Dorothy was very young there. I am sure she has had other experiences that would be the peak of her life more than being on a game show, although you can see she truly enjoyed every minute!
Dorothy is totally nuts, but I just love her. The idea of the dotty ‘70s housewife who enjoys a couple drinks in the morning and religiously watches Match Game is able to go on the show and last through three episodes. Good stuff.
Lol - I wasn't paying attention when she introduced herself. Did she say she drank in the A.M.? Did she have kids at the time? I thought she was like 19.
"Have a nice day 😊" shirt& bumper sticker .I believe it came out in 73 or 74 and so it would have been starting it's wildly successful popularity in the United States I'm surprised it didn't come up as an answer.
I would.....REALLY.....love to know how Dorothy Zinnie's doing and how her life's been. She was a genuinely lovely, exuberant, funny gal. Dorothy, if you're out there, PLEASE get in touch with this channel and us. Or if anyone who KNOWS or knew DOROTHY and sees this please contact the channel.
One wants to know how she’s doing ... The other, said she is fake and institutionalized & a “Karen” All over a person on a game Show, 47 years ago...WOW 🇺🇸💩🕳 (so much “hate” these days 📲‼️)
Larry Hovis, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Patti Deutsch, Richard Dawson, Madlyn Rhue, Gene Rayburn. The entire panel and the guest host are all gone, and this doesn’t seem like that long ago.
Surprising that neither Dorothy nor Charles thought of "Have a nice day", which was a very popular 1970s saying that went along with the yellow smiley face symbol that was everywhere at the time.
I don't know, maybe they were thinking she thought a half bath was in the kitchen, usually a toilet and a sink but I just guessing why they didn't match it..
Anxious and hyper as all get out Dorothy seemed to make everyone a little nervous though every game show tends to get Contestants who are woundup a little to much from time to time
@ZoneFighter1 Evie was classic! I suspect a lot of her moose-in-the-headlight persona was an act. Gene asked, "So, Evie, what are you gonna do with your $600?" She didn't miss a beat: "Buy a house, and a car, and . . ."
Ha Ha, I have a Granddaughter who is just like Dorothy. The first time I watched Up I couldn't get over how much Russell reminded me of her. Up is now in my top ten favourite movies :)
Madlyn Rhue becomes the 19th MG celebrity to score a head-to-head match, and she did it on her first time up to bat! The other 18 are our regulars - Richard, Brett, and Charles - plus: (in alphabetical order) Jack Carter, Bert Convey, Bill Daily, Ann Elder, Fannie Flagg, Stu Gilliam, Carolyn Jones, Jack Klugman, Michael Landon, June Lockhart, Jo Ann Pflug, Loretta Switt, Richard Thomas, Bobby Van, and Betty White.
Free spirit flying ;0) ROFL! Another fine episode! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Patti! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! ;0) Mars bars! ;0) Maps To the Stars Homes! ;0) You should can adlib.. ;0) Love Patti's shirt.. ;0)
Was it written by his MG buddy Ann Elder? They have a really good (platonic) connection on MG. They seem to understand how the others brain works and really appreciate their shared intelligence and brand of quick wit.
@@annika_panicka Hmmm Ann Elder did write 2 episodes of Mama's Family according to IMDB.com, Porn Again (1987) and Mama and Dr. Brothers (1986) but not the Family Feud episode, doesn't seems to have much going on 1983 but she isn't listed as one of the writers of that episode.. hmmm Yes she did seem to be one of the ladies he got alone and enjoyed their company on the bottom tier.. And guessing he helped her to team up with to help the contestants win money., there seemed to be a few that Richard and the one the ladys came up with the same answer that won for the contestants ;0)
so sorry guys but Dorothy is a train wreck of a contestant, really... an inauspicious start to Match Game 74... Candy behaved well winning $5,000... imagine what Dorothy would've done has she won... I felt bad for Harry back in Ep 120... Dorothy was one word away from full Karen mode on Harry... 17:46 Gene never bothered announcing how much Dorothy had won after being beaten by Candy, his face says it all
