Match game & Hollywood Squares were the were my favourite game shows Peter Marshal and Gene Rayburn were the best they had so many wonderful celebrities.✨
Every time Gene reads a clue, Elaine looks like she has no idea where she’s at or what’s going on. LOL AND Brett, please just shut up and show your answer!!!!! I do love Brett tho. 😁
@@dmnemaine Elaine was extremely intelligent. She had a many years relationship with famed author JD Salinger and afterwards was married to famed playwright Neil Simon until his death.
I'm pretty sure if everyone matched all the time and there wasn't someone on the show like Brett, it would get pretty dull. You wouldn't have anyone to complain about now would you. 😋
@@beckydutra6543Brett was annoying to me when I started back watching these shows, but...she kinda grew on me. She is funny. Her and Charles are a riot together.
I've been binge watching Match Game and it's becoming increasingly annoying how they always say "near-sighted" when they always mean "far-sighted." e.g. if a near-sighted farmer was close enough to milk a bull then he'd definitely know he was milking a bull. Being near-sighted is called "near-sighted" because it means you can see things that are near you. Far-sighted means you can see things that are far away and you need glasses for seeing up close.
But if one is "soooooo near-sighted" they would need to be very, very close to see the object, a couple of inches for instance. So they could mistake a bull for a cow in the land of game show crazy. :)
Nope, I'm extremely near-sighted without my glasses on, and in order for me to clearly see a bull, I would have to be closer to the bull than I need to be to milk it. I can't see anything clearly unless it's right up on top of my eyes practically when I'm not wearing glasses. "So nearsighted" is perfectly acceptable.
BRETT acted like she was joking! And said that she tries NOT TO MATCH THE CONTENTS! And we know that she doesn’t on purpose trying to be funny! The Joker she gets the stupider the Answers Get.
I don't blame the contestants for picking the male celebrities for the super match. The women are all dingbats...2 blondes and a Brett!! Either that or they wanted to kiss the guys!!
Ann Elder was far from a dingbat. She was an accomplished writer. Elaine Joyce played "dingbat", but was actually pretty intelligent. Even when her answers didn't match the contestant, they were almost always answers that made sense. I will give you Brett though.
Yep. And in 1974, if a white woman had said, "...married ... to a white man", and Gene said, "I wouldn't have it any other way", he would have been fired. What's your point?
@@dmnemaine you are wrong, multi racial couple had been going on way before the civil Rights movement of the 60's and before that there was no law prohibiting a multi racial couple from existing.
@@lcfflc3887 There were interracial couples "way before" the '60s, but your implication that the idea could be freely referenced on a gameshow without repercussions is very sadly inaccurate. There was this thing called The South, and it was devoted to trying to Cancel any institution that suggested that it was ok for whites and non-whites to "mingle". TV producers lived in fear of angering the southern U.S. for a very long time.
