loretta swit and ruta lee still with us, 81 and 84 respectively. didn't know who ruta is but she's had an interesting life and career, born in canada she was the only child of lithuanian immigrants, she spoke with nikita khrushchev in 1964 to secure her grandmothers release from a soviet internment camp. she later got a cousin out. she worked all the way up to 2013 in movies and television, and also did 3 episodes of hogans heroes.

I'm 31 and I'm thankful that I know almost all of the stars on the show and can follow their references. I was raised in the "past" you could say. Ruda Lee is from Rawhide.
This is the second episode I've heard Richard make the same crack about Britt's laughing "you lay em and I'll sell em" referring to Britt sounding like a cackling hen. 8:21 The first time he said it, it didn't look as if anyone on the panel heard him as they were all talking, this time I think maybe Loretta heard and laughed.
Brett Somers was one of the most useless panelists in Match Game history. Talked too much, constantly required a repeated question, was unfunny and gave bad answers about 75% of the time. Most of the time she cost contestants money.
I loved the Flintstones, but never watched when the Fankenstones were on there cause they took a sweet loveable show and turned it into garbage (I don't think that God would have watched when they were on, so I didn't watch either)
never saw that, when a contestant misunderstood a question, they were given a chance to change their answers..later on, whatever they said, misunderstanding or not, stood...
Danny Hill yep I caught that too... I’m surprised they let that pass and to be honest I think she played it off. I think her answer was camel and lucky for her Gene misunderstood that she MISUNDERSTOOD the question so she was able to quickly change it. She knew what he said... he repeated the question over to the celebs a few times so there is no way she didn’t hear him. Cannibal and camel sound nothing alike except the vowel.
That wasn't a good time slot for that program. Not 7:30, and definitely not 7:30 on a Sunday: nine or ten would have been better. We didn't watch it, but my mother would have if it had been on later. Do you remember it, or why it bombed?
"Stay tuned for "Secret Storm" next over most of these CBS stations" would be replaced by "Stay tuned for "Tattletales" next over most of these CBS stations" less than six months later.
once my affiliate dropped 'Secret Storm', they sometimes 'overlayed' Johnny Olsen with a local voice-over..that didn't always work - so every time i heard ''stay tuned for 'Secret Storm.....', it made me mad!!...
Charles Nelson Reily was a hoot. The $10,000 Pyramid in 1973 episode where he pretended to faint on the floor after a contestant win was gold. Too bad it's WIPED.
Funny, or perhaps not so funny, that Richard was the only person the contestants matched in that first round. And Ruta Lee! I always liked her on Perry Mason. And maybe I'm just weird, but I think she sneezed so hard that her *nose* came off! I guess that makes me the odd one out.

I'm sorry folks. I just can not stand Morey Amsterdam. Some of his earlier appearances are riddled with him throwing the answers in favor of cracking a stupid (and often very unfunny) joke. The contestants where trying to match with something that makes sense..(often serious, and funny at the other times...) And this a&&hat just couldn't resist the urge to make a stupid lame joke out of it. Even at the cost of making a 'match'.
With Morey he had one personality and it was the human joke machine. He couldn't just be Morey and try to match the contestants. He always was the same in every show he was on. Brett was just doing one dimensional Brett.

This is the first time saint Richard played in the money round in a LOOONG time! but when he did play (and even in the game), he's been wrong A LOT!.... and yet they still pick him (go figure)

Several have .entitled down-payment on houses and a couple have mentioned needing new cars. My Dad bought a sweet 74 Impala Coupe for $4500 taxes/title/license included. I loved that car.
Tom Thumb just keeps on winning. That little fella is pretty good at guessing what those morons are gonna answer. Matching people that answer for jokes and not to match isn't easy, unless they want you to win and are playing it straight with the wee one.
Oh, gawd! When that Brett woman had to 'grawk' her supposed answer as "I had paper.." even though she was well out of that camera's sight {did they have access to atleast one monitor?} Well anyway: that attention whoe's voice just about cost me chipping a tooth, my face gritted and my saliva sour attested. Even my pet looked at me like perhaps, I was suddenly in the spazm of passing petrified peach pit?
I believe there was one to the left of Brett, depending on the episode it can be seen behind Fannie at one time when she wins the head to head and the contestant comes over to hug her, I believe that was MG75. I believe that is the one Charles looks at when he is looking to his left during the game. I think there might be one of the right as well as in MG75 Gene takes of his shoes during a commercial break, they come back without Gene realizing and he craws back on set looking for his show. The camera focus in on his bare foot and the camera also catches a blushing Gene looking towards his right like he is looking at the monitor seeing his bare foot on camera.. But I not sure, I have never seen one over there to the right.. There seems to be one for the audience because during a commercial break the camera comes back for ticket plugs and sneaks up on Gene back, when he discovers it is on him he looks for it and discover the camera is behind and turns around clapping with the audience.. ;0)
