I’m sure you’ll enjoy this plane. I had great fun with mine. Nice to see it comes with the upgraded 4.1x4.1 prop too 🙂 The Goblin is a great model too. It will cover ground quickly and efficiently. Have fun Andrew. Brian, you are the man!
I've for-seen this. I cannot wait for the full size Strix goblin. I'm so happy for these 2 videos. Tysm Brian Kosh. and you too Mr. Newton. Been waiting 2 years for this!
Fantastic video Mr. Andrew and very generous of you Mr. Brian. I love the little stuff you do with your videos, like at the end when you zoomed into the servo and made it say "Thanks Brian" LOL Very awesome! Keep up the awesomeness!
I have one of these and I think you are going to love it! You might think that a small wing like this would descend rapidly when you close the throttle - but no it has an amazing glide!!
Well, you are one step ahead of me Andrew. My kit just arrived in the mail a couple days ago. Have a Caddx DJI Nano ready to go on it! look forward to your build My plan is to run it on 2 or 3s 18650 Li-ion home built batteries. I do have a full size Goblin as well that can fly in the 220 kph range but that is a different story.
I always click on these videos just looking forward to the "greetings folks". I mean I love the content, but that "greetings folks" is something I've grown to look forward to and love. Cheers Andrew, thanks for all the great content!
It never occurred to me to do the wings before the fuse halves! Way easier. The elevon tape is new. I've used packing tape on mine. It's spelled Koch but pronounced Cook. Looking forward to your opinion on the nano.
Yes I watched Giz FPVs build for the tips. "Cook" it is, apologies for the mispronunciation. Unfortunately our Australian ears have been indoctrinated with this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Koch_(television_presenter)
The Goblin and Nano Goblin are extremely efficient planes. I have a regular goblin and ultra performance goblin along with a nano goblin as well. Just remember to give yourself extra room to land as they have an amazing glide slope.
Nano Goblin is a wing you need to keep light, mine is using the stock 3 blade prop, omnibus F4 V2 and 2 18650 with nano runcam and akk 2 watts vtx, yes is not light but still flight for 20 minutes and far real far.
i love mine, i've had 2 of them. ran one on 4S and wow it was smokin fast. but one thing to note, watch out for hyperstalls. especially pulling out of loops and dives, if you get the hyperstall oscillation, just drop the throttle and slow it down a bit
@@AndrewNewton check here about 30 seconds in. I do a loop and you'll see a quick vertical oscillation as it comes out.. that's a hyper stall ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QyT3v7Yr2fI.html
Nice, but I'm really interested in seeing what you think of the Full Size Goblin? I just hope you have the Cobra 2216 2300kv motor at it really needs a hefty motor to get serious speed from it. I've not seen you fly anyrthing that fast, if you have that set up, I think it'll be an eye opener for you.
Cute little model :-) When you take it for the maiden, could you take along the FMS Moa. I would like to see that fly in calmer conditions. Thanks Mate.
More plane kits need to be molded as top/bottom fuselage parts, rather than left/right. It's made the wire layout so easy compared to many of my other builds! Such a well thought up design. Also the FliteTest Goblin has a nice slide on canopy. I wonder if you might like to build one to compare it with the wings, planks, and forward swept craft. Oh and Slope?
God... Watching you put not one but 3 holes at once in the servo arms shows me how bad my shakes have gotten. I'm more than a bit scared that I won't be able to make stuff someday soon. I already can't solder flight controllers but I'm lucky to have my friend Brian who is willing to do it for me. I just did that "melt the hole bigger" the other day on the Drift kit I'm making and totally ruined one arm because my hand zigged when it shouldn't have. It makes me sad to feel my life slowly deteriorating. Sorry... Having a bad day today...
Sorry to hear that Lauren. I wonder if some sort of clamp or one axis pivoting arm rest would help with the small stuff. I can understand how frustrated you would be.
Might have been because Goop allows time to accurately locate the foam bits, and hot glue sets quickly? Cant really recall. I often use hot glue for servos and motor mounts.
Hi. I too just got this kit. Is there any reason why you used Goop instead of CA glue? Just curious? Thx. Great build btw. I’ve never seen the use of pins but it makes easier to hold stuff in place.
Andrew, what would happen if you 100% wrapped that foam model with some thing like oracover hear shrinking film? Will it still fly. I just dont like the foam!! Otherwise cool
Andrew Newton Well... I’m sure you’ll get one dead on right eventually... keep trying! Ha ha! By the way... this is an extension of the humor I use with friends when they fly around inverted. I say (keep practicing and you’ll be able to fly right side up in no time!) lol
battery, motor, ESC, servos, propeller and optional FPV kit dont come with it, so am i paying 80 dollars for styrofoam and stickers? am i missing something here?
you literally got it for free what are you on about. is asking questions not permitted on this channel? i just want to know where is my moneys worth here, cant you hotwire something that will perform similar to this, be cheaper and easily repairable? also whats wrong with converting a LIDL chuck glider to RC and flying that?
What servo tester is that at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Kcp-f9EDr8c.html? Thanks for the fantastic video as always Andrew. I'm waiting on the next pre-order from STRIX. Can't wait to get her flying!
