Grand slam is a great product and has a good scent however in commercial locations one should use unscented.

except on the area with no pre-spray - you did 2 seconds per pass, whereas the area that you did a pre-spray you did a 4-6 seconds per pass. The difference in appearance is impressive though

Hi Bill, sorry for the late response. Grand Slam is a pre-spray/pre-conditioner and it must be extracted via hot water extraction (HWE). A low-moisture alternative you may want to consider is Matrix Double Strength Encapsulant Plus www.jondon.com/matrix-double-strength-encapsulant-plus.html

I know this is an older video, but I'm just curious, if this or another product would work with a "warm" water household grade extraction machine, like a bissell big green or a Hoover steam vac spin scrubber machine? I know I really need a pro to do my carpets eventually, but if I can buy a quality product, use it mixed up in my pump sprayer, and do a proper rinse, could I still get decent results? Essentially same method the pros use with their trunk mint setup, albeit much much lower power. I'm doing it myself so the amount of time savings isnt an issue :) is there a product you would recommend that works with, say 120 degree tap water for rinse? I assume in the pump sprayer mix this just needs to warm and not 200+ like the rinse/extract.

Hi Shawn. Yes - you can use Grand Slam with a household extractor, though you certainly get better results with a better rinsing/extraction machine. Grand Slam will dissolve an impressive amount of deeply embedded soiling, and professional extraction machines do a better job of rinsing and removing dirt and cleaning residues than consumer-quality machines. Hotter water helps speed up the process and reduce the amount of dwell time and agitation required to remove soiling, but Grand Slam will still do a terrific job at 120°F or lower. We recommend following up with an acid rinse, such at Matrix All Fiber Rinse as the final step in your cleaning process to neutralize cleaning residues. can this be used on car trucks and van fabrics also which acid rinse is best to stop wicking?

Grand Slam can be used on any synthetic fabric. The encapsulating acid rinse is a little more difficult. We have a few other brands that could accomplish this such as ChemSpec Optimal Rinse. In the Matrix line, Complete Rinse would work. But if it is a really difficult wicking carpet, we recommend using Matrix Oxy Encapsulant Plus. It is not a strict acid rinse, but it is an encapsulant on the acid side. It may prove to be the ideal product on wicking problems.

I have a big green bissell upright carpet cleaner. Can I use this product in a regular pump sprayer and extract it with my bissell?

Hi there! Yes, your Bissel upright should do the trick. Just make sure to agitate the product in the carpet before extraction.

I use a Bissell Big Green too and only use professional carpet cleaning chemicals when I clean my carpets. You just got to make sure you follow the proper cleaning techniques and ensure the chemicals you're using are appropriate for the type of stain and carpets you're trying to clean. You'll also get better results if you use hot water (120-150 degrees) when extracting and diluting your pre-spray. Additionally, if you're using a product with a high pH like this as your pre-spray, you'll want to use an acidic extraction rinse inside your Bissell where the clean water is supposed to go. Extracting with just plain water can leave behind alkaline residue, which can make your carpets feel sticky and attract soil once they dry.
