I know it might be a pain in the ass, but borrow Tim’s a PSC sensor Sony and throw his 50 mil macro lens on there and just put it on a tripod next to the peep so we can see how you’re tying in the peeping a D Loop when you’re doing it.
Watching you put that piece of loop string in the bow string to set the timing was just amazing to see. Something that simple to do is something to witness for myself in your bow shop awesome video.
Agree with everything you did, I can’t stress enough how most shops get you 80% there. It’s what motivated me to have my own press and be able to do everything you just did. I had to get to that point to elevate my accuracy because local shops just didn’t get me there, well done sir!
Absolutely love this type of video, and learned a lot about it. got a lift 33 on order so I'll be going through this process soon and this is invaluable to me, so thank you!
Thanks MFJJ for explaining why soft knots for your d-loop is a great idea. I have been trying to do my own research trying to figure out why you would want to do soft knots. Now i know. I have always wanted to put them on my bow but wanted to understand why its a good idea beyond the single idea of trying to save your d-loop position when replacing a bad d-loop. Much appreciated. Unfortunately my local bow shop doesnt do this. And i shoot my bow a lot. Or atleast i think i do. And trying to get my strings to last as long as possible is a big deal to me. 👍
I'm your average bow hunter was looking to upgrade last year been shooting all the different new 2023 bows . Was down to bowtec mock1 and mathews Bowes phase 4 or geniuses .my old bow failed now I shot 2024 bows just in and had to pick mathews lift with all its tec. Excited to see how it can improve my shot with mathews new grip and cell apps
I have shot Hoyt for the past 10 years mainly because my personal preference in the draw cycle and I actually liked the spongy back wall that everyone hates them for, but I have to admit that I am very impressed and interested in getting to try out the lift and from what I've seen I think I may be switching to a mathews
First off I love your videos. Just getting into bows. The frustrating part I have on your videos is that you review and score the bows but I'm not finding a spreadsheet or anything showing all the bows or 2024 bows or some sort of category for your scoring in one place that I can see side by side. I have to watch every video to see the scores. If you have that on your site or something will you please let me know? Great build video. Thank you.
It would be interesting to see the 33, though it's similar. Maybe more interesting would be the Hoyt since it's potentially more challenging to move the cams preciously
Love these bow builds. Just wish I could see what’s going on a little better. I watch listen and have adopted Josh’s way of doing things. I believe he truly knows his stuff when it comes to bows. Please please please try tog at this stuff more close up so I can see it. I’m sure that’s a pain and I know you can’t please everyone. Just decided his way is the way I wanna do things. The videos out there are just slightly tough to see the fine details. Thanks
I'll be in Spokane this May and will find your archery shop. I plan to turkey hunt Washington again. Wondering if I'd be welcome to watch you or your staff set up a bow? Heck, I may buy one just to watch "you" tune a bow.
Saw MMFJs 2yo video a few weeks on grip. I’m an idiot and was casting magic spells on a floppy wrist. Now I’ve pulled my hand back and I’m drilling nails. Dimes at 20, quarters at 30 and the dot on the dice at 40. I was doing pie plates at 40 a few weeks ago. THANK YOU!
Video request! Do one with the 33” also why you chose which accessories and please do a video with a one piece vs two piece mathews quiver mounted differences
Just got the same paper tear through the same bow. Tried flipping the top hats on top cam and got the opposite tear. Did you use different top hats than what was from the factory or just had to switch them around? Many thanks if you get around to answering my question. Love your stuff and your new stabilizers are freaking awesome!
Super vidéo, dommage qu’il n’y ai pas de zoom sur les montage ( D-Loop, noeud, repose flèche….). Par contre je n’ai pas compris pourquoi le bout de corde pour corriger le test papier !! Merci
Okay here is a real challenge. I would love to see a score difference between the flagship bow of the year against the budget bow of the year at 50 yards. If done honestly we could put a value on each point. It will make a lot of people mad but I would love to see it.
