MATCHBOX Restoration Part Two of Y4 Shand Mason Horse Drawn Fire Truck - Fixed! 

One of my late mothers earliest memories was seeing one of those engines with four white horses breast racing down fifth avenue in Manhattan . She was born in 1917 and loved the horses.

A sense of completion with the last part on any model is one of the Best Feelings that there is. Great Job, sir.

Marty I'm always appreciative of your work. You and I are about the same age (I'm 1958) so I grew up with Matchbox and you bring back many fond memories.

As a kid I had a few Matchbox & Hot Wheels. But, as a boy I play really hard with car crashes, off road, & jumps. It is good to see someone finding joy in putting broken toys back together.

As always Marty, a grand makeover. It’s a sweet little piece. By the way, you’ve done a fantastic job with the house since moving in. I especially like the gazebo and brick walkway also the mailbox. I hope Kevin’s been helping you out. He needs to be kept busy.🇺🇸

I had that model as a kid, my grandfather bought it and told me he remembered such fire engines when he was young and kids would chase them down the street. The pump was always loose and I thought it should come off. Of course eventually it did ! It was not much of a toy, if pushed along the horses feet would drag. But still kind of cool.

wheee, it's done! :D and ahh, the fun of doing research. :) when I was a kid, and did workovers of cheapo toy cars from the flea market downtown Stuttgart, the idea of being able to buy spares for rarities like this one wasn't even had... or maybe it was, but the parts were maybe shared within closed circles. so I had to get what I could, which were usually complete models. if a door was missing, it was always missing the same, no use buying an incomplete model for maybe spares. except maybe, wheels and suspension parts. nowadays one can buy spares for models so rare only the collectors' guides tell of them... or we can make them ourselves. :)
