I think that the problem here is that she separates the act of masturbation from pornography. For men, rarely does one come without the other. The damaging effects of pornography and the addictive nature of it can have an impact on psychological health and intimacy in relationships.

Good stuff... much to learn from

This is such a wonderful speech on a very serious topic within current society with intelligent humors, and it contains a lot of facts as well. I am a big believer in communication and trust are key to successfully relationships (particularly sexuality part of the relationship) , and masturbation can really help in those two areas, because if you don't know your own body, your own sexual pleasure, then how would you expect anyone else to know better than yourself. Only when you know yourself well enough, you can guide your partners and communicate clearly with your partner to allow him/her to give you pleasure, and trust in him/her to allow you to receive great pleasure.

VERY factual and real explanation of what we are in disguise. Indeed the term makes much difference Masturbation and changing this would really be something we ought to do earlier.

Well said. She amazed me of how she delivered her message effectively. The way talk was calm and smooth. Her visual presentation was a good way to present her ideas coherently. The way she moves and the way she uses her hands were also a good way to convey every points of her message. I guess the porn sites have send their agents... there are other pseudo-psychologists who say that masturbation to porn doesnt do nothing to the brain. And lets just accept the fact that a woman is trying to convince us if its good or bad to masturbate. I think I would make a Ted talk about pregnancy ! i was scared at the beginning but then i realized she was empasizing a point and the statements were myths.

It’s a lot more common at a young age than people think. It’s just that they will be told to “stop that” before they realise what they are actually doing. Do you remember your first years of school, teacher telling someone in class “stop fidgeting...” (other coded phrases are used “day dreaming” or just “back to work”)

She is right about some things but I believe it DOES teach me instant gratification which makes my life feel harder than it is.. I get more distracted because I tend to search for a stimulus that gives me similar feeling more often.. I did experience worse performance at a gym after doing it (I'm talking day or two before).. I'm not sure about immunity improvement, I only notice brief improvement when I'm sick and then I feel even more tired and overall worse.. I don't tell anyone what to do but for me it seems helpful. I don't have religious reasons, I'm not ashamed of it and I don't care about going against mainstream.. Maybe it helps only certain types of people, who knows, I'm probably one of them.. For anyone who looks down on this, I encourage you to stay open minded.. give it try for several days.. If then you decide It's utter nonsense, it's ok..
