@@briansk8362 Wow. Good question. I'm watching them in order, usually one or two per day. I'm currently on 640, so I don't really have the perspective to make a judgement about the best year yet. But this year -- Match Game '75 -- looks and feels more like what I remember watching as a kid. I can't recall exactly, but I must have seen episodes from '76 and then I watched off and on through the show's cancellation in '79 (I watched on school vacations). Anyway, I'm really enjoying the show, and it's fun to watch it evolve. Some of those early episodes were pretty stiff and awkward before they really fell into their groove and established the regulars and a great stable of sixth-seat semi-regulars and other recurring guest panelists. That was what made Match Game '7x so popular -- people tuned in daily to catch up with their "friends" the stars more than to see a game show. Because frankly, purely as a game, Match Game isn't the best - Password or $10,000 Pyramid or Jeopardy were superior games, but the MG format was fresh and unique. To me, with all the antics and joking around, it was almost like a talk show or variety show where they just happened to play a game.
I think think this was where I left off. I don't really remember. That's the cool thing about having Alzheimer's ✌you get to watch reruns, and not know it ✌
