Matilda -- Naughty (Live from the Oliviers) 

I appreciate that they let them sing in their kid voices. I don't like it when a child's voice sounds over trained and too adult. These sound very honest.

I was looking at a live feed of Times Square when I noticed that a poster for Matilda was very close to a poster for Annie. I realized that both musicals star a spunky little girl who gets adopted by her dream parent. But, there's one big difference. Annie's signature song is about hoping things will be better. Matilda's signature song is about making things better yourself.

all of them are so talented and cute. Love their voices.

The girls in this are such inspirations to everyone. They obviously trained long and hard hours to make this happen. I appreciate they did not have to go through months of vocal training and how they could just be themselves. Mischevous, cunning and a little bit naughty:)

Okay, now there is no word limit on comments I can explain why there are four Matilda's. In the UK, there are strict child labour laws which effects all mediums, like television shows etc. So for ANY child role on the West End there will be 3 or 4 children playing the role, for example in Les Mis 4 girls play Little Cosette even though she's only on for part of Act 1. In Matilda, she has to carry the whole show at a really young age. One 8 year old doing 8 shows a week would be extremely tiring, so having four girls playing the role twice a week would prevent them from tiring themselves out. Also, in allows them to catch up with a school and still see their friends. In the US, the labour laws are less strict, so normally there would only be one girl playing Matilda. However, the director decided that there would always be four girls playing the role so they can still be a child.

Elise does this so well for being so young. Her faces are just too funny. In fact, she reminds me a little of Kaitlyn Maher.

I am addicted to watching this I'd love to do this my school is doing Matilda but I'm not going to audition cause I'm the most shy person in the school😭

Seeing Lara and Chloe perform here and then seeing them perform with Spirit makes me so happy

Matilda was the first show I saw on broadway. It was a truly magnificent show and I remember being so overwhelmed with emotion especially during the finale.

Here you go: Jack and Jill Walked up the hill to fetch a pail of water so they say, this subsequent fail was Inevitable, They never stood a chance they were written that way. Like "Romeo and Juliet" Twas written in the stars before the even met. That's love, and fate, and a touch of stupidity would bore them out, the hopes of living happily. The endings are often a little bit gory, I wonder why they didn't just change their story We're told we have to do what were told but surely, Sometimes you have to be a little naughty Somewhen reply to this comment with the rest.

This is definitely a great song to have in this musical and to have the actors sing in their real voices with a mix of British made it more realistic. I hate it when voice coaches make children strain their natural voices to make it sound like adults. I especially love the message that is behind some of the lyrics. In the chorus it says " just because you find that life's not fair it doesnt mean that you just have to grin and bare it if you always take it on the chin and wear it nothing will change" thats a great message to share because even if you are being pushed around and you just let it happen nothing will change, you have to stand up for whats right. Every body has a voice no matter what your age and you need to stand up for whats right but if you " let them get on top you might as well be saying you think that its okay and thats not right." No matter what the situation if its someone is bullying you to getting something taken from you, you have to stand up for whats right or again nothing will change. When i heard that message it really changed my way of thinking and helped me to show people that they need to stand up for themselves or again nothing will change. Another great part of this song is the ending when Matilda says "nobody else is going to put it right for me nobody but me is going to change my story, sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty." Just that little part makes the song 100% better because everyone deserves to write their own story which is their life and nobody should push you into changing your life for their happiness. I feel like the song writers were going for something simple but with lots of meaning so Matilda can get back at her dad. Even though Matilda got revenge on her dad for being rude to her and also for making the cars he was going to sell overpriced for the piece of junk, You shouldnt give your parents a lesson because they most of the time know best. In conclusion this song has a lot of purpose and i'm glad they added this song not only because its a great song to jam out to in the car but also because of the meaning behind it. I think it's really interesting seeing them all put together, they all seem to have a different portrayal of their character. I think the second to sing is brilliant and the final singer has some brilliant fascial expressions. I WANT TO SEE THIS SHOW AGAIN NOW!!!!
