similar to WOW, very easy to teach and it is just - believe me - the best area controll on the market. cant say more.
I’m over hoops, but that is such an ultimate mini’s set! CMON has the potential to unleash the entire set, but there’s also a chance their license doesn’t extend my way.
Thanks man highly appreciate your review. Do you think need the expansion? Just out of curiosity i think, because i grow up with hey man i will take all.
Ethereum? Lol. Looks a fun game. The company has a bit of an iffy history which puts me off slightly but I'm really tempted. Their last two campaigns on KS seem to be going ok.
I called it like, 5 different things during the review 😂 I've played their games since Vanguard of War (mehhhhh) and I must say, since Wolfenstein they have really outdone themselves. Glad to see improvement for sure, as that means we the consumers win :)
Will not ship from them. In the PM you'll need an address for one of those countries. That can go to a friend/relative, a group pledge, mail forwarding service, a retail place and all of them can then ship it to you, just costs a bit more and takes a bit longer. That goes for the CMON one to these countries as well.
King PLEASE convince Archon to have a playmat for this game. King you have the power! They don't think demand is there. I'm surprised by that answer because they are popular.
@@MaraMara-dg3ob I am looking into it, but was hoping someone had a great company they had already dealt with. I will look into this and report back any info. Thank you for the suggestion.
Ello, for tiptrips registration is free if I figured correctly u/we pay 5$+shipemnt costs, in EU we got 2 hubs in Ger and CZECH republic+UK hub registration is free and it is upgredable, on site there is nice explanation how to ise the adresses of the hub and u enter or adress for delivery, good thing is there is a calculator for ur parcel dim/weight for shipping costs and list of the delivery options...
PS Sry for misspellings and bad English it's late at my side... nd also is worth a mention that rise the price for some 40$ roughly...but I just cant get over it why is this hard to licence...if Europe then all Europe or if EU only the all, not like this...awesome IP and not so awesome delivery especially because game looks so good...
IP based board games. Sometimes it gives extra flavour to a game, sometimes it's a disservice. Personally I couldn't care less about the He Man franchise. This theme actually turns me off so much that I'll pass on this one. If it would have been generic fantasy or sci-fi I probably would have considered because I'm a bit of a CMON games fan
Hey KOA. I emailed you about this a few weeks ago. Do you know of a plan where people in the US can get their hands on this game? Do you know of any retail store that intends to have copies available to send to the US? I also emailed the On Table Top guys to see if they were going to be selling copies but no response. I loved Archon's mini's from Vanguard of War. I can't wait to see what they do with He-man. I'm going to be very disappointed if I can't get this game in the US for a reasonable price. I don't plan on getting the CMON version either.
The only limiting thing is the shipping address you provide, so you can go through a mail forwarding service, friends/family, a group pledge, or through a retail store there that's willing to ship it to you once it ships to them. You'll get it a bit later, and for a bit more, but still available. Otherwise second hand market is the way to go.
Europe only... That fucking sucks. Kickstarters like this are double unfair. Let's show off all these awesome things BUT if you're not local you're fucked. Oh, but also all the Kickstarter ONLY FUCKING STRETCH GOALS you can only get by pledging. Fuck this shit.
After seeing reviews for this and Clash of Eternia, it seems the U.S won out with CMONs Clash of Eternia. Fields of Eternia is very slow to start and there isn't much to do until late in game. There isn't much difference between characters since there are no attack or defense stats, so Orko is just as strong as He-Man apparently. And the card based combat doesn't seem that interesting. And to add insult to injury most characters have body stats of 7 so they are all just rolling 7 dice for the battles in the wilds. Doesn't seem like they put much thought in making the characters unique or interesting to play. Contrast this with Clash of Eternia where the characters are all very unique and interesting to play.
