Matric exams are in full swing across the country, with thousands of learners striving for limited space in tertiary institutions. Unfortunately, many deserving pupils from rural areas will be deprived of opportunities to further their studies, because of their lack of resources and limited access to information. This exclusion of village youngsters often perpetuates cycles of poverty and robs our economy of potentially active contributors. Ayanda-Allie Paine took a look at an intervention aimed at educating the rural child.