@@10flyingdutchman I watch that video twice now. It was a not real test. The arrows where different and to be honest they are both Matthew's bows. It was a 7 point difference and a price difference of 1200 bow to a 359 dollar bow. How much is each point worth? I believe it was more like 3000 dollars bow vs a 600 dollar bow with all the extras. It would be awsome to see the difference in the top 2 top budget top flagship and let us know the price per point. Thank you for replying.
Doesn't a d loop that short create torque on the string when it's at full draw using a handheld release that's twisting it 45 degrees? For an index it won't matter but for a handheld my thinking was it shouldn't pressure the string
Wonder the same thing, a local wiz always sets them up fairly long. At most you'll only get 1/2" of draw length is that worth it to shoot a more unforgiving setup? or does it really not matter?
From the inside edge of the riser to the centerline of your arrow. This is centershot in most brand name bows, not including newer Bears, though, they can run 7/8 to 3/4 depending on cam lean and tune.
It looks like it’s hanging off the end of the release. Can you send me a picture I would like to do so. Lost a Stan heavy metal last year. It was an expensive oops
I mentioned this in the previous video...Keith your grip is too deep on the OnneX C, back off one set of knuckles so your hand is more flat. It gives you a more consistent anchor point and it moves the head of the release more in line with the string vs pulling the head away from your face.
@@jkeithhowe It's a Dudley thing ☺ He is very adamant about drawing and anchoring with as flat of a hand as possible. My guess it will feel very different and possibly a little more difficult at first but like John mentions if you draw too deep on your grip as you relax slightly after your anchor the release now moves and your anchor point literally moves.
Great vlog Josh and your friend there did a really great job setting up his new bow. Congrats buddy!! Josh just one thing to point out and say is that I do not hate Mathews that I would not consider shooting them I just do not like that everyone thinks that they are the best bow out there and they sure do the most marketing out there than any other bow brand just to push their products and in my opinion there are just as good bows and maybe even better than Mathews out there. Each to their own. I shoot Hoyt and I love the product and people bitch and belly ack about how much they are and the tunning capability. At the end of the day is that sometimes you have to give up something to make the product better and that is what Hoyt has done. So then Josh what is your honest opinion on Hoyt bows because we all know that you just rave about Mathews like everyone else does. And also why do you guys in the USA get all offended when someone asks you how does a manufacturer pay you!!!
Have you thought that maybe he actually does like Mathews as much as he says he does?? And maybe so does everybody else who isn’t sponsored by Mathews? Bows are just like ford/ram/chevy trucks. Everybody has their opinion on which one they think is best. Let’s just agree that we all aren’t going to agree on what we think is the best. And most importantly, why do you care so much about his opinion on Mathews? It obviously hasn’t swayed your opinion to switch from Hoyt so why complain about it?? Just my 2 cents…whether you cared to hear it or not.
@@jonzimmerman6203 Buddy I really do not think that your getting the message here, what I am trying to say is every time someone does reviews on bow brands it is always Mathews bows are the best but they are not to think that they are personally I think that there is bows out there that are just as good out there or even better and why would I change my RX-8 one of the best carbon bows out there did you hear me CARBON buddy not aluminum. Sounds like you are one of those Mathews fish out there and that is all that you will buy and shoot how do they pay you buddy like I said Mathews probably has the best marketing out there in the business for sure and all the power to them!!!
Seems like some people just want to complain because he's not going on about your favorite bow so you're getting butt hurt. Shoot what you like and don't worry about everyone else. Beautiful thing about us humans we all like and dislike different things. How boring the world would be if we all liked the exact same things. Just my two cents, take it for what you will.
@@TONY4563084 Tony buddy please don't preach to me I do not need a priest to tell me what is good and not good. The archery world just revolves around Mathews and everything else is garbage face it Tony you know that I am 100% right face it!!!
