MatPat is a pretty good gamer but when he rages it is hilarious. He also has a background in musical theater so he does a lot of angry singing and dancing. 😂

Tbh I thought it was his background in theater plus him trying to stay extra safe. I know he has a lotttt of younger viewers and with his knowledge of the algorithm and stuff maybe its a safety net. I want to see Mr. Game Theory's controller fly tho.

I agree, and I think Alpharad has a good enough grip on his content to not just do what he knows we will enjoy (in regards to not oversaturating), but also partially to what he enjoys as well, and I think that specifically is what made this specific vid so good

It is an institution to be funny and relevant in the comments, and I'm shook that you dare not caring about it ! @@flamo2666 He's playing them up in the sense that he's putting on a show for the audience without the intent of exaggerating the emotion itself. I believe the term for it is "Hamming". By making his failures into a goofy show, it's also likely part of how he keeps his cool under frustration.

I used to watch a lot of GTLive, and one thing I learned, is that MatPat's hidden talent is platformers. Like he picked up hard levels in the original Mario Maker, and games like Cuphead and made them look like cakewalks. I remember the Cuphead playthrough well because he was the first RU-vidr I watch play it, and he breezed through so much of it, when I went to watch others and watch them struggle, it was so surreal. And then I picked up Cuphead myself and realized just how good MatPat was at stuff like that.
About the "dancing" thing, it's a way to leak out rage in a "calm" manner. I'd definitely watch more of that, two of my youtube worlds are merging on that day and it's pretty special :D
