Fast forward to March 2021 and GSN is actually showing the Ron Valenti episodes this week. Been awhile. One of my favorite contestants. Don't you just love how Fannie is playing it "straight"? 😜😜❤️❤️
I don't think she was playing, I'm sure Fanny appreciated a gorgeous man. it's obvious he was attracted, and who wouldn't be, she's beautiful, brilliant and has great addicting personality.

Loved how Fannie said ‘brown eyes’ and then matched him but at the end of the show waved him off when Ron said he was married...who knew what was to come in the next 4 shows.
I love this show too! I've been watching re-runs because I'm home and out of work due to Covid-19. Ron is such a gorgeous guy! He is my favorite guest on this show! I wonder how he is doing today? He must be at least 70 years old.
The last Sonny question, an example when the contestant is ridiculed for their answer but no matter what they said,, the celebrities would be no help as they all had different answers.
I'm guessing nobody else caught Bill Daily's answer to the Kentucky guy marrying his chicken at 19:12. His answer was "pluck," but the way he wrote the L, it looked like an H, which made the word look like "phuck."
Ethel Merman? Ethel Merman? Whodaeverthunk that she would have appeared on Match Game. Of course, she had a cameo in Airplane the movie, so I guess she had a pretty good sense of humor.
"stampeding blacks." lol, gene was so mortified he froze staring off set. and then ethel merman goes with a slave song "old black joe". wow. can you imagine a song named "old white john"?
I'm grateful to find this video--I just saw this on BUZZR, and they censored Ethel Merman AND Gene saying "Old Black Joe". I wanted to make sure I read their lips correctly. I think they totally cut out "stampeding blacks"--I don't remember seeing that.
A few years later someone might have answered "The." I thought of Cool Jerk right away, and clean and jerk later on, but both are pretty obscure. Did they ever test those questions for degree of difficulty before foisting them on the contestants? Some were ridiculously obvious, while others were impossibly hard.
Excellent point. Kudos to Charles for not hiding in the closet. Charles might have been more established at this point compared to Fannie. It's still tough to be out and get leading roles. Just look at Tom Cruise! LoL
@@ts.elliot5870 Just yesterday I came across another episode where she pretended to like a male contestant (Bret says something like "Fannie's on the lookout for a man.") The guy openly rejected her fake interest in him. Her reaction is kind of funny. The episode is: _Match Game 75 (Episode 595)_ . I posted the same comment under that video too.
Looking back at this show, I feel SO sorry for the contestants. The celebrities were so busy trying to be "witty" that they didn't even try to match the contestants.