Buddy, you sound like a ridiculous Hoyt fan boy who’s upset your 2k bare bow didn’t receive top honors from MFJJ. And who cares that your bow is carbon, sure as hell doesn’t make it any better than an aluminum bow. It most definitely makes it a lot more expensive of a bow though…that’s a fact! I do know what you’re getting at. My whole point was who gives a F what somebody thinks about Mathews. Obviously you do though….enough to write a long comment to pout about it. I’m just calling you out because you sound like a child. And for the record, I own 2 Bowtechs and a Mathews bow. Happy with all of them.
Unrelated to this video. Have you heard about the new Athens bows having a cam tuning system just like Bowtech? I know making cam tuning easier needs to be a goal for everyone. But this sure looks like a 1 to 1 rip off.
@@WolfinWolvesClothing713 maybe I asked someone who knows more about bows, bow companies and bow technology than you and I combined most likely. I've seen Athens comments when people ask about it and they say it's new technology and it works differently. But it uses an Allen wrench to move the axle from side to side. Which is the same as Bowtech. I asked the question in hopes that if he hadn't seen it he would want to get his hands on one or at least look into it.
Now that commenting is available, I will post here as well. Anyone that has actually been following these channels/ MFJJ, Tim Connor, and their podcast since they started them would know this and should actually care and call them out for the dishonesty. They were giving away 2023 flag ship bows from Matthew’s, Hoyt, bowtech, etc..(there were like 10 bows) and that was over 6 months ago. They said they were going to call people and had people fill out forms online with their personal information. MFJJ said he would be calling people and having them come in to make videos of the bow and him building them for people and it was contingent on people being able to drive or fly to him so he could make the videos and give them the bows. He also said they would be given away before hunting season so people could use them and here we are, hunting season is over and he never brings it up or talks about it again. Love the channels and love watching them but seems pretty scummy to not go through with something like that or even have a follow up video even though you took peoples information🤷♂️💀
Have you ever gotten busy and had to put things on the back burner? I know I have. Just from watching his videos, you can see he’s a busy guy. I’m sure giving away his products and free time to make videos for non paying clients was put on hold for a bit until he slows down some.
In a Podcast there was a mention on how they have to redo the giveaways. Time and logistics being the major factors…especially time. And I was one of the many who put in our info but did it bother me that it didn’t happen? No. MFJJ is one of the most busiest people trying to get everyone situated in archery whether you’re a noob or a seasoned archer. He is also human and has a normal life like us. Be grateful he and his team can even provide us youtube content for us to enjoy outside of his primary business (SVA). Just keep shooting. United and not divided 🤙🏽
I said something before really just asking what was going on with it. its free shit he paid for so im not gonna complain it didnt happen when he said. he is real busy for sure. I also gave my info and had to make accounts cause I dont use any of the social media stuff but did for a chance at a new bow. I also see the flip side if you say your gonna do something maybe just keep folks informed which he did in the podcast..
A lot of what they call innovations I just don't care that much about, I don't mind them, but they really aren't all that. The machined in pic rails and especially the machined in dovetail stuff, while nice just isn't worth the big$. I would rather see a riser drilled and tapped for a removable pic rail if they continue down this road. have give props to the light weight that Hoyt and Matthews did this year though. However imo the adjustability/tuneability innovations that bowtech and elite have been doing, way more impressive than the integrated accessory stuff, if either or both of them start doing the weight reduction they would be hard to even compare to anything else.
My Halon 32 was made in 2015 and they just changed the cam in 2023 soooooo. The bows change very slowly actually. Which is why I’m going to shoot the Lift and see if it’s worth buying. And the Bow costs $1400 and I already have an extra rest and sight. That’s cheap for what the Lift took to make and develop IMO
I think the Lift is perfect for girls. My daughter complains how heavy bows are…. So it makes me think it’s a great bow for female hunters … Everything else as far as specs, it’s very similar to The other brands…
