I'm eternally grateful for this channel. I dropped my stupid cable TV years ago and, thank to these guys, I can keep enjoying my favorite game show. Funny how its been 40+ years and existed before I was born, but I can keep up with most "blanks."
Match Game was before my time, but my grandmother used to watch GSN alot, and when I was helping take care of her I saw some of it and Match Game was hilarious.
An identical or almost-identical question has come up before. Nobody answered "handcuffed" that time either, but a couple of panelists did come up with "frisked". They do seem to recycle questions on MG, but you'd never realize it unless you're binge-watching. (Which was certainly not a thing in the 70s before anyone even had a VCR, much less streaming services and video hosting platforms.)
Joyce Bulifant becomes the 15th MG celebrity to score two head-to-head matches! (And she did it in just two attempts!) Here are the celebs who currently have 2 matches (in alphabetical order): Charlie Brill 2 out of 3 tries (66.7%) Joyce Bulifant 2 out of 2 tries (100%) Bill Daily 2 out of 2 tries (100%) Ann Elder 2 out of 3 tries (66.7%) Stu Gilliam 2 out of 5 tries (40%) Jack Klugman 2 out of 5 tries (40%) 14 more celebs have achieved one head-to-head match (in alphabetical order): Don Adams 1 out of 1 attempt Morey Amsterdam 1 out of 2 Gary Burghoff 1 out of 1 Jack Carter 1 out of 3 Carolyn Jones 1 out of 1 Michael Landon 1 out of 2 June Lockhart 1 out of 1 Allen Ludden 1 out of 3 Madlyn Rhue 1 out of 2 Kaye Stevens - 1 out of 3 Loretta Switt 1 out of 2 Trish Stewart 1 out of 1 Richard Thomas 1 out of 2 Bobby Van 1 out of 3 *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 379, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
He was originally a comedian, starred in Laugh-In, a top 10 show, Hogan's Heroes. At this point in his career, he was very experienced in television and it flowed through him. He was a man amongst boys in this show.
Why you do guys try being honest just ONE time! To many of these episodes, people say that saint Richard is the best at this game. They're lying if they actually WATCH this show. If you guys have all actually watched this show from the beginning, then you KNOW how horrible saint Richard is at this game and please nobody lie and say that's not true, because if you guys seriously have watched this show, then you know I'm right. And just once I'd like to see someone be 100% honest on here
Wrong jungle. :) In any case, they WERE married, at least in the books. I think the famous Johnny Weissmuller/Maureen O'Sullivan films left it unstated, but they were made when audiences were familiar with the basic story -- Burrough's wrote novels in the Tarzan series from 1912 up through the early 1960s -- and knew that they were married. I really don't think the censors at the time would have passed those movies if they thought the audiences would conclude the characters were "living in sin"!

@@timothycarpenter9552 Sometimes the dumb off is among the writers rather than the contestants. Poor Billy got screwed while the woman got a free ride. The matches are better when the outcome depends more on the skill and intelligence of the contestants than on the luck of who gets the softball question and who gets the impossible one.
OH! Man, don't eat or drink while watching MG75, I learned the hard way.. ;0) Is there me or is that George Washington question a repeat????? ROFL!! Another good after dinner episode I just noticed.. ;0) ROFL!! OH! This should be a comedy gold episode! Oh dear!
Kauffman-Adams, round 2, question B: "What does this audience know, anyway? CUFFED!" (Ding!) Question A: "I guess it might look like a hat from a distance; actually, it was an AFRO." (Bzzt!) (then a tie-breaker, I guess, and then...) Super Match, part 1: (if asked before Joyce) ROSS (if asked after Joyce) BOBBIN Part 2: HORSE Kauffman-Mitchell, round 1, question A: "It was messages that did it in the show, right? So I said his MARRIAGE LICENSE." (Bzzt!) Question B: "What some of these stars have been sniffing backstage: GLUE." (Bzzt!) Round 2, question B: (just holding up the card, probably) SPITS IT OUT
Marsha was very lucky! She came on the show when they were desperate to give away money! She had some of the easiest questions ever. On top of Old Smoky! Betsy Ross! Panty Hose!
I feel sorry for Gary Burghoff always trying to be funny. Always interupting other people trying to steal their spotlight and he is just a pathetic person.
He`s just annoying A.F. we got to put up with him till Charles comes back. They keep on bringing him back every week. the little whore. He`s already part of a show that would run a gazillion seasons and he doesn`t need more money, let someone else sub for C.N.R.
How rude. He is the one that gets talked over a lot and he will pause and wait then try again and it's either gene or Brett who talks over him. He's funny in his way.
@@sharcrum They didn't treat him that way the first 2-3 weeks he played, though. I noticed a shift in the middle of a week. I think they got fed up with him off screen, which is the same as what happened with the MASH actors.
STOP BEING SO RUDE!!!!! you wanna thank GOD that He doesn't call YOU pathetic! (but then again those 8 people who "liked" your comment are no better than you)
