I flew beyond the sun before it was time Burning all the gold that held me inside my shell Waiting for you to pull me back in I almost sat the world in my sights Close, low bright eyes fading Faster than stars falling How can I tell you I failed? Tell you I failed Fallen from grace cause I been away too long Leaving you behind with my lonesome song Now I'm lost in oblivion I tried to bore a hole into the ground Breaking all the fingers and the nails from my hand The eyes of the child see no wrong Ignorant bliss in Close, low bright eyes fading Faster than stars falling How can I tell you I failed? Tell you I failed Fallen from grace cause I been away too long Leaving you behind with my lonesome song Now I'm lost Fallen from grace cause I been away too long Leaving you behind with my lonesome song Now I'm lost in oblivion Fallen from grace cause I been away too long Leaving you behind with my lonesome song Now I'm lost Fallen from grace cause I been away too long Leaving you behind with my lonesome song Now I'm lost in oblivion In oblivion, in oblivion Source: LyricFind
@@VanXHydrAbut there’s so many better uses of an entire species’ population or at least better minerals to mine right? I don’t doubt you but the details seem iffy.
Not trying to nitpick, but I always thought z lyric was "ignorant bliss, impending doom" . I could be wrong about that though. Regardless I'm a big fan of putting z lyrics along with the song, even if you already know the lyrics, therefore thank you my good sir/brother. Tis a good thing that you've done for us!
I was obsessed with this album when it was released. It's crazy how much of a mental time machine music can be, taken me right back to listening to it at college most days in 2009. Best days of my life.
Stevie Wonder said funk combined the “earthiness of blues with the sophisticated of jazz”. I feel like Mastedon does a similar thing with prof rock and class hard rock.
I remember when [as] ran the promo for this album along with Dethklok's Dethalbum II. I heard this opening riff and knew I was hooked. Both albums amazing pieces of musicianship.
You need to get ahold of one of those flash thingys that they use in Men in Black. Get you one of those bad boys and every time you listen to it you can hear it for the very first time every time , you digg?
@@so-uc5lgThen you my dear fellow are having a great time of it for a while. Also better late than never. Hope the musical journey you're embarking on takes you to z best destinations my friend !
One of the greatest hard rock songs of all time! The fall back to the 4/4 feeling for the chorus is absolute genius. If comfort food was music this would be it.
I remember coming across this song on XM back when it played in the 800's on Direct TV. They had some good ass music around that time & I bought several albums because of the songs I found while listening to that rock/metal/whatever station.
Dude shit, you just unlocked memories buried real fucking deep in my mind. Hell, I still find it a little bit bizarre that Sirius and XM were once competitors.
Yes…yes they really did have some good music taste. I haven’t thought about those music channels for years…I remember it when I was fourteen, and feels so long ago.
No way..... When the chorus hit- I was thrown back nearly 4 or 5 years to hearing this song, somewhere, somehow, and being like- this is great, but who is that!? And then it just disappeared. And now I have finally found it. I wouldn't have known where to start looking! MASTODON birthed this bad boy!!!??
It's a testament to how good their music truly is that I can say that I might like Colony of birchmen, Divinations and Sleeping Giant a little bit more, but not by much Oh And Siberian Divide (mostly because it features Cedric Bixler Zavala of Mars Volta fame) I can imagine seeing Mars Volta and Mastodon hanging out together and getting into some crazy antics. Personally I love my Volta a little more than Mastodon, but both groups are capable of combining psychedelic prog rock with metal and jazz among other genres. I'd love to see Volta, Mastodon and Opeth either go on tour or start a side project together. (Oh yeah has everyone heard z news that MV, Deftones and System of a down will be going on tour together?! That's an awesome line up for sure. Take it easy Pals out there
I got to see you guys August 26th last month here in Iowa and I was really hoping I could watch you guys perform this song because it's been an all time favorite for me personally, unfortunately you did not play this one but nonetheless the entire performance was incredible either way and that's all I could ask for so hell yeah, man
Haha my first boyfriend showed me this song back in the day when I was like 15 or 16 and I can actually relate to it now. Weird how things come full circle like that.
This band had been rediscovered by me. I never realised how good they were back in Leviathan days. Well, I was just a 12 year old dumb teenager back in 2004
It's bizarre how there's bands that we didn't pay much attention to in our past, but then later down the road it just sorta clicks. I'm simply happy to hear that you enjoy their music now
i know this song is about the drummers sister ...What makes a GREAT band is their music transmits MULTITUDES of ENERGY ... I have a down syndrome sister .. I feel like this relates HEAVILY . NO disrespect to the original content
I like Mastodon, but they ain't Pantera, nor do they sound anything like them. Darrell as a lead guitarist put out more sound than both of these guitarists combined. I do think that the vocals of Mastodon are better than Pantera though.
