Perfect timing Andrew as I'm about to solder up my first ever FC, in this case the Matek F405 Wing which I know you use. In fact it's your videos I'm using to construct the board. Could you quickly show the smaller GPS soldered up and attached please.
Could you expound on how you think the Matek is more reliable than the Beitian. Matek is my FC board of choice and all their products are great quality without question but I've been using the Beitian modules on my long range quads and fixed wings for years and they've never failed me.
I bought four Beitian modules in the past and two of them had faulty compass. I couldn’t calibrate them properly. For multi rotors the compass is very important in order to have navigation modes. I never had similar issues with the Matek M8Q-5883 module. Personally, I don’t care that it is more expensive as long as it is reliable.
@@mariofpv Well technically a compass is only needed to keep a quad or aircraft oriented when it isn't moving, such as a camera platform hovering. As soon as forward flight is initiated the FC uses the GPS coordinates for navigation. Mini-quads have never used a compass or even a GPS until the GPS Rescue option was available. Regardless, if you need a compass you want it to work correctly for sure.
Hi Andrew, thanks for the review. Could you also test both Beitian and Matek GNSS modules? I wonder if it is worth paying more for Matek. Please, test hot and cold starts. Don't forget to check battery voltage before testing hot start. Thanks.
Hello Andrew, I am not seeing GPS CoOrdinates on my telemetry screen on my Taranis. All sensors show in the telemetry tab, but when I assign a screen for the GPS coOrds to show, I get a like -100? There is no longitude, nor latitude showing. What am I missing? Only thing I can think of is a setting is wrong somewhere? But what? At odds end.... Thnx Ted
@@AndrewNewton everything is working, it's just the coordinates don't show up on the front of the transmitter when I go into the telemetry screen all sensors showing up in the sensors tab after discovery it just gives me a -100 or 100
Keep it 10 cm from everything else? You can't really do that if the drone is small. I'd be hard pressed to achieve 2-3 cm. You really are getting a lot of noise on the video from your motor.
No mask wearing in this video. No longer mandatory, no Covid cases or deaths in Victoria for the last month. Mandatory masks outside was only for Victoria, not the rest of Aus.
